Hibiki was honestly one of the Kamen Rider shows I wasn't sure to take up because of the suit design. I didn't feel anything for it so was planning on this being the last one I see before dipping into the Showa era. But then you mentioned something key: everyone got along. Tension is required in a story to push characters in either the direction of the plot or for their own goals. But as I watched how the atmosphere was in the few clips, and seeing the Oni smile together and such, that is something special. Seeing everyone get along feels...fluffy. I can't describe it beyond fluffy. Warm and cozy sure but it feels more than that. The idea of Asumu being anxious and nervous to do the right thing when he knows he should is something that feels more real. The shoplifting, getting up for a pregant lady. Seeing that hesitation and acknowldging it like the way he and Hibiki does. Because of those small points my interest in the first half of Hibiki skyrocketed. I'm always wondering how to write a mentor character like Hibiki. And now I can get my answer. Thank you again for doing Hibiki. (As much as I love Yuuto's actor Imma have to skip second half) Looking forward to Kabuto!
Never judge a rider series by the suit. Often times the suit's aesthetic quality is the complete reverse of the quality of the series itself but that's really a judgement you have to come to on your own...
Er not that I'm saying Hibiki's suit looks bad. At least not for what they were going for, though the Kurenai upgrade suit leaves a bit to be desired IMO, too much uninterrupted pure red which compared to the darker purple of the base form stands out too much...
@@mattwo7 oh it wasnt so much judging the series based on the suit but more which suit do I wanna see more of? So I basically went by the order of the suit I wanted to see more of and placed them in order. Then I ended up having to change the list based on what was available to me at the time.
I'm so happy to find someone talking about Hibiki in a positive way. Especially if the person doing so likes Hibiki. I was so disappointed by the ending of Kamen Rider Hibiki that I wrote a fan fic continuation of the show and started with a different ending. (In the fan-fic, due to some plot device, Hitomi starts training to be an Oni and Akira becomes her mentor because Ibiki had to go away and Hibiki and Todoroki couldn't be good teachers to Hitomi because Hitomi is too cute for Hibiki to discipline and Todoroki is Hitomi's cousin.)
I like some parts from the second half. -Zanki and Todoroki playing together right before Zanki dies. -The last scene. There are some others, but these are my favorite.
Also, AFAIK, another reason for the drastic change in Hibiki is that the show was deemed "too scary" for kids; and if I were to go by my interpretation, which is horror-and-suspense movie levels of scary, I don't see that as being the case. Perhaps the only scary thing I can see is the fact that the first half is a show that makes sense, which scares off Shirakura since he loves treating his audience like idiots (which is also probably his definition of a "mature" show). :p Speaking of scary, there was another toku which WAS intended to be scary which premiered in the same year as Hibiki; and we know it as "Garo." Did they happen to mistake Hibiki for Garo? :P
13:17 Far as I can tell, Takeru's became a meme instead for two reasons: The western fanbase wasn't as big when Hibiki aired and Takeru is generally insufferable to a lot of people and the meme highlights this trait.
when this was locally dubbed in my country, hibiki did translate well. in an sense that it gave a feel that being a Rider (Oni in this case) doesnt mean you have to be facing monsters and evil organizations. i like hibiki cause it felt natural and it had depth (the first part and some minor parts on the second). which led me to think that a Kamen rider is all about the journey and perseverance they made. not the fancy song, dances and perks they get.
First half: Characters get along and treat each other nicely. Second half: Asumu gets a rival and people are suddenly assholes. Because god FUCKING forbid characters get along in a Toshiki Inoue series!
Thank you for having the same thoughts regarding this series. I enjoyed the first half waaaay more. In fact, I was disappointed when I learnt about the staff changes. I understand why but it breaks my heart.
I was postponing watching this video untill I've watched the show myself, and now here's a share of my thoughts about the show. I love Hibiki. It's now definately among my favorite seasons. The season is different and it is great. It felt very odd in the beginning, it seemed like nothing was happening, but I never felt bored, the show was very captivating and I just kept watching and watching. Having a regular boy being the main character and the main rider being somewhat of a secondary character is a very interesting concept. I don't mind the second part much, though it is indeed immideately feels drastically different. What really cemented Hibiki as something special in my mind is ending. Prior to watching this History video I missed that it mirrors an earlier scene from the first part, but nevertheless, at the time of watching, when I saw Asumu finally finding his way along with the realisation that "he always was Hibiki's disciple", the whole season rolled back on me and the overall theme of growth and finding yourself hit me like a train and left much greater, deeper and brighter impression than any cool costume or flashy screaming toy ever would.
Since the Hibiki arc finally came to Zi O I would say this Shonen Yo is the best ending theme it is so legendary and it fits perfectly on the first half of Hibiki.
As someone who has Hibiki as his 3rd favorite rider show (I don't think Gaim and Drive will ever be topped), I gotta thank you Marcos for shedding a positive light to this masterpiece of a show (er, half a show). Honestly the second half was ruined for me almost single-handedly for what ends up happening to Akira. This was an amazing video, and if you were afraid it would feel too different or alienate your audience, don't be! After all... Didn't Hibiki feel different and alienate KR fans to begin with? Also, could we ever expect an ERW Hibiki and the Seven War Demons?
14:04 "within the city." Yes, back to the one same city where literally every other battle takes place in every show. Would you want to be the mayor/governor of a city that's constantly attacked by monsters everyday for the last 20 years or however long they've been filming in that location?
At first I was really afraid to start Hibiki, because I'd heard so much bad stuff about the second half. I couldn't even enjoy the beginning at first, because I was dreading what was to come. But you know what? I quite liked the second half. It definitely wasn't on the same level as the beginning and Kiriya was annoying, but it wasn't as bad as people claim it to be. To be honest, I really liked the father arc and quite controversially I loved the ending where Asumu didn't become an oni. After all, he didn't want to in the first place and was only bullied into becoming Hibiki's disciple, so eventually he realized it wasn't his calling. Of course, if I had the option to choose between what was originally intended and what we have now, I'd choose the former, but the latter is not "the worst thing to exist" as some would like you to believe. I just hope that, if you're someone who hasn't yet watched Hibiki, you'll give it a chance. Don't just quit right before the change, because you've heard it's going to be bad. Try a few episodes after the change and if you don't like it, that's perfectly fine. But let it be your own opinion, don't quit because others told you to.
I really wish that episode of Decade is the real final episode of Hibiki. Who dont want to see the final episode being a consert while beating the final boss
As a kid in the Philippines, I remember watching this show before going to school in the afternoon. I loved the show, it was like power rangers but with cooler costumes. It was weird at the start, then it became better. but i loved that stuff from the start..
Hibiki's armor is probably one of the best armors among all kamen riders. It's simple yet it's so cool. Unfortunately, It's a bit hard to look for a figure nowadays.
It could have done with a lot less of Decade's grunting but otherwise yea, that scene was a masterpiece. Even Diend got a pair of blue drumsticks somehow.
You know I personally would find it amusing if all the Tachibanas in Kamen Rider were related. I guess they're more like the Cids in Final Fantasy though...
Yeah. Hibiki's first half is amazing. Hibiki's 2nd half is a struggle. The only slightly good thing about Kiriya is that his actor got to play a better role down the road. I'd say only watch the 2nd half if you're interested in Zanki or if you want to complete the story. I personally like to call Kiriya "Kusaka's Son" because Inoue. And truly this is the one time when "Onore Shirakura" isn't meant as some joke/meme but I actually kind of despise the man for the changes made to Hibiki. A lot of people say that they "hate" KR Wizard/Ghost. But, I have to wonder if those people have ever seen Hibiki's 2nd half. Ghost and Wizard at least kept their staff for the most part. Hibiki had an overhaul in the middle of the season. To end this, I guess I'll say that although the 2nd half might be really bad. The suits were still beautiful.
Kabuto had some bad planning decisions, che sometimes abhismal casting choises, and far too many handwaves where some more Meat would have been needed. Luckilly, the plot point that needed resolution kept it standing
I had just finished Hibiki a couple weeks ago so I finally gave this a watch, the problems with the second half and shift didnt stick out to me until you pointed them out. Regardless of how the second half went, I absolutely adored Hibiki start to finish and I didnt totally hate Kiriya??? I saw him as a push for Asumu to realize what he wanted to do in life. I kept getting vibes he would eventually be Hibiki's apprentice from the start and saw Kiriya as someone to make him actually push towards something he wants to achieve until he finally makes his decision that being an Oni wasnt for him. At the end of the day, I loved Hibiki and enjoyed it start to finish and I like how passionate you are for it, it really deserves its praise!
I'm glad i finally found someone else who feels the same about Hibiki as i do, even despite it's second half falling off a little, i still absolutely LOVE everything about the series, especially how despite having a modern, contemperary setting it manages to make it feel like some sort of far-off fantasy land even though it's just regular nature a few kilometers outside of a major city, the antagonists are pretty wooden and one-note but the good part about that is it means the protagonists all get tons of character development, Asumu especially as the true main character, the slower pace of the series really makes it shine and i'd go as far as to call Hibiki my favourite piece of media period.
RJ from jungle fury was my personal favorite mentor in all of toku for now at least. Like hibiki he went with the flow I wish hibiki would've been like that too
it really isnt though. theres a bit of singing in the early eps but it doesnt really go anywhere after that. Hibiki will sing a little tune here and there but thats about it.
Ive never seen hibiki but loved the suit design when they appearead in decade. As ive just finished ex aid and trying to decided which series to start next i now know that i need to watch hibiki
28:20 Huh, interesting. That was generally my interpretation for Hibiki as a character somewhere around episode 12. In the first half, it is shown quite a few times that whenever someone gets confrontational with Hibiki he is quick to back down and doesn't defend his point. He always said that he was trained well, combining this you can gather that he is someone who only feels so confident because he trained so much, he has not a lot of self-esteem and trust in his own abilities, that also ties in with how he got Kurenai, he trained hard, he always trained hard. He is an older Asumu and that was actually something they did carry over to the second half of the show. And in all honesty, the second half had pretty much a lot of the same problems as the first, the first just hide it better. Even without the second half Hibiki was only a mediocre show for me and that comes from someone that prefers more character-driven stories than plot-driven stories and in my opinion, Faiz was already a better character-driven story than Hibiki and later seasons like Wizard or Drive as well because they have a better balance between character and plot. But that is just my opinion.
What is great about Hibiki that it uses an actual ED credits at each end of the episode. The first was Kuuga. That makes me wonder in the upcoming new Kamen Rider series, Kamen Rider Zero One, they will use ED like Kuuga and Hibiki. I really wish they would do it. After all, we are in a new era in Japan, the Reiwa Era.
Tsuyoshi Kida and Shinji Ōishi should write a manga version of Hibiki that follows their original interpretation of the story. That is if they didn't forgot where they wanted the story to go.
Hibiki will always be one of my favorites even with its issues. The first half, as you said, is just a masterpiece. Everything about it; the music, the characters, everything was great. It set itself apart from the other Rider shows that were more flash, less substance. It was more grounded, in a less serious way than Kuuga. I hope this show gets a sequel with the issues properly addressed, especially the tons of plotholes in the second half.
I never knew about this season but the helmet designs are too cool!! I love the way the helmets have a Spider-Man 2099 styler/vibe to it. The lines are so sharp and aggressive looking on the masks! I like a lot of Kamen Rider masks especially Masked Rider’s big eyes proportioned like a humanoid grasshopper but aside from that one I really dislike when the mask has more circular eyes with a good example being Dragon Knight having the awesome metallic helmet with the slitted metal visor but for dragon knight the round red eyes make the mask look odd while the sidekick bat rider guy has no round eyes and looks badass
I think the problem is that is…generic, kinda. Hibiki was something different and coming after Faiz and Blade, while all of a sudden the theme everyone is familiar with is changed with a very, very Showa opening. Taken by itself, it’s not bad, but with all that is around it feels they removed the quirky flavor from the plate and slapped in it’s place the most generic hamburger they could find. Delicious, but the plate is still ruined.
It is really interesting how the mood in the fanbase has changed since the mid-00's, and also a good example of the bandwaggon effect. I remember back in 2006, almost EVERYONE hated on the show based on the first two episodes, and for years you had multiple fans who said they hated the show because it was a "musical". Now many years after people have actually decided to sit down and watch the show and LOVE the first half. I am so happy that the show managed to age with more respect from the fans.
I also love the first half, and the sad thing is about Hibiki is I think in Japan it was just too different the 1st half. Cause most of my Japanese friends that watch Toku. They all seemed to not watch it as it was airing. Most even thou they were Asume's age didnt Iike that the main Rider was in their words a "old man in his 30s And that's not cool."
I know you meant to be rhetorical, and that after a week you might not be paying much attention to the comments for this, I still had to make this. "WHAT MAKES A KAMEN RIDER SHOW... A KAMEN RIDER SHOW" -The main hero transforms using a belt -The main hero says "Henshin" when transforming -The transformation sequence takes place during the same scene and not a cutaway sequence -The main hero's mask resembles a bug to some degree -The main hero has a finishing-move that is kick-based -At least the main hero will have a signature motorcycle -The amount of death in the show reaches the level where a company like 4kids would have to dub over it as them "going away alive, but never seen from again" -The monster group of the show falls under at least one of the following types: 1) While they have their own hierarchy, they are mostly independent of one another as they hide in their human forms. 2) The monster force is still building up its number and require humans to either join or be sacrificed. 3) While still a threat, they take a back seat to the main conflict being between "heroes" vs "heroes". (Also the reason they don't all attack at once as apposed to one villain group controlled by a definitive leader who only sends out one at a time) -The monster fought against doesn't automatically equal the monster coming back gigantic and is only on some occasions -When fighting a giant monster does it: 1) Varey in size from slightly bigger to being a kaiju. 2) Varey in shape from humanoid to something that requires CGI. 3) Have to be fought without a combined mecha robot. -When watching a Super Sentai season with the theme being: 1) An anniversary season where the hero is setup to be in the typical bad guy role and has the power to transform into forms from previous series, have to unlock a power that takes the form of something from the previous seasons, has a movie that brings back the original villain group of the franchise, and has renegade version of the main character with the ability to summon the extra heroes. 2) Involves a special train with crew and master terminal, a person's imagination, some of the monsters joining the heroes, the tradeoff of forms, and an odd transition of physical age between child and young adult. 3) Space-power harnessed in a decorative switch, a focus of the celestial constellations, and the already established group doesn't get the ball really rolling until the energetic, looking-for-friends leader joins. 4) A police unit that's vehicle insert-item to transform, a prominent red car, and a "Lupin" variant user of the insert-items. .. and you think "Wait, I think Toei did this for a tokusatsu before?" If you marked yes for at least most of these, it's a Kamen Rider Show
That's definitely one of the more unique openings I've seen to kamen rider. We've had meteors destroy a city, company break ins, war dreams, and moon explosions. Then here we open up with a musical number with the entire town singing riding bikes down the street. It's like you dont know what's happening, but it feels wonderful lol
Oh yeah I felt the exact same way when watching Hibiki. I loved the first half of the show so much cause I loved the heartwarming lessons and all. Second half omg..wth Toei
I have to say, I do like this video quite a bit. But, I disagree a lot with your view on the second half. Asumu encountering his father, to me, was beautiful. For me, it meant a lot, my father was never there for me. As well as the Arc with Todoroki and Zanki, it felt great. Not to mention the great ending. Asumu never wanted to be an Oni, so guess what? He doesn't become one, because he realizes he needs to grow out of Hibiki's shadow. Ultimately I guess none of this matters. This show isn't aimed at adults, it's aimed at kids all the way to young adults, teens. Still, I do wish you gave the second half more credit, either way I do love your vids
I’m currently watching Hibiki (at ep 37 now) and I am loving the second half. That sub plot with Asumu looking for his father was great, Todoroki and his lady problems were funny but a good lesson on how work and personal lives do affect each other, and now this Akira and Shuki stuff is really interesting too. I’m curious to see what becomes of Asumu’s new friend (rival?) Maybe my enjoyment will wind down after these next 11 episodes but currently I think the second half gets a lot of unnecessary hate.
I've been working through all of heisei kamen rider seasons hibiki and kyuga being the last 2. I'm at the half wayish mark. episode 30 and I am.loving the show. Hibiki as a character is amazing. The ost is phenomenal as well
Oh yeah.... Hibiki was released the same year as Garo And the 1st part reminds me of it I also love the 1st Part And thats why I love Garo, its not made to sell toys
I really value hibiki's uniqueness, but the end not being by the original creator really makes me sad. I think the second half is good as a continuation of the first half (I like to call it Hibiki Season 2) but to me the ending feels unsatisfying, not because of the content of the ending, but how the ending comes after a section of the show that feels messier and less focused than what comes before and after it. The second half takes time to figure out how to properly emulate the first half, and by then there are only so many episodes left to fill out a satisfying ending.
i decided to watch hibiki and get my own perspective on it. The first half i cant say i was drawn in since i found myself asking: So why does any of this matter? I still appreciated the different take to things and how asumu and hibiki worked well together. It definitely felt like Asumu's story with hibiki inside it which could be why i wasnt as drawn in Im not gonna finish the 2nd half (stopped at 38). Kiriya is insufferable and is just too toxic to even watch. i know the end result of the show and seeing how it played out is not worth grinding through the rest of the episodes only to see Kiriya become an oni. Im glad i watched Den-O before this which didnt ruin Zeronos for me(hes so much better in that)
It's really about the toys. And ain't all of this was Shirakura's fault because he didn't know what to do in Blade's merchandise issues? Toei thought he was the hero but not. They thought making the series more colorful will make it profitable. 🤔
There should be a movie or special that depicts the original idea. The name could possibly Kamen Rider Hibiki: second encore. Maybe Kamen Rider Hibiki: Forgotten Echo
@@horaciosi I hope that it does happen but also keep in mind that I wrote this comment 2 years ago when there was no word of the W anime and Black's revival
Another different thing about Hibiki is that Seiji Takaiwa, the main suit actor for all the main Heisei riders, was replaced by Makoto Ito because Seiji Takaiwa was doing stunt work for Magiranger.
So... with one of the guys who retooled Hibiki being high up on the staff in Zi-O, what do you guys think the chances are of a Hibiki actor/actress returning for Zi-O? Just wanted to get some opinions on that.
0. Hibiki's actor got dropped by TV Asahi three years ago (and vowed never to work for Toei again shortly after production concluded) and Hinaka's actress died ten years ago
An on screen role? Probably not. A voice only role? Low chance. A very low chance. He did reprised his role in Battride War Genesis and Climax Fighters.
And blade is yu yu hakusho of kamen rider and i think faiz is more like hxh the character is much similar like Killua = takumi, both trying to find their purpose and dream Kurapika = kiba, both have tragic past accident and almost turn to dark side Gon = keitarou, both happy go lucky boi cant live without their bestfriend (killua/takumi) with similar spiky hair Leorio = mihara, both underuse character Tonpa = kusaka, both lying bastard trying to mess up everyone Hisoka = Kitazaki, both cold psychopath Pakunoda = saeko Uvogin = mister j, powerhouse Illumi = sawada Phinks = takuma Chrollo = murakami Meruem = king orphnoch Phantom troupe = lucky clover Hunter association = smart brain But that just my opnion, i dont know who mari is
Hibiki is one of my all time favorite shows with Hibiki himself being up there with Kitaoka as my favorite rider. The first half is just phenomenal. Shonen Yo is my favorite toku song and probably one of my favorite songs in general. The second half has a lot to dislike and the way the actors were treated in regards to their complaints is unacceptable. But I still enjoyed the remainder of the series and I actually think some of the show's strongest moments actually happened in the latter half. It just sucks they came at the cost of the show's identity.
This video was without a doubt your best written and executed video so far, and thank you for helping spread the word about this show and defending how legitimately incredible the first half was. However, I feel like you should've done without the creator cameo in this video. I assume that you do these to help spread awareness about other toku creators, but this video in particular suffers from it. It absolutely killed the flow you had going, no knew information was given, it was (as mentioned in said cameo) a long ramble, and it was so much weaker then your script that is was honestly annoying to sit through. I'd consider not adding it in future videos of this level, but anyways, keep up the good work man.
Say, uhh... I wonder if there's any of you who'd like to see Hibiki doing a Rider Kick in the mainstream media. I understand how cool and essential Hibiki's elements are after watching this vid, but still!
I really like the first opening song. When i play Kamen rider battride war genesis i always choose the first opening song to play as Hibiki. It feels like my blood it's on fire🔥
Yikes, the fact they blacklisted Hibiki's actor just because he didn't like how the show gone is... troubling

Speaking of scary, there was another toku which WAS intended to be scary which premiered in the same year as Hibiki; and we know it as "Garo." Did they happen to mistake Hibiki for Garo? :P
13:17 Far as I can tell, Takeru's became a meme instead for two reasons: The western fanbase wasn't as big when Hibiki aired and Takeru is generally insufferable to a lot of people and the meme highlights this trait.
Well, Takeru became a meme cuz Takeru kept dying and ORE WA TENKOOJEE TAKOROO

when this was locally dubbed in my country, hibiki did translate well. in an sense that it gave a feel that being a Rider (Oni in this case) doesnt mean you have to be facing monsters and evil organizations. i like hibiki cause it felt natural and it had depth (the first part and some minor parts on the second). which led me to think that a Kamen rider is all about the journey and perseverance they made. not the fancy song, dances and perks they get.
First half: Characters get along and treat each other nicely.
Second half: Asumu gets a rival and people are suddenly assholes.
Because god FUCKING forbid characters get along in a Toshiki Inoue series!
Toshiki Inoue was the head writer for hibiki
@@rookie5552 Only the second half. The first half was written by someone else
14:04 "within the city."
Yes, back to the one same city where literally every other battle takes place in every show.
I don't know where I heard it but some say the Hbiki episode in Decade was supposed to be the original ending of Hibiki... somewhat.
Damn, the new Thumbnails for the "History of Kamen Rider" videos look fresh!!!
Hibiki's armor is probably one of the best armors among all kamen riders. It's simple yet it's so cool. Unfortunately, It's a bit hard to look for a figure nowadays.
Which is better, hibiki's second half or decade's hibiki?
Decade because that damn crab fight.
Supahstah DeDeDe it sounded beautiful
This scene alone: ruclips.net/video/B1lJnQOK24Q/видео.html
It could have done with a lot less of Decade's grunting but otherwise yea, that scene was a masterpiece. Even Diend got a pair of blue drumsticks somehow.

You know I personally would find it amusing if all the Tachibanas in Kamen Rider were related. I guess they're more like the Cids in Final Fantasy though...
For some reason hibiki’s costume reminds me of Spider-Man 2099 and I think that’s why I instantly liked this costume
Oh yeah, now that you mention it, I guess the suit kinda look like Spiderman 2099
@@Laserraiser56 thank you for also noticing
I really liked Hibiki, but it was frustrating seeing Adachi failing all the time and never becoming a rider, not including the hyper battle video.
now this video has "555" likes get the reference
And now your comment has 5 likes lol
Sakaki Chrono If anything, Kiriya might as well be Shirakura's avatar
Having caught up on the history videos, I think I now know who to blame on some of Kiva's....decisions.
Not only that but 2 episodes were written by the man who wrote for all of the Taisen movies lol
The first part is a masterpiece :3
Shonen yo! is one of my favorite songs of all time
Honetly, I like both songs, even though I admit Shonen yo! is better.
They didn't need Orochi to be the big bad guy
Toei already filled that role
it's actually a director of the second half
Hibiki and Kabuto, both season got F**ked thoungh the half way point, wow this is so sad.
Kabuto had some bad planning decisions, che sometimes abhismal casting choises, and far too many handwaves where some more Meat would have been needed. Luckilly, the plot point that needed resolution kept it standing
I like the new look for the HOKR thumbnail
Hibiki gives life lesson, and it's great
yes,
I had just finished Hibiki a couple weeks ago so I finally gave this a watch, the problems with the second half and shift didnt stick out to me until you pointed them out.
Like hibiki he went with the flow I wish hibiki would've been like that too
NOBODY TOLD ME HIBIKI WAS A MUSICAL! I'M GOING TO WATCH THIS IMMEDIATELY
it really isnt though. theres a bit of singing in the early eps but it doesnt really go anywhere after that.
2:48 LOL, THAT WAS VERY FUNNY
We needed them to focus on the other oni. I kinda had a bigger interest in them than I did with Todoroki.
Hibiki’s first OP was so good
I never knew about this season but the helmet designs are too cool!!
This is the rider that was born in my year birthday and I can say I would love to watch this show soon
How was the 2nd opening bad. The song was epic and indeed does inspire hope. Just cause something is different doesnt it mean its good
I think the problem is that is…generic, kinda.
Can I ask if I’m the only one who sees resemblances between Hibiki Kurenai and Marvel’s Daredevil?
It is really interesting how the mood in the fanbase has changed since the mid-00's, and also a good example of the bandwaggon effect. I remember back in 2006, almost EVERYONE hated on the show based on the first two episodes, and for years you had multiple fans who said they hated the show because it was a "musical". Now many years after people have actually decided to sit down and watch the show and LOVE the first half. I am so happy that the show managed to age with more respect from the fans.
I love helmetless rider shots, no matter what Kamen Rider season is on.
2:41 I hope that man singing about dolphins is Jotaro Kujo
I also love the first half, and the sad thing is about Hibiki is I think in Japan it was just too different the 1st half. Cause most of my Japanese friends that watch Toku. They all seemed to not watch it as it was airing. Most even thou they were Asume's age didnt Iike that the main Rider was in their words a "old man in his 30s And that's not cool."
I hate the first half but I love the second half
I know you meant to be rhetorical, and that after a week you might not be paying much attention to the comments for this, I still had to make this.
"WHAT MAKES A KAMEN RIDER SHOW... A KAMEN RIDER SHOW"
-The main hero transforms using a belt
-The main hero says "Henshin" when transforming
-The transformation sequence takes place during the same scene and not a cutaway sequence
-The main hero's mask resembles a bug to some degree
-The main hero has a finishing-move that is kick-based
-At least the main hero will have a signature motorcycle
-The amount of death in the show reaches the level where a company like 4kids would have to dub over it as them "going away alive, but never seen from again"
-The monster group of the show falls under at least one of the following types:
1) While they have their own hierarchy, they are mostly independent of one another as they hide in their human forms.
2) The monster force is still building up its number and require humans to either join or be sacrificed.
3) While still a threat, they take a back seat to the main conflict being between "heroes" vs "heroes". (Also the reason they don't all attack at once as apposed to one villain group controlled by a definitive leader who only sends out one at a time)
-The monster fought against doesn't automatically equal the monster coming back gigantic and is only on some occasions
-When fighting a giant monster does it:
1) Varey in size from slightly bigger to being a kaiju.
2) Varey in shape from humanoid to something that requires CGI.
3) Have to be fought without a combined mecha robot.
-When watching a Super Sentai season with the theme being:
1) An anniversary season where the hero is setup to be in the typical bad guy role and has the power to transform into forms from previous series, have to unlock a power that takes the form of something from the previous seasons, has a movie that brings back the original villain group of the franchise, and has renegade version of the main character with the ability to summon the extra heroes.
4) A police unit that's vehicle insert-item to transform, a prominent red car, and a "Lupin" variant user of the insert-items.
.. and you think "Wait, I think Toei did this for a tokusatsu before?"
If you marked yes for at least most of these, it's a Kamen Rider Show
Hibiki score & soundtrack is one of a kind, really amazing
I don't know why but the morning song from the first episode has me cackling everytime

Finally!!! I found the kamen rider with instuments 😍😍 ahhhhhhh so nostalgic! Last time i watch this show 2007 to 2009 woooohhhhhhhh *thankyou*
My favourite kamen rider! Love the music theme as well.
The ost is phenomenal as well
Oh yeah.... Hibiki was released the same year as Garo
And the 1st part reminds me of it
I also love the 1st Part
And thats why I love Garo, its not made to sell toys
I really value hibiki's uniqueness, but the end not being by the original creator really makes me sad. I think the second half is good as a continuation of the first half (I like to call it Hibiki Season 2) but to me the ending feels unsatisfying, not because of the content of the ending, but how the ending comes after a section of the show that feels messier and less focused than what comes before and after it. The second half takes time to figure out how to properly emulate the first half, and by then there are only so many episodes left to fill out a satisfying ending.
Thank you for this. This is the last Heisei rider I have not watched yet, but am now very looking forward to
It really is sad what they did to Hibiki.
i decided to watch hibiki and get my own perspective on it. The first half i cant say i was drawn in since i found myself asking: So why does any of this matter? I still appreciated the different take to things and how asumu and hibiki worked well together. It definitely felt like Asumu's story with hibiki inside it which could be why i wasnt as drawn in
Im not gonna finish the 2nd half (stopped at 38).
If W can get a sequel manga/anime and both Amazon and Black can get revivals, Hibiki can get a new adaptation.
@@horaciosi I hope that it does happen but also keep in mind that I wrote this comment 2 years ago when there was no word of the W anime and Black's revival

It seems like your trying to make the second half look bad, if you actually paid attention you would have realized that Asamu chose his own path
Thank you for this. The second half definitely feels different but not in a way that feels bad. I'm enjoying it so much.
Marcos being serious and giving his OWN opinon and i m okay with thar
31:52 I bet Marcus from Tokucast is exited. When this episode comes out, call him :)
Asumu not becoming an oni was the right course of action.
Hibiki was so different from every Rider show before it and after. And I feel like Toei is frustrated by that.
I LOVED Hibiki's Soundtrack
A character who's weapon Is a guitar?
*insert Linkara Ninja Storm joke here*
