When they approached me we discussed looking at this character through a fairytale lense and little red riding hood just felt right! Except in this universe little red is the bad guy, luring in the young wolves 😈 (this storline is for this Arlecchino song only and has nothing to do with the games original storyline)

Little Red Riding Hood being used as an allegory for abuse and generational trauma itches my brain in a way I didn't know I needed, especially the role swap where Red is the abuser and the wolf is the victim and in the end the wolf gains the red hood as it takes Red's place. The imagery and story is amazing.

I like how at the end she is both wolf and red, it's intresting, showing how she suffered the abuse, and is now in the position of the abuser, but is still ultimately the wolf as well. Doing better having been both.

This song is so unnerving yet hauntingly beautiful, like the beautiful irony of training wolves to take lives for you only for those very wolves to take your own life a payment.
The symbolism of “mother” wearing a red cloak and Arlicchino being a wolf is so twisted and I love it.

Obviously they're not actually wolves but this talks of the child- Arlecchino's- backstory where her "mother" would take in orphans like her and pit them against each other. One day it was Arlecchino and her friend's turn. Arlecchino won, and turned against "mother". Arlecchino surpassed the previous Harbinger in strength and took the place of her. Arlecchino refused to be a "mother" and instead now has the title of "father" to start the House anew.
