He tried child...He tried. But rules are rules. Hell fire wanted is hell fire received. And it's homosexuals...lesbians are from the isle of Lesbos...no affiliation.
Yeah but the 70s and 80s had better pop culture and far more mature younger generation to deal with it. In 1983 you were a woman at 16 and probably dating college guys, kids back then shot guns with their dads, fought in hand to hand fistfights and had horrible accidents on BMX bikes. You dont even live in the same world now outside of debt and war, which are always the same.
People refer to the 70s as the good old days? (Regardless of what time people are referring to, almost everyone calling a time "the good old days" is either limited in their perspective of what the real problems were because they were a kid and sheltered from many of them, or nostalgic for something constructed by the media that never existed in real life because they weren't even alive yet to have real memories of the time)
When Lily did this monologue, a disgusted John Belushi stood in the back of the theater, mocking her loudly so the whole audience could hear him. He said "women are NOT FUNNY" and other nasty remarks--he even called her the C-word!! The only woman Belushi thought was funny was Gilda Radner. Totally unfair IMO.
Interesting--if that is true, then the incident I was talking about was a previous show with Lily Tomlin. It was discussed in several books on SNL, including that huge coffee table book that came out in the 90's. I used to have it.@@themajordudes8194
Not sure what year this was taped. Lily looks to be about fifty. She is amazing, but also what really is amazing is that so much of what she worries about are relevant today. X out Nixon for Trump. It all rings true!
@@lannaketcher4580 I was wondering when this aired, after her line about BankAmericard. I was pretty sure that became Visa in the late-70's or early 80's.
Wow. Lily looks AWESOME!! WTF happened to her, in Frankie and Grace????? Her face looks horrid!! It looks like she had so much plastic surgery, that she makes me nauseous!! The way her face looks and moves, and how she speaks, seems to be drawback from whatever she had done. Utterly disgusting. I think people are better off aging naturally. It's an inevitable process......we all look disgusting from aging, but plastic surgery on the face, makes you look even worse. Don't fool yourself.
That's what aging looks like, my friend. She hasn't had plastic surgery; time will come for you just as it did for her. Of course, in Tomlin's case, behind her aging face is wit and brilliance which ages better than any wine. Something tells me the stuff below your surface has already turned to vinegar.
It’s not plastic surgery. Some older people can have facial paralysis from strokes or even just in general from aging facial muscle weakness. Stop judging people you don’t know personally
Nothing but love and respect for this lady who has gifted us with many great memorable movies
Her younger voice is so much different than her older one 🤯🤯
might also be differences in recording tech
Heavy smoker
Eh not really it just deepened
Any woman in stand up today owes a lot to this woman
LOL
Well, she certainly set the bar low enough. Just about any woman can clear it.
@@John-kc4cgbut u couldn't
She was 43 here! Woooow she looks amazing. I thought she was maybe early 30’s!
I thought mid to late 20's.
Whatttttttttttt
I love Lily and her little dance so much!
I don't. Not so much
God bless the lesbians
Amen

I'm sure she would be very flattered to be reduced to her sexual orientation like that. 👍👍

Nah.
I have just watched all of the Laugh In! Shows, In which Lily Tomlin was most remembered for her telephone calls. Wonderful to see her on SNL!
All the points are still so valid.
Its interesting how people refer to the 70s as the good old days but here it's clear that society was struggling with similar issues as we do today

I would have given JB the finger right there onstage.
John belushi died almost a year before this. Are you talking about Jim?
@@themajordudes8194 I think he is. John was long gone from the show by this time.

Why is she talking about Nixon during Reagan's reign of terror?
She was saying no matter how bad things were, at least Richard Nixon wasn't president.
