I think she also has Borderline Personality Disorder. She's a lonely person who would go to great lengths to keep Paul there. Her emotional deregulations going from 0-100 with her rages. Her constant need to be reassured.
I hate this because when we were studying cases in abnormal psychology, our professor emphasized that she has borderline disorder when in fact her borderline is a very small part of her comorbidities. Her narcissism trumps her borderline traits and it can also be difficult because some narcissism like the covert type can look very similar to BPD. Even psych practitioners themselves don't know how to diagnose BPD and it has become very harmful for those with actual BPDs because these are people who actually seek help the most and want to change and are met with so much hostility because of such stereotypes. They are the ones with so much guilt and the ones who are successful with committing suicide than most other psych disorders.
She gets extremely depressed when it rains in the movie. We just see it once. We see more depressive episodes in the book with her over eating and neglecting paul
In the book she is a classic case of Bipolar Disorder Type I for sure.

in the book annie has a lot more depressive episodes, that’s why i’m gonna have to stick with bipolar and maybe borderline personality disorder? she also does have a lot of schizotypical symptoms, but the DSM says that the two should be differientated, so idk

The pejorative that you use at the beginning the values your comments and you might know something of what you're talking about but I stopped watching because it's just ignorant to use pejoratives when addressing someone's mental state now if you want to talk criminality then talk criminality and even then if you're using a pejorative to discuss a criminal you devalue any of your comments
The character from the book, as crazy as it sounds, is crazier and more psychotic than the movie version.
Kathy bates was amazing . Jane's caan was also very good bc she can only be as good as her protagonist.
My favorite line besides the cocka Doodey car is when paul is shoving paper into Annie's mouth and says " eat it til u choke" that line had me laughing so hard.
I thought it struck me as borderline personality. I also think she's super religious and maybe has some delusions of grandeur
