Keep your used tea bags. Dry them and add the tea to the mix. Gives a little bit lumpier effect. You could cut up some Spanish moss too.

The Grubby Mix will be great on old candles, candles that are not your color, damaged candles, and thrifted candles. I can almost smell the candles over you tube. I assume when the flameless candle is turned it may warm it up just enough to emit a little more aroma. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, those would be great to grubby up for sure. I think it does give off a little bit of a smell.

Grubby kit! Wow… that is amazing. It would be awesome to win a grubby kit, to give it a try. And see how I like it. I may like it so well that I make lots of them. I’m loving the color already. Beautiful brown color. They probably want burn after you grubby them because of the mod podge. But you could use the battery operated candles. Some are waxed.
Yes, it blocks the flame from the wax and will not burn. I like using the battery candles mostly. Thank you for entering!

It does smell really good. Once sealed the mod podge does mute some of the smell, but you could always not seal it, but the mixture might flake off over time.

Good morning Shelly and thanks for sharing the grubby mixture. I will make my own today. My question is, if a candle won't burn because of the mixture, and the top were painted a dark color would it then burn? I hope your day is full of smiles and laughter.

I think it pretty much does. I've used it on wax, wood, plastic, cardboard, metal, and probably other things I can't think of. As long as the mod podge will stick to it, it should work.

Thanks for explaining..I didn't know the candles won't burn after that. So in one video you mentioned what mixture you use is what smell comes out. How do you get the smell if candles don't burn. ?
It's more for the look. If you still want it to burn, don't grubby the top. Keep the wick open for the wax to burn. Also if you don't seal the candles they do smell really nice. Just know that the grubby mix may drop off a bit.

I use Amazon for my candles. I filter the search to top deals or todays deals and see what they have.
Hey girl, it's Marty, I'm sorry to be annoying. I'm trying to find the correct video and I know this isnt the one. Ok, it was when you did the teapot light. Maybe a year ago. I watched it a couple of weeks ago and I'm obsessed with it. I have looked high and low for a teapot that I don't have to spend a fortune. Went thrift store shopping today with my dad. As usual I find a teapot but they are very small. Super petite. My hubby last weekend when we went to Lowes helped me pick out the light for it. I'd love to get the cute lighbulbs your talking about but I did find a flicker bulb I'm gonna try. My question is, since I can't find a decent size teapot I bought a medium size pitcher with a round fat bottom. It's not super tall but I think it will be ok. It wont have a lid on it. Will that be ok? Also, your burgandy paint. May I ask how you make that. I love the reddish look. My fave color is red so I can hardly wait to make this craft.I;m sorry about going on so long. If you're busy don't worry about awnsering this until you have time.I know we are coming up on the weekend. Anyway, thank you for your time! Marty

I think a smaller one would be cute. Just build up your greenery or flowers up. It will look great!
I use Waverly red paint, just a little bit of black (a teaspoon to start), and mix it. Add more black depending on how dark you want the burgundy.

I know this is a year ago video but my grub pealed off of my candles. In one big piece. Any ideas on what I maybe did wrong or should I use glue instead?
Oh no, that’s terrible Kristina. I’m not sure why that happened, but I have used glue in the past and it works good.
