Vinegar and salt water. Works very well. And yes, those backpack sprayers are nicer than the little tank things but what's even nicer is a tank that sits on a atv or mower that connects to the 12v battery. point the wand and spray. And I will tell you this, reg. food vinegar will remove galvanization from chicken waters and make them rust so I'm not sure about your metal fence.

Lots of us were exposed to many so called "safe" chemicals (Including those in "fragrances"). My father used to have a side buz spraying presticides and I recall going out and "sniffing" it as to me it was "sweet" smelling! I ended almost dead from pesticide poisoning (NYC cock roach pest guy). And what I exposed myself while working in the arts IEEEEE!!! (generally regarded as "safe" NOT) My younger sister worked on a farm in S. CA (she was the office mgr) and it was owned by the Saudi Prince or some such (they would fly in once or twice a year - set up some Tent Party and fly out). They grew mostly Avacadoes (some of the most beautiful sweet Avacodoes she would ship to me in NYC) I later visited and stayed a while. Unfortunately the people hired to spray the crops were getting very sick from toxic chemicals (glysophate is highly toxic) with a high death rate. I sent her information on organic industrial farming and they switched. It was a great ownership in that as well each farm hand was allowed to rent his cottage at apx $80 US dollars and even buy it outright if they wanted. And were given x amount of land to grow their own crops for their own use.

@Stoney Ridge Farmer Vinegar will remove galvanizing on metal including your fence then when it gets wet it will rust. Notice the black liquid in your container that's galvanize that has been removed and the wire is black because the galvanize is gone. The reason your test piece isn't rusting is because of the vinegar is a acid which will remove some rust. We use vinegar to remove galvanizing on bolts before welding.

That is $84 bucks just to do the yard area. To go around our whole place we use 30 gallons or more. Our driveway is 1/2 a mile long. No one beyond a yard the size of a postage stamp is going to able to use this stuff. Especially since it only kills the top part of the plant and not the roots. Which means you would have to use it a lot more often than the Gly. I have mentioned this on other channels reviewing this stuff. No one every replies.

Thanks for the heads up on this. While I think the science behind the health concerns surrounding glyphosate isn't there, I'm not exactly impressed with its performance either. I recently sold a house and we were spraying our gravel driveway with it to keep it looking nice, and it did not work fast enough or at all in some cases, and I ended up going out and pulling the weeds by hand instead after the first couple applications. I don't usually use weed killer at all because it's a waste of time and money for a homeowner unless you're overly concerned about appearances, but next time I need to keep some weeds down and quick, I'll take a look at this stuff.

I appreciate your enthusiasm and mission to try and find an "organic" solution if that's what you desire. While your test doesn't describe any potential negatives of using a 20% Vinegar solution, you also don't talk about what most people are looking for with a fence line or bare ground killer, which is efficiency (100% kill and potentially not having to re apply). Comparing a contact herbicide to a systemic in the matter that you did was also slightly misleading I thought (seeing activity from the Vinegar after an few hours, yes that makes sense. RoundUp taking several days to work it's way through the plant, also nothing earth shattering about this) Speed of kill does not always correlate to efficiency as you seemed to try and make it seem. There are many products, some containing glyphosate, some not, that are much more efficient that green gobbler on the market for use on fence rows, pasture, bare ground. I only say that because I have experience with hundreds of different products in commercial use. Doesn't mean I know it all, I just have a lot of experience. Again, I don't share your views on Glyohosate but I tip my cap to you in regards to your time spent in researching and trying to learn what works best for you and your farm.

Obviously you don't share my view on Glyphosate....however...you never heard my views on it either did ya? I'm not gonna argue with ya....and I'm not here to brow beat glyphosate....simple fact is ya can't use it on an organic farm....so here's a solution. If you had to do a shot of one or the other...which one would you do a shot of? Diluted or not? I've been using weed killer on the farm far before this video....this is an organic option. Pretty simple.....really you only want the broad leaf out of your fenceline anyway ...keep trees and brush from growing up into it...grass is fine.

glyphosate is a proven Carcinogen where vinegar is a more natural product. The majority of US food is hosed down with glyphosate, so our insides are becoming a ticking cancer bomb.

Joe Shmoe no worries mate! Glyphosate is becoming all but useless here in the Midwest. Now all you’ll have to worry about it Glufosinate and 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, safe as can be 😉

Here is a warning about acetic acid. acetic acid is a corrosive poison that can cause injury or death when human tissue is exposed to it. At concentrations of 10% to 25% (1.67-4.16 mol/L), it acts as an irritant; but at concentrations greater than 25% (>4.16 mol/L), it is corrosive and should be handled in a fume hood.2 Skin contact may produce blistering or burns, while liquid or spray mist may produce tissue damage particularly on mucous membranes of the eyes, mouth, and respiratory tract. You should wear a respirator when handling acetic acid in concentrations above 5%. I have seen many staff become sensitized to acetic acid from use in cleaning GI equipment. It does work great just use caution.

my opinion is that it is good in concept but the other is $98 for 2.5 gallons that makes 150 gallons and the viniger based is the same price for a no mix 5 gallons so that means that you are paying 30x the price that is just too expensive plus in the test you had one pre-mixed and the other wasn't mixed again 30x more powerful so it should due more damage. and my final point is thatwe dont know how long until you have to spray again because we spray cornerstone 3x a year spring, summer, and fall that is it and it might not have the same longevity. i love your channel and the teaching that you do and i know that you try to do it organic but if it really does pay off then people would do it

If you was running barbed wire or slick wire they make a tractor or utv attachment I seen that cuts under wire and spins around post while you keep rolling. Can't recall the make of it
