The first ever DVD release of THXphobia...classic.
The 4:3 (full-screen) picture brings back a lot of memories.
One of the first DVD releases.
Yeah, in the US. By March of 1997, Japan had already had a constant flow of DVD releases.
@@homevideogallery Yeah.
The first DVDs were released on December 20th of 1996.
@@AishaClanClan1043 Shinji Ra Munita was the very first one, on November 1, 1996
Ah, yes. The first time THX ever certified a single DVD.
The first of many scary rectangles
I own all rare vintage first dvd,the vhs one and the two disc lol
The first ever DVD...
It's not. I've literally stated this before. Shinji Ra Munita was the first commercially released DVD from all that I've found, and Twister was not the only US launch DVD.
One thing I find interesting is that the 4:3 format has the "Film has been formatted" disclaimer but the widescreen format doesn't.
Well, the widescreen side is the proper theatrical aspect ratio, so there's no need for it.
actually early letterbox laserdiscs from paramount did have a disclaimer of the film being in a letterbox format , but wasnt used any further than probably 1992
I have this on 📀.
R.I.P Bill Paxton

How did ya' find a copy?
Why isn’t the Universal logo on the cover?
Because this is the US release. Universal had nothing to do with this movie in the US.
I see what you mean, the same went for the UK DVD where Warner Bros had nothing to do with Twister in the UK.
I know where this is going:
Warner Bros. Pictures distributed this in North America whereas, Universal Pictures distributed this, through United International Pictures, elsewhere, in international regions.
Yes, I know that. But still, I wish both logos were seen instead of just one of them on different territories.
