- All 20th Century Fox Intros from 1914 to final one in 2020. With Disney changing the name of the studio to 20th Century Studios, it's unlikely we will see another "FOX" version.

My favorite intro was for Alita: Battle Angel (2019) with the 26th Century Fox modification. Really fell down the rabbit hole after making a video about it’s intro looking at the history of all of these intros. Alita was an amazing movie that needs a sequel! 20th Century Studios theme tune is one of the most recognisable and easily the most iconic fanfares in cinematic history.
Written by Alfred Newman the leader of the Hollywood Bowl Symphony Orchestra.
In fact their publishing company is Fox Fanfare Music, inc. BMI.
@@mrmjb1960 Thank You, for the Information.
Word
9-time Oscar winner Alfred Newman was the head of the 20th Century-Fox music department from 1940 to 1960. He also composed the fanfare for David O. Selznick productions.
I'm sure everyone here will still be calling it "20th Century Fox" for the rest of our lives, with our children and grandchildren being confused as to why we're calling it that.

What a honor for a movie to be inside this intro, I'd love it.
Interesting to note that the 20th century logo has actually changed the least since its inception, mostly the same between 1933 and 2019. The only real big changes are the 6 second Coda added in 1954 and the panorama first used in 1994, but other than those two things, that's really about it.
Not forgetting the straightening of the “0” in 20th Century Fox back in 1981
i couldve sworn it moved in home alone, 4 years before this video says it did
This is a great compilation. Largely symbolic but still sad that there will no longer be that famous name of “20th Century Fox”.

3:52 There’s the nostalgia I remember.
When Darryl Zanuck & Joe Schenck founded 20th Century in 1933, they hired a young musical genius named Alfred Newman, on recommendation from producer Sam Goldwyn, to compose a fanfare to accompany Emil Kosa’s fantastic artwork for the new studio’s identity. Alfred had recently supplied some Roman Empire-style fanfares for Goldwyn’s comedy, ‘Roman Scandals’, so 20th was lucky to get an even better version for their trademark. After ‘The Robe’ and ‘How To Marry A Millionaire’ in 1953, Alfred added the brilliant ‘CinemaScope Extension’, which opened every 20th-Fox CinemaScope picture afterwards (with the exception of several that were either silent, or with Main Title music.) Plus, the lush sound of Alfred’s conducting in stereo is perfection, and has never been duplicated. His composer son David conducted a later version, but admitted he couldn’t really recreate his Dad’s unique sound. For me the solemn grandeur of the CinemaScope years will always be the best, both musically and visually. The great monolith, further away, with that unique ‘0’, heightens the awesomeness. I’m afraid some of the later versions, supposedly ‘straightened out’, look a bit cheap, with cartoonish colors. Tim Burton’s snowy version is totally cool. It was Lucasfilm that brought back the Extension (thank you George), but they could’ve jazzed up the Lucasfilm labeling a bit to match. The ‘drone’ versions are fine, but a little protracted. Alfred would’ve tightened it up some, and deepened the fidelity.

This was a great video. You even used the opening titles for the Fox Film Corporation and 20th Century Pictures before they merged, which l really appreciate. Thank you. 😊
Here's what I would create the logo for the centenary:
- In the beginning, have a majestic orchestral piece that transitions into the Fox fanfare over a montage of famous films produced by TCF (Call Of The Wild, The Sound Of Music, Avatar, SWEIV:ANH, Titanic etc.).
- In the montage, have the narrator saying:
"Ever since the studio's inception in 1935, 20th Century Studios has brought worldwide praised entertainment, which will last for years to come. Here's to another century of outstanding filmmaking."
- After the clipshot, show a montage of all Fox logos from 1935 to 2020, ending with the 20th Century Studios logo. But, at the end, make the searchlight pan to the camera (Searchlight Pictures style) and show a print version of the TCS logo with the word CENTENARY written below it. Next to the print logo will be the text "Lighting Up The Silver Screen For A Century And Beyond", surrounded by two searchlights.
- In the montage of the previous logos and the logo itself, it'll have a re-orchestrated fanfare, but with one more short violin coda before the last four notes to make it feel more grand. The last four notes will be the most powerful.
- Have the logo end with a searchlight's light swooshing over the screen, erasing the centenary logo and starting the movie.
3:52 The good old one we all know!!

Thanks for this compilation video! Amazing journey!! 20th century fox name is iconic for me! 😊 Hope you did include Xmen intros. 😁
2:53 The most iconic intro ever

Its night time-
You know, I always wondered why they didn’t change it to 21st Century after 2000?
Oh well. Those Fox Film logos were pretty shabby-looking. The merger was definitely a glow-up for them 😂
This makes me so happy
Admit it- you’ve missed seeing this before Star Wars films.
I think they still owned A New Hope and then Disney bought Fox so they have the rights to all Star Wars films
So Star Wars was the second film to have the longer intro
So... Which is first ?
Lol I get it
@@beast.7002 think about it lol think about it very carefullyy
No, it’s just an alternate example of how the CinemaScope tag music was used. By your logic, Fox only released a couple dozen movies in total.
:-)
The iconic 20th Century Fox doesn't exist anymore. 20th Century is just another Disney brand or possesssion
This is amazing!!!
There were also the variants for the _X-Men_ films. In several of the _X-Men_ movies, the "x" in "Fox" would stay on-screen for about a half-second after the rest of the logo started to fade out. And additionally in _Dark Phoenix,_ the x glows red and begins to smolder.
Good catch 👍
In addition, as the X fades out, in DOFP and Apocalypse, a brief snippet of the X-Men fanfare is heard at the end of the Fox fanfare.
Good thing you noticed as well. X
When the 1st X-MEN was released in 2000, I recall this being one of the last Marvel films to be released on VHS, with the sequel having a DVD-only release. Seeing that X staying lit a few seconds longer used to creep me out for some odd reason. Always loved that old school fanfare for 20th Century Fox. Shame future generations won't get to see new releases in theaters, thanks to Covid-19. Those days are as dead as Caesar....🇵🇷🇺🇸😪
Where is the dog phonics one
4:34 this one is actually the coolest
As a joke in the early 90s, I put the WAV audio of this into the PCs of the computer lab in my school, then tweaked the autoexec file to play it whenever someone switched it on. Good memories.
With the star wars one they had the perfect opportunity to turn the lights into lightsabers
To me the Fox logo was so iconic and heavily associated with Star Wars that it felt like a key part of its soundtrack.
This is because John Williams purposefully composed the beginning of the Star Wars theme song to match with the 20th Century Fox fanfare
@@pikpakpukany source? I’d like to read on that
@@pikpakpuk I don't think that's true. John said it was coincidental his music was in the same key (B-flat major I think) as the logo and that it worked nicely. I'm not going to hunt for the source, because I either read that 20 years ago or saw it on one of the VHS/DVD interviews
@@EmpyreanLightASMR You can't say you think something is wrong because you have a vague, possibly false memory of hearing otherwise.
@@RandomNameLastName811 I was being coy for some reason. John Williams did say it was a coincidence. I heard him say that in an interview probably on the VHS releases that included a bunch of annoying interviews you had to fast forward through to get to the movie. False memory? No. Vague? Of course, it was 30 years ago, jesus.
5:34 my favourite intro by far, it gives me alot of nostalgia idk why
