that is some collection there ! Wow, I know now that there is a LOT of different tools that snap-on made, collecting them all will be very draining! At that point you get you gonna use. i picked up some, late 1970s ones just like yours here, just a handful of sockets, ratchets and torque wrenches, all snap on from a garage sale. The guy was the original owner and used them as a hobbyist only so they were in great condition. Love the black handle screw drivers. Got a few of those as well, they are really growing on me, just love seeing the snap-on lettering on each tool, makes it that much more special to own and use!
Hope this late comment finds you well sir. You got yourself a treasure and a piece of history. I have a couple sets of metric sockets and a 1/2” Snap On Ratchet I rescued from a pawn shop that the previous owner had engraved. Every scratch, ding and chip in those tools or the box itself tells a story of a man that used that stuff proudly to put meat on the table and support his family.
Very nice haul. I gotta admit, I thoroughly enjoy watching your content. Perfect tone and you always find excellent deals. I hunt for tools just like you and I bring them home, remove rust and then return to service. Keep the content coming!!
1/4×5/16 box is for bleeding brakes. You can try hitting the hinge on flex heads with a hammer backed up with the flat on a vice but warranty should cover new pins if necessary. I would disassemble the ratchet heads and grease them. That is a really nice set of tools in a sweet box!
Very fun video, you have a very nice set started. Keep up those estate sales looks like you have some good ones in you area. Looking forward to more stuff from you
Hello, You are probably right about tool number J21111, The kent tool. The Kent Tool Company made transmission tools for automobile manufacturers. The square tools were indeed used in band adjustment. Good call.
Those 2 wrenches at 8:12 in the video are drum brake adjusting wrenches. And that C-shaped Snap-on wrench at 5:06 in the video is a Cylinder head wrench.
Nice haul. Box looks like model KRA59. It looks a lot earlier than 80. Probably late sixty or mid 70. You can usually see the model and a two digit number on rear of boxes that would be the year. It is stamped in and painted over faint imprint.
With the half-inch drive first remove the head then place the area that's loose at the end of the handle into a vice it looks like they may be bent out just a little bit and then once squeezed back in put the head back on and make sure to tighten the screw well and you should have no more slop
Any of them snap on tools snap on will fix they will fix them flex heads I got snap on ratchets form the 50s 60s 70s and 80s and they will still rebuild them or my snap on driver will at work he will have to order the parts probably because they don’t keep the older stuff in stock unless you collecting the older tools I wouldn’t worry about it but if they can’t fix it they will just give you a new one
You can get the loose flex head ratchets replaced with new dual 80s I just swapped out 4 old ones for brand new models that were between$169-$269 each... Nice haul i have the same top box. How much was the haul???? Good video man keep up the hard work.
Adam the haul was approx. 800.00. i got a little excited might of paid extra but i wanted that top chest always have. i think i could make some money reselling but wont i love this set now just add to it.
@@toolrescue9119 there's thousands of dollars there. You could make your money back selling a couple sets of sockets, few ratchets set or Two of wrenches etc and keep the rest for free
nice show nice box bottom drawer clothes sheet the big ones either trucks diesels the small little wrenches fuel lines most of your heart Jolla Cove Suites off of those nice nice show nice box have a nice day brother thank you
Next time you're driving down the Interstate at night, do yourself a favor and throw those damn EZ out things out the window. In the long run, you'll be glad you did. There are MUCH better tools for removing broken bolts etc. than those.
Someone took his Government issued tools home with him when he retired as they are all in English imperial sizing. Willing to bet from motor pool / heavy equipment mechanic as they were issued all the tools they could justify. Definitely not a home set based on the sizes and the fact that they are all in English imperial units. That's also the standard tool box for US government mechanics. Also, the US government has to buy "USA made" tools which is another big give-away as all the tools are USA made.
I would sleep like a baby. What’s wrong with finding a gem of a deal and acting on it. The estate owners had every opportunity to inventory the tools and sell them at “Snap-On” prices if they wanted.

Those are the tools I drooled over 30 years ago.

That dude that died was probably still paying on all that stuff when he passed 🤣🤣🤣

On the wrench that was 1/4and5/16 that is a bleeder wrench and the square wrench is for A/C ports on some older dodge and Ford system.

Wow...nice find!
Your garage is haunted lol. I saw a few orbs. Great video!
A good tool haul, cheers !
Find of a lifetime!
It was $100 bucks back in 1972. Traded it away and then bought another one in 1977. Still got it.
Talking the price of the box.
Also, the 3/16" by 1/4" tools were used for wheel cylinder bleeding.
Wow, that's an excellent collection
thanks Eddy i doubt ill ever run acroos a set like this again
The Kentool wrench is for A/C

Holy Christ you got one hell of a deal there.. must be worth 4 times what you paid for it ?
Do you have the tool number on the smallest feeler gauge?
Unless a person works on OLD diesel trucks a lot of those tools will never be used. Nearly everything now is metric too.
Maybe on my 2002 7.3.
Nice how much was it
Just out of curiosity what did you pay?
