Hello Jon Green always love the content. I have a Cisco C1111 lte that does my nat, dhcp and Internet as it has a built in AP. Pretty nifty device but i I want to introduce a srx 320. Any suggestions on what I should do with the srx?
nice mod! I have the BMPCC FF 6K and wish the screen would be detachable. I would imagine to have it with a usb-c cable so that you can place it anywhere and magnets in the back so that it can be placed back, magnets on the V mount to.
Thanks, yeah it would of been nice if the port for the EVF mount on the BMCC 6K was usb-c instead of some proprietary connection. This would've given me hope that in a future update the pyxis monitor may have been a valid option, unfortunately i dont think its likely. Though I have heard that there may be a future mod coming out for the 6K FF model.
@@jongreenit cool! I always wonder why the screen was not detachable since it's so nice and it would not take a lot of effort! They could do it for the Pyxis too!
@@biskero I'm not sure, It's odd being that the release date for the BMCC 6k FF and Pyxis wasn't too far apart. Perhaps they'll consider it in the next generation of pocket cameras.
I’m sorry but this looks ridiculous. Instead of spending hundreds to DYI modding your camera and paying for a LIDAR focusing system - just buy a Sony FX30 and never look back.
It really just comes down to your workflow. I won't knock the FX30's build quality, small form factor, or impressive autofocus. However, I do know for my use-case this rig transforms the pocket 4k into a complete portable self-filming studio package. Typically, I'd place a 5-inch monitor on any camera just to get a better idea of what I'm looking at. Whereas it can sometimes be difficult to see what you're filming on the 2-inch flip-screen display found on most mirrorless cameras. Also, access to the Blackmagic's simplistic menu system on the bmpcc4k is an added bonus. The ability to record externally to an SSD speeds up my post-production workflow when it comes to video editing whereas this feature isnt supported on the fx30. If I wanted to leverage XLR inputs on the FX30 I'd need to invest in a huge top handle or expensive external recorder like the atmos ninja or the video assist, in my case the bmpcc4k comes with a mini XLR port built-in. The ability to record in RAW also comes in handy, ensuring that if the scene I shot in wasn't properly exposed, I can always go back and correct it in post-production. Not trying to sell you on the mod but those are the reason why I find this rig convenient.
@@jongreenit Did you know the FX30-and pretty much every mirrorless camera-already lets you wirelessly monitor your Sony camera's image and settings via the "Monitor & Control" app on your phone or iPad? Shocking, I know. And about that XLR handle you're so concerned about: it's not exactly the Jolly Green Giant. It's available for purchase with the FX30 and comes standard with the FX3-as any sane camera package would offer. Recording RAW on a Micro Four Thirds sensor isn't going to rescue you from bad lighting choices. It's also hilariously overkill when you consider the privilege of buying, rigging, and lugging around SSD storage for this monstrosity-when swapping out an SD card would be a revolutionary alternative. My gripe with this rig is that you're making way too many concessions for a 2018 camera that was never meant to endure this kind of misuse. And you're using a DJI mic, even though Sony offers a smart hot-shoe accessory that enables digital audio passthrough. It connects the DJI Mic 2 receiver directly to a Sony camera's MI shoe-eliminating the need for that vintage 3.5mm TRS cable. In short, this workflow makes zero sense financially or operationally. But hey, if inefficiency is your art form, who am I to judge?
Really cool setup man! thanks for sharing this.
No problem!

why not just buy an hdmi monitor?
No control over the camera settings

@@ethanmitchell7753 tbh as good as the fx30 is, I'd never get one. The Bmpcc4k is just that good, the only real step up I would see is from the fx3
