If I’m getting customer calls as a senior engineer I’m quitting
Great Video support Bro. A great thanks to you 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
working my first IT job, jr sys admin. Team of literally two just me and my boss. Company has like 100 employees. Maybe as little more. I have lots of down time because of this, ive been able to get 3 different IT certs, wiill be working on first major cert here soon; CCNA
Using downtime to advance your career is wise. Rooting for you!
Thanks for the video. Helped me out.
Can i make a logic gate virtual lab here?
Do you have any social media account .... i want to ask you about network work fields because i am studying ccna and don't know what i will do after it
Sure thing, ping me on LinkedIn
How to export this RSI & Logs to computer?
Enable ssh and ftp on the device and use a windows application like WinSCP to transfer the files over to your PC
Very Cool Instructions on "How To" You Rock!
Do you or anyone here know of any sources where I can learn about the latest in networking? Preferably videos I can watch on my phone
Honestly, here on RUclips is a great place to start. Research the current popular entry-level networking certs. You can then checkout Udemy or CBT Nuggets if you're interested in watching some dedicated course videos.

So you knew someone..?
Where?
What gaming laptop would you recommend for someone just wanting to play WoW and some strategy games?
So it really comes down to the resolution and framerates you want to achieve. Because WoW isn't too graphics intensive you should be good with an rtx 2060 and be able to push well over 60fps at 1080p for higher resolution gaming perhaps consider either an rtx 2060 ti version or 2070
@@greennotanexpert Thank you
No problem!
thank you, direct and clear.
Fantastic instruction Jon. I have a question, I am tasked with setting up a high availability firewall and with only one WAN I wanted to create 3 ports on Juniper switch that allows the 2 WANS from the firewalls to plug into the Juniper along with the actual ISP WAN. Based on your videos I have created VLAN on 3 ports, that is completed, the configuration I was referencing they setup a different manufacturers switch and what they did on their switch is add Ingress filtering to those 3 vlanned ports. How is this completed on a Juniper, I can't really find any information on this. Any idea, thanks.
Glad to hear you found the vid helpful! I take it you're referring to ACLs applied in the ingress direction on interfaces. ACLs on Juniper are referred to as firewall filters. See a walkthrough covered in the video below: ruclips.net/video/_InMKJ_N2JI/видео.htmlsi=yQTVjCsBa_WNVpdD
@@jongreenit Thanks Jon, I will have a look , appreciate it.
when i followed all the steps but still its only loading ubuntu only
which step are you at?
Where'd you find that one for a $1000. Thanks crazy amount of specs for that value
eBay is a hidden gold mind ;)
I tested this laptop at Bestbuy. It’s great build quality and I like the look. My problem with it is the price. Even on sale it was crazy expensive. It’s one of those thing you really have to want to justify the price.
how to only show device in the list and remove all the grey out device?
By default if you unselected the option that say "show unprovisioned devices". You should only the device that are installed on your server
Thank For explication
Do you need to advertise your physical link also when advertising your IRB's?
Nope, the physical interface in this example (ge-0/0/0) needs to advertised to form the OSPF neighborship with the remote device. Outside of that you only need to adverse the interfaces with IP addresses if you want those networks to be reachable from the remote device. Hope this helps!
256GB RAM, 3x900GB RAID SAS, for $320? Count me in! Maybe I should track this kind of item, as I am planning to organize my own datacenter (Linux, Docker, Proxmox and so on) for Dev and experimennts, CPU is *NOT* usually the main point but for CPU/Dollars you could use modern stacked Intel or AMD NUC instead. One could mix these old beast on a cabinet with a stack of modern NUC. An infra.
Haha yeah the amount of specs you can get on a old refurbished server is insane. Best of luck on your mini datacenter project!
@@jongreenit thanks dude! I am happy that the YT algorithm pointed me on this subject. Also subscribed, interested to watch what people that are 30 years younger will bring in the table.
No problem at all, and welcome to the community!
Is there a way to put an irb.10 into security zones? I keep getting an error that it can't be in mix modes.
On Juniper devices, Integrated Routing and Bridging (IRB) interfaces cannot be assigned to security zones. However, you can configure services on a per-zone basis to allow host-inbound traffic for device management. This allows you to control the type of traffic that can reach the device from interfaces bound to a specific zone. Security zones are logical entities that can contain one or more interfaces with similar security requirements. Interfaces act as a doorway through which traffic enters and exits a Juniper device, and zones regulate packets coming into or going out of the router. You can define multiple security zones based on your network needs, and the security zone type is implicitly set from the first interface configured for the zone. A security zone can be either a Layer 2 or Layer 3 zone, but it cannot contain a mix of both.
@jongreenit I'm guessing you can't do that on Eve-ng, because at my place of work. U can put an irb.10 into security zones.
I followed this to perfection, but i still cannot get my node to be able to be selected. It shows up in the list, but still greyed out. I also made sure the naming convention matched multiple times. I am trying to add EVO 23.R2. It shouldn't be any different (still uses virtioa.qcow2 it seems. Any idea?
Odd that its showing up grey for you - this is usually the case when theres a typo in the folder name, the naming scheme for vjunos switch running Evo is "vjunosevo" is that the name your naming the folder in the /opt/addons/unetlab/qemu directory? The actual os filename is still virtioa.qcow2
@@jongreenit I found the issue. My EVE was wayyyy out of date. I blew away the software, updated my ubuntu, installed version 5 and now good to go. Thank you! You are awesome!
Which one of the script at the repository if i want to try install cumunity edition
Hi Andial, for the community edition you can use "install-eve.sh"
@@jongreenit Ok thanks
Just hit cmd and ping the ip, If it pings back. Then call 911. 😂
Do you have any options to have Juniper Mist cloud for vEx switches to test in Eve-ng
Yes so as long as you provide internet access to the vEX switches within your EVE-NG lab you can successfully discover them within the Mist cloud. They should show up as a EX9214 switch.
thx bro
Great video man! I'm moving from doing Cisco for the last 13yrs to Juniper these last few days. I took a position supporting the government and everything we deploy is Juniper. I need to pickup the basic syntax and start working on VXLAN Mist, but not sure if this switch supports it.
Nice, glad to hear your you enjoyed the video. So the vEx is supported in Mist however Mist won't allow you to configure a evpn fabric using this device even though vxlan is supported. So this function may come in the future.
This really makes me feel less anxious about becoming a networking engineer in the near future
Glad to hear it, you've got this!
Hi Jon, Any alternative link to download switch and router image? Thanks
Try this direct link to juniper's software portal: support.juniper.net/support/downloads/?p=vjunos-router This second link should direct you to all of juniper's free virtual lab images: www.juniper.net/us/en/dm/vjunos-labs.html
I've been an electrician for 2 years and I recently got the job to install security camaras and access controls for a network company. Every since then I became more fascinated with IT and networking that I want to pursue to become a network engineer. What's cool is that my company is willing to guide me get my certs. I'm willing to make that change in my career
It's always nice when the company you're with provides an environment and opportunities for its employees to grow. Keep striving towards your goal full throttle, you''ll get there!
Congratulations on your success!! Did you skip the CCNA all together? You mentioned CCENT then CCNP didn't hear CCNA
Thanks, so I actually took the second part of the CCENT (CCNA), right before starting the internship. Cisco requires you to take their certification tracks in order, so unfortunately their was no skipping it :)
thx
I have a question:As network engering in cybersecurity, can i test like an app that can be hacked or put a viruse there?
Certainly, in the field of cybersecurity this role would be called a Penetration Tester - this person is responsible for finding and exploitable vulnerabilities in companies and reporting them.
@@jongreenit but as penetration tester what should I know?
I keep getting the following message " --[end kernel panic - not syncing: No working init found. Try passing init= option to kernel. See Linux Documentation/init.txt for guidance) Cannot enter any thing else after message.

I've tried following the steps and the IP still doesn‘t show up.

So many reviews of mini pc's are for gaming, nice to see more server oriented reviews of mini PC's. I think ~$300 barebones is actually a pretty good deal if you already have RAM and storage lying around, just wish someone would make an ECC compatible version, I'd pay a little more to get that functionality.
I noticed there weren't too many reviews out there as well. But yeah, a server that supports ECC RAM would be dope.
Looks pretty sweet, Jon. Are you planning to use it for GNS3 or Eve-NG, or is it for something else?
Hey Bryan yeah I actually already have this up and running in my lab as an EVE-NG bare metal server.
@@jongreenit If you find how many devices it takes to make it start to struggle, I’d appreciate hearing about it. I tried eve in a vmware instance on an old MacBook, giving it four cores and 8M ram. I’m sure you can guess how that went.
Yaaaeeee it worked 😂😂😂😂
What about for allowing certain network protocols? For example, a network scan that uses port 8834
Yes, firewall filters will allow you to restrict specific TCP/UDP ports aswell

Happy to help!
