- A step-by-step guide on how to assemble and fit a Super Seal Waterproof Wire Connector - no special tools required, just a pair of scissors and a set of pliers! These are fantastic 12V wire connectors for use in damp or wet environments and are widely used in automotive and marine electrical systems - great for incorporating into Car, Bike, Camper Van, Caravan, Truck, Boat and Kayak electrics. These connectors make it easy to disconnect and re-connect power to a device when needed. I personally use these within kayak electrics specifically within fish finder set ups to make it easy and quick to disconnect a 12V battery.
Shown in the video is the Tyco AMP Superseal 1 Pin Connector, but the same process of installation is used for the 2-pin, 3-pin, 4-pin etc. connectors too.
Apologies for the slight blur when holding the small components close to the camera - it struggled to get these little parts into focus!

Thanks for using the one-pin-connector. It is the only video I found, showing the function of the very small red thing on the jack!
Thank you for that, had a few of these in my toolbox and wanted to know how to use them. Great vid !
A great thank you from france!
Very good connection and is ..forever !
A well explained video, Thank you.
Helpful for the small details. I’m using much thinner gauge wire and it’s tricky as hell to push the connectors till they snap in place cos the wire bends.
The key is to crimp really precisely and firmly. And make sure you practice on some spare wire till you’ve got it. It took me 4 or 5 failed attempts before it work. However the connectors I have seem unable to hold a tight enough connection to keep the circuit active. If I push both parts tight it works but if I let go the catch doesn’t hold the connection enough. It can’t me more than a 10th of a mm but it’s enough and same outcome are trying 3 times with new connectors each time.
Thnx... male pins in the Female hausing now i know it
Could you make a video on how to de-pin these 1 pin connectors? Cant figure these out.
I seen in one of your passed videos that you sprayed your connections, would you use ACF-50 or Corrosion Block on fishfinder connectors and terminal pins.
Yeah both ACF-50 and Corrosion Block are fine for fish finder connections. If using on push-fit connectors it can pay to only apply a small amount to the terminal pins and try to wipe any excess from the socket so that the push-fit connectors will still have enough friction to hold in place. For connectors that have a locking collar then you can apply liberally without worry.
Cheers, thanks for the advice. Keep up the good work.👍
How do you take it apart gain
You can’t really as the terminals lock into place and won’t just pull again easily. It’s easiest to just cut the wires and start again with a new superseal!
