    I like the fact that the video has some errors in connecting them. Really life applications.

    I was getting so frustrated trying to fit these. Encouraged to see that it wasn't just me, they are very difficult to get all lined up. Great connectors once they're complete, but tricky to put together.

      i was also discouraged to fit my motorcycle DIY, LED modification using these connectors, then went to the garage instead.

    I add a bit of vaseline to the fittings which gives it a little better seal and keeps them from sticking if you have to disconnect them later.

    I personaly apply liberal amounts of the anti corrosion liquid called ACF50, both to the stripped wire end so it wicks down the copper strands, and to the silicon seals. It is a bit like WD40 on steroids, and is used as an anti corrosion film on aircraft and mototcycles. I also noticed that you had the ears that wrap around the seal get crimped in the same way as the copper, in that the ears got folded inwards on themselves. It is usual to have the seal ears overlap one another and get gently squeezed so that they form a circle around the outer part of the seal.
    Remember that when the connectors are separated water can get into the vital pins, so if you also give the internals a squirt of ACF50 and the water gets in, it will not be able to get to the metal of the pin and cause havoc ✅

    Waterproof = impervious to water. I’ve used plenty of these and consider them to be water resistant = able to resist the penetration of water to some degree but not entirely.

      yeah i just put together a 3pin connector as a test and found water inside after a submerge test. not great, but cheap, not something i would use on a car though

      @@itchy7727 You could try using a self-fusing tape, like "Tommy Tape" Electrical insulation and used to fix pipe leaks. However, you wouldn't be able to undo the connection again as the tape chemically fuses to itself. Brilliant stuff!

    • @mygiguser
      @mygiguser  Год назад

      once you silicone it you can't disconnect again. A connector is there to be able to do that, otherwise you wouldn't cut the wire.
