This is a very fine video that gives the full process of building these contacts. I was looking at switching to these connectors for a robot I'm working on (it's a boat), and I was having a bit of trouble making sense of all the parts in the connectors!
Hi Jonathan, We're happy you found our video helpful. Hopefully you managed to get them all made up easily for you boat but if you have any more issues let us know. :)
Biggest challenge right now is the outlay for yet another pair of crimpers. I have to sell the boss on dropping the cash for that, but I think I can make a case for it over the soldered non-sealing connectors we're using right now! Superseals are remarkably affordable in the waterproof/IPX7 connector space. Mostly we've used Bulgins, but they're no good for discrete wires.
The crimping tool is definitely the best tools for the job as it saves you damaging the seal and the terminal and it makes the job go quicker. These should make a very neat connection for your discrete wires and should look a lot better for you.
Can the pins be removed from the plastic holder if you accidently put the wrong wire into a hole and it needs to be removed? I have done this a few times and had to destroy the black holder and start again with the pins that were not damaged and replace the pins that were damaged along with a new holder.
great video, back ground music in videos is a distraction while speaking. every video I watch is ruined by back ground music when trying to listen to the narrator.
Thanks for your kind feedback, With the version shown in the video it would be 1.5mm² however we do stock another version that can handle up to 2.5mm².

It's a modern Triumph and I assume it uses econoseal but I'm not sure. Do you happen to know? Great video, will help me sort a few issues on the bike.
Econoseals will use a different type of terminal although it is very similar to SuperSeal terminals. They also have a different locking system to hold the terminals in place. Both types are available on our website however should you need either connector. www.12voltplanet.co.uk/multi-way-connectors.html

@7.30 I'm trying to put the terminal into the connector but can't seem to push it in to lock it in place. I am using the 4 pin plug and 1 and 4 was no problem locking the terminal in but 2 and 3 no chance of locking the pin in. It will just go in sort of half way but then will bottom out but it's not locked. What's the reason for this?
Sorted it, needed to use the flat screwdriver as you did in the video and give the back of the wires a tug to get them to lock in place. Kind of defeats the point of the seal though as the screwdriver digs into the seals and if not gentle (nearly impossible) enough can tear the "waterproof" seal but I guess it works so it's good enough.
Certainly an excellent video to clear up some confusion about assembly of these connectors. In view of Craig's accent, however, why not eliminate the music which makes it more difficult for an American to understand his every word?
We are aware of the feedback regarding the use of background music has received and have stopped using it. We are sadly unable to remove the music from this video at this time.
Hi Ankur, These units are not designed for that kind of usage. You would need to unlock the locking tab which is tricky and remove the seal without causing damage. Our recommendation is to use a brand new one to prevent damaging the connector.
If these are similar to factory installed connectors, you can remove the plastic retainer and use a thin paper clip to release the locking tab on the pin.
Sadly these connectors are not suitable for Solar Cable and we would recommend MC4 Connectors www.12voltplanet.co.uk/pair-of-malefemale-mc4-solar-connectors.html
Sadly they are very tricky to remove and quite often you can damage the housing by doing so. If you did wish to try however you could use a small flat blade screw driver to release the locking tab then pull the terminal and cable from the housing.
Hi Edgar, It sounds as though your terminals are either not locked into position or they may have become damaged. Try removing the terminals if they come out then it's simply that there not locking into place. Hope that helps and let us know how you get on.
Thx for the quick answer! Its a 4 Connection Superseal, all 4 did their 'Click' and are in the right direction, I can move them all 1mm to the front out and again 3mm back to the lock.
