Thanks for the input! We tried them out some months ago in SAAM FI, checking out its qualities and flaws through sparring, and we’ve pretty much reached the same conclusions as you!

Have you tried the thokk gloves? That is what they remind me of. I got a pair a month ago but haven't tried them out yet. They seem to be too bulky for a lot of lighter weapons and not bulky enough to protect for others. I wonder how well they might do for messer. I need to sit and break them in a bit before use. I bet you could hack something together to make them better for heavier weapons like the thokk have but by the time you do that you might as well have just gotten sparring gloves or spes lobster etc.

A couple of us have Thokk gloves, they are both similar and different.
Yes, if you have to modify them you're better off buying a pair of lobsters.

Have a pair since probably 5-6 months. They are good for saber and "ok" for sidesword. Definitly an improvement from the Red Dragons. BUT the leather is already pierced and the finish on top of the hard plate has gone off...

Hi, we're working on the second part, but long story short they're... lacking. They are almost good for synthetics, but not protective enough for steel.
