The long haired blonde wearing the yellow plaid dress is my grandmother. It's so wonderful finding old videos of her singing. Even now she doesn't sound all that different and she often sings when we're in the car. ❤
I just realized after resuming the video, the man in the yellow with the nighty cap is also my grandpa. That's how my grandparents met was singing together. It's hard to remember my grandpa also sang when he never does anymore.
This was a fun show that followed a young couple through their first year of marriage. Good cast, excellent guest stars, and musical numbers in each episode.
I heard that the dvd companies couldn't release the entire series on dvd because of copyrights of the music, but that was the same way with Laugh-in, too, and it's been released. Another show I wish they'd release is the 1982 kids' show The Good Book, in which Robert Morse and others put on bible stories like skits. The only dvd out right now has 3 episodes on it: Daniel, Jonah, and Proverbs. I don't know who really owns the rights to the show. The show about Daniel is on this site. Robert Morse singing and dancing: Go, baby, go! My dad (who was born in the same year as Robert Morse, and his name was also Robert) "introduced" me to him when I was just a teenager, about 30 years ago, but I've lost track of him until a few months ago. My dad died in 2014.
@@joesimon2029 I'm glad I got a notification of your comment. Here the Doodletown Pipers were joined by E.J. Peaker (who was great in "Hello Dolly") and Robert Morse. The two of them played Gloria and Bobby Dickson in the 1960s tv series "That's Life." As for the Pipers, one critic described their music as "dull-as-lint" yet at the same time "weirdly but undeniably charming." (Have you ever had a date like that?)
@@rr7firefly The re-VAMPED Doodletown Pipers appear in a Sears training film. By 1975 ish- they added a little "funky" in their music & dance !! REALLY funny if you can find it.
I never saw this. Thanks for posting. This is fantastic. When was this filmed? I was just looking for versions of the Friends and Lover song Reach Out In The Darkness and found this gem.

Never thought I would see clips from this. Thank you
I had the worst crush on E.J. Peaker in middle school, and couldn't wait to watch "That's Life" when every Tuesday night rolled around...
Groovy and doodley at the same time.

somewhere between fall 1968 and spring 1969, judging by the hair at least.

Yeah he's really tall and skinny. and is a groovy dancer.
