  • In this video we take on the notorious Montane Cheviot Goat which is a 57 mile, 24 hour race with 4,000 metres of ascent. It takes place in the Northumberland National Park and dips in to Scotland briefly before climbing back up to the summit of the Cheviot, the highest peak in the national park at 815 metres. Also, did I mention the bogs? and the pathless terrain? It all combines to make it a beast of an event that we've been wanting to do for a while. Sunshine, smiles, bogs and blizzards sums up this experience. We didn't quite get all the way around this time but we'll be back, we have a score to settle now.

Hello Dean, I hope you are keeping well. I just wanted to thank you for all of your efforts this year with such fantastic video content. You are one of my favourite youtube outdoors channels, and your videos are such a pleasure to watch. Wonderful scenery, fantastic commentary, and an absolutely infectious positive attitude. Congrats too on your achievements in the Edale Skyline Race, and the Montane Spine challenge. Those are no joke! Wishing you a very happy New Year, and all the best for 2023.

Thank you for watching Martin and for your kind words. 2022 was a great year, lots of goals ticked off and lots of fun had along the way. Through into that I landed a surprise new job with the Spine Race too, what a year it was. All the best to you for a great 2023 and thanks again for taking the time to watch and leave comments, I really appreciate it. Dean

@@DeanRead You are more than welcome Dean, you really deserve it. It's brilliant too that you landed a role with the Spine Race. Sometimes life gives us the opportunity to work at the very things we really love. And it's literally impossible to not love the Peak District, the Pennine's, and all of the beauty that Yorkshire has to offer! Here's to your many future adventures, and continued success. Kind regards, Martin.

Thanks for watching Justin, the weather did get a bit brutal when it got dark. Had to keep on top of navigation as the snow falling after CP2 made it hard to follow the paths / sheep tracks. The soup at CP1 was excellent, the fire there was very inviting which is lethal😂
