Speedy work to get this video up chaps. Buzzing to meet you both over the weekend.
I was up till 2am editing the video to get it out this morning. Felt like the right thing to do while people were out on the freezing cold hills! 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for the coffee and soup 😉💖 xx
Brilliant video lads. You certainly did the day justice. Love the mix of drone footage and the MRT kit talk. Keep up the great work 👍
Thanks guys. Was brilliant seeing you and really well done on your completion! 👏👏👏👏
Me thinks the Hare was gloating. Well done Lee and you'll beast it next year.
How dare you Steve.... 😉
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Fantastic effort Lee, smash it in 2023!
He will.. 😉👍👍👍
Good effort Lee ...always next time .
Thanks Les 😎👍
Great video. Shows the ups and downs that we all go through on an ultra race perfectly. Completed this in 2017 and that was enough for me 🤣🤣
Respect to you Michael. It's an absolute monster!!
Fantastic as always, so unlucky Lee , nothing worse than DNF through an injury knowing you could have smashed it !
Thanks Graham. Lee will be back next year! 😉👍👍
Great video lads. Rest up well Lee. Cheers for the can of coke Graham 👍
You're welcome Macca. Thanks for watching 👍👍👍
Great video! Cheers for being out there Graeme and the offer of the Coke on route, should have taken you up on that. Lee, no shame in pulling out when knees are at stake. Well done for getting that far. Thank you both for the recce videos as well, very helpful.
You're very welcome Daniel. Thanks for supporting the channel 👍😎

Excellent video guys, my favorite one yet! well done Lee!! great coverage!!
Yes... this was also my favourite video Glen! Seeing Lee DNF is like an early Christmas present!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Cracking video. Loving the banter.
Thanks David 👍👍😎
I’ve made a donation to the Mountain Rescue 👍
Ah.. that's brilliant David. Thanks so much 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💖
Wow, what an incredible video dear friends! The combination of drone footage and discussion about MRT gear really added to the visual and technical appeal of this winter ultra-run. I'm sure it was a true test of both your physical and mental endurance in the rugged Cheviot Hills. Keep up the amazing work!
It's a beast Mihai!! Hahahaha
Great video and respect to Lee and all who take part in this event. Cheers. Eddie.
Thank you Eddie 😎👍
fantastic effort LEE
Thanks Andy 👍👍
thanks guys. great video. Big hugs to Lee for the effort man. My left knee was screwed coming down from the cheviot which mad any steep down hill hell on earth. Got it done though in 20 hours. about 1-2 hours slower than I guess was possible for me. thanks for the videos this year though. super helpful and kept me smiling!
Thanks Jonathan. Well done on your completion and thanks for the support. 👍😎
Epic event, very good film-making. I know how Lee felt with the knee issue, walking the last 7 miles of the 33m Ulfkil Stride, several years ago, I realised it would be a real struggle to get back to Buckden, ploughed on at a much slower pace and went over the 11 hour limit (my brother managed to do it under 11 h).
Thanks Bobby. We all have 'off' days dont we?
Thanks for watching 😎👍
Great video guys! First time I think I've seen Lee not in shorts 😂
Would love to understand more about the kit you take/run in, how many layers etc.
Even Lee feels the cold... sometimes. 🤣🤣
I will ask him to answer your questions 👍👍
Hi Karen, thems shorts I’ve got on still promise 😂 with long socks. The reason for the long socks isn’t for insulation though it’s more for the dead fern/heather etc that you’ll scrape your legs to bits on.
Kit wise, I started with a base layer and an Icarus jacket and that was wrong!! I was far too hot!! I was soaking after the 1st 2 miles. I changed at barrowburn and was much more comfortable in my spine jacket with a base layer underneath, even on the top of Cheviot in the low temps. Gloves and gortex mits kept my hand perfectly warm. Your feet however I’m sorry to say will be cold most the time in the bog areas. Advice would be to pack spare socks and even change your shoes at the aid stations.
Best thing you can do to stay warm and happy though is to eat!! And drink!! I was mentally fine and comfortable when I pulled out. My only problem was my knees 🤷♂️
Everyone’s different though and tbh the only way you’ll know what works for you is trial and error.
Hope that helps a bit 😬
I absolutely loved that video, from the 'Im knackered' to the 'final decision'! It was a heroic effort and I have to say the run looked ghastly...rain, snow, freezing tempetures...wow...and through it all, amusing commentry and great film work. @Lee - You did really well, I mean really well and well done for cutting it short. I loved the fact that you changed your mind to see if you could get to check point charlie but honestly I was glad that you called it when you did. I am gutted for you but you have to look after yourself, you only have two legs in this life! @Graeme - That looked like a good cup of coffee :) well done gents.
It was the best coffee ever! But Lee's DNF tasted so much sweeter... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@NorthernFellRunning Harsh but i laughed anyway 😃
Great video. Just found your channel and it's superb. What would be very interesting I think is for you to do a kit video - Favourite shoes, base layers, vest/bags ,rain jackets etc. Thanks
Hi. Thanks for the feedback and glad to have you on board.
We've got loads of ideas for the new year and will certainly add yours to the list 👍👍👍
no shame in pulling out - fells bogs and mud will be there forever - you only get one set of knees - r and r and plan for next year regards
Thanks for watching 👍👍

It certainly is a tough race! 🤣🤣👍
@@NorthernFellRunning lol yes so not for me - i can even run for a bus 😀
Are all the hills around there bogs..
The course went through some difficult sections. Not all of the Cheviots are boggy... in the summer... when it dries up... a bit... 🤣🤣🤣
