- Sad but true:
I’ve shop around to look for unique stores and boutiques the more I see is they’re closing or working on appointment only the big box stores are taking over.
I am always been a boutique shop and I support small businesses yes I enjoy Thrifting and there used to be a time when it was a lot of thrift stores are not just Value Village
that the big boy push them out to I guess. 🤷🏼♀️

Such a nice store! A wide variety of merchandise. I strolled through Goodwill yesterday. Their prices are ridiculous! To much for donated second hand items.

Mama Brooke, I wished that you could have purchased that hand blown candlestick holders, I have a few sets. As the sun shines through it, it gives off a beautiful luster. Also, I was shopping along with you on this lazy Sunday afternoon. I spotted a few pieces of blue and white chinoiserie pattern that I would have purchased for myself. Looked very cold where you live. I live in southern California. We never get snow on the ground here where I live and we have had a pretty wet winter but except for that we’re doing fine. Thank you so much my dear friend for sharing where you live with us.
We have the best winter on record until three days ago . But we have the best summers in the world because we’re surrounded by five Great lakes so our gardens just flourish . We’re blessed with 4 true seasons. We get to see the rebirth the glory of spring ,summer Full bloom, fall is over the moon with all the beautiful colours and then we have a few months of winter . Have to take the give with the bad … 🌸🍃🇨🇦

Well, you know we have some stores that are still hard to get into because of Covid. It’s hard to believe that we’re still having issues with some of our stores. Also not all of them just a couple.

Oh my gosh, what a fun video to watch. I always ask before filming. Also the worst I can say is no and the best if they can say yes and that way I know where I can come and film. Mama Brooke, I’m born & raised here in So. California, recently been to the Long Beach Vintage Swap meet and the prices are so inflated, it’s crazy & was really disappointed.
I would highly recommend the Rose Bowl Vintage Swapmeet! It’s held every 2nd. Sunday of each month, rain or shine. It’s HUGE and so much better, affordable pricing due to all the competition of a wide assortment of vendors.
Another place I highly recommend is King Richard’s in Whittier. It’s a large indoor antique warehouse.
You can Google both for the reviews & hours of operation.
The prices at our local thrift stores are insanely high compared to your Value Village stores. Canada is wonderful and hope 🙏🏽 to visit one day.

When I was growing up, as children and women around us were very much into textiles of all sort, embroidery, lace making...textures and colors and even the way they smelled, felt so delicious :) now days, I still want to do it, but don't get around to it thoughI do collect a little of all sorts of things.. I enjoyed your seeing your shopping. Food too. I am wondering if you are taking any supplements?

I just had blood work done my counts are perfect no high blood pressure ,cholesterol nothing .
I just have one issue. And that is Trigeminal neuralgia .💗
I could be mistaken, but the bowl of medals at 1:15 look like volksmarch medals from Germany. I used to have of collection from the ones I did while stationed there back in the early 80's. I haven't seen those in years!

Wow your thrift store was full the one I went to yesterday was on the lean side....Those fancy stores I think I would call them and just ask if they were going to be in the store any time and see what they say...sometimes they come in to do stuff so I would just see what they say...you just might find something ...I was disappointed when you did not go over to the Valentines Day display...I have been looking for stuff to decorate a little..thanks for the good video love the pink and green that's what I'm doing in a bedroom...

I grew up on tobagins, we had one with a red pad on it and a yellow rope, got sold 20 years ago, it was old loved it. used to sled with the old wooden sleds and mom had a small sleigh, victorian era. Urn is beautiful, maybe you could have got her down a few hundred?
Had an old pink wall phone and a cream and aqua rotary phone, sold the pink one with moms house when she passed. I have a hand painted iron mammie figurine. They are illegal to sell around here.

I love hitting all the little shops in our area. Boy you city folk, sure over pay, $45 for a teacup, they would all be under $25 here.
Yup Toronto is very expensive City like New York I guess ,one bed apt rents for $2300 to $3000 a month a coffee is $6 it’s out of control. But I’m a thrifter so I can find beautiful teacups for $10 . Have a fabulous day loves Mama Brooke
