The camera work is like a little kid videotaping his dad snoring. Also, she makes a little slip around 4:13 and you can see her react, which I feel is really cool. But of course, amazing piano playing.
I love watching Martha play anything because she is a different breed. But nobody knows about this Canadian pianist Naida Cole. She has the best interpretation of this whole work in my opinion.
It's interesting to hear how many things don't go quite right here. One of the pieces one has to practice all the time to have any great accuracy. Reminds me of the Prok 3 in Paris where she say something like, "It's not going well. I don't know why."
@@MaxLima1 Thanks! That explains it. Programming Gaspard and Rach 3 with Argerich's level of nuance and detail that close together is asking the impossible...more or less.
@@MikeN275 Hahahaha agreed. This was for a tv program, she had to play the 3 movements of Gaspard, but she was so tired that she ended up not playing 'ondine' and 'le gibet' in full.

I always figured this was from a different outing. Fascinating! I understand now. Do you know if she stopped playing solo not long after this? I could imagine this being a part of brewing of the decision or even one of the back breaking straws.
