    I didn’t expect a 5.5 second 0-60, nor John’s impression of V8-like torque from this 48V hybrid setup. Handling impressions seem solid as well and almost 3-series-like. I was skeptical of the W206 due to the 4-cylinder-only powertrain options and cheapening of the plastics down low (all hard where 205’s were soft). But this C is proving itself to be worthy. The C63 continues to prove that MB is without peer in coaxing insane power and speed out of a 4-cylinder prime mover.

      This a C300 though it barely has anything to do with the engineering of a C63.

    • @jaymum23
      @jaymum23 2 года назад +2

      @@DEVILTAZ35 Other than the base platform no, it doesn’t share much. But if it’s this fast, then the C63 will be insane. I’ve already seen the C43 clocked at 4.2 seconds to 60, and it’s down 270 hp and 380 (!) Ft-lb of torque to the 63. The C63 should break into the 2s.

      This performs exactly like my 15 year old 2007 G35x Sedan. Same 0-60 and I got 14.2@98mph at the drag strip. Of course 99% of people buying this car will rarely if ever push it past half throttle and could care less about straight line performance.

    Test drove one of these about a month ago, didn't really notice the overly soft break in my experience. The lack of real buttons anywhere on the interior however did largely ruin the driving experience for me. When I have to focus on just trying to adjust the volume something is wrong, that should be the last thing I need to worry about when I am driving. I am sure it becomes less distracting with more time but I honestly do not understand why Mercedes is forcing these capacitive buttons on consumers when literally no one seems to like them more than a standard button.
    Anyway, hope you test the face-lifted 330i soon to hear what you have to say about that!

    Those two tablets slapped on the dashboard are a very cheap touch and do the interior no favors. I wouldn't mind an integrated screen in the middle of the dash for all the modern functionality that are found in cars these days, but I much prefer the dials behind the steering to have remained analog with maybe a small display in between them and buttons/knobs instead of touch controls. The old Mercedes interiors are vastly classier than this imo.

    When I was a kid in the late 1980's, a car with power windows and locks was fancy. If the sun visors had illuminated mirrors too you were really a bad a$$. Now cars have way more computing power than my dad's old Pentium II could have imagined. A 486 motherboard! 32 bits! Holy AOL messenger Batman!
