Tyler trying to make espresso with Folgers coffee
...
Is honestly the most Tyler thing I can think of.
i loved equally his comment of "oh, must have had TacoBell"
Made me laugh out loud when it happened haha
It hurt my soul.
it hurt my feelings in a way I can't explain.
And then wondered why people drink espresso.🤣
Just a note: items to cool drinks are typically designed to keep your already cold drink from warming up, rather than to cool your drink from room temperature.
I was just coming to comment that, he tends to take directions out of context
Well that's dumb. They shouldn't be called "items to cool drinks" they should be called item to maintain cool Temps.
I use this at work so I have a slightly cooler drink on the way home !
As true as that is it shouldn’t be advertised as something to cool a drink. It should be advertised as something to keep a drink cool….
@@rumbleisbetter Did it claim to cool drinks? I thought it was supposed to keep them cool or hot. Not actually bring them to cool or hot temps. If you have any other cupwarmer, that's all it does, it maintain a temp. Cool initials, btw. ;-)

That is a perfect description!
Tyler, for the espresso machine, it works best with espresso beans. But they have to be ground for an espresso machine. Respectfully I don’t think regular coffee would be the same.
He doesn't like coffee in general so it'd be even worse anyway for him lol
Good quality, freshly ground espresso beans can have a sweeter taste than the much more bitter taste from old pre-ground Folgers cans.
Yeah of all coffees to try that out with, folgers would not be my choice since it is kind of like battery acid lol sorry forgers fans!
There is no such thing as espresso beans, only coffee. But it must be ground to a precise setting based on the bean, freshness, time of day, pressure, mood...
Indeed, Also accurately ground beans, finely ground, and fresh, all very important for a good espresso.
I love how Tyler continues to grab stuff that just came off something super hot and still be surprised when he burns his fingers.
I literally said out loud "well yeah dummy" when he grabbed the pizza

Don't know if you figured it out on your own or not, but if you want the "perfect pizza" just leave it on the Pizza Maker for a little longer, 2-5 extra mins with the lid open, it'll only make the bottom crunchy
HE IS A FOOL. EVERYTHING CONFUSES HIS PUBIC HAIR HEAD. DUH.
I think the digiorno is thicker then most pizza. It takes longer to cook. Usually I always cook it 5 minutes longer then what the box says. A thin crust probably comes out perfect for 15 mins.
crunchy pizza is far from perfect. it should be crispy but still bread not a glorified crouton.

Tyler’s reaction to the crema on his Folgers “espresso” was pretty hilarious. Also, I’m not sure why someone thought putting a phone charger and an unstable surface for warming drinks beside each other was a brilliant idea.

We should get Tyler to try pickles in the hot dog cooker. Sounds like something he'd love to do.
I like the pizza maker/warmer as it can be a multi-purpose appliance. Since both sides heat up, I can see it being used as a regular grill; pancakes, eggs, bacon, crepes heck even a steak or chops. The hotdog machine is great for cookout or movie night & a cute novelty item. Thanks for reviewing. Be well.
Yep,indoor grill and cookplate.
Bless his country heart, he had no idea that there is a difference between coffee and espresso lol
Coffee. "It tastes like an acid." OK no one tell him that coffee is acidic.

Went to the cup warmer listing to see if it says it'll keep a can cold or make it cold & it does seem to claim it'll cool the soda (under a photo of a can on the warmer/cooler). I'd be happy w/ keeping it cold though. People were complaining that the phone charger wouldn't work if your phone was in a case & whining that the fan was too loud.
Edit: The listing also seemed to say you could use an aluminum mug instead of just the one included. Seems to me like it'd make the handle hot but I thought I'd offer up that tid bit of info.
Well, that’s a bold claim from the listing. I really would like to understand the logic on cooling something from the bottom up. Probably never will. 🤷🏼♀️ thank you for doing the research tho. Tisk tisk seller..

I'm not sure if you are being ironic, or perhaps making a play on words that went whoosh over my head, but the original/correct usage is from Shakespeare, and "bated breath" is the correct usage. In this usage, "bated" means restrained. As in, you are holding your breath in...

Tyler knows the meaning of the word “ HOT “. Pay up all you doubters.

The idea of having to buy preground espresso beans reminds me of a comedian bit where a customer sends back a cold coffee and the waiter says, "You didn't tell me you wanted me to heat it."
Should try the coffee mug warmer with an opened can, might make a difference.
Thats what I thought.... the hot air in it has nowhere to go.
I'm assuming the dome shape of the bottom of the can wasn't actually touching all of the cold surface, since it looked pretty flat. The can being open or sealed wouldn't make that big of a difference if any at all
Warm carbonated soda vs flat cold soda? That's a tough call
@@sarahwatts84 the hot air doesnt need to go anywhere...its a liquid

I really like the hot/cold plate. Only thing is that a can has a rounded bottom and isn’t making surface contact with the plate so the rim is the only thing contacting the cold so yeah it would take a long time that way. A flat bottom cup like the one provided would be a lot more efficient
The plate says "remove....can....something" - I'm pretty sure you're supposed to remove that plate cover to chill cans.

Probably need a cozie around the can for insulation. To much metal exposed to the air compared to the cooling section.
You'd have to put the cozie on upside down so the can's metal bottom would touch the metal warmer/cooler I would think.
For the pizza thing couldn't you just leave it open so that just the bottom crisps up more?
He literally just needed to leave the pizza in for a few more minutes. The directions say 20 minutes for a reason.
That would take common sense and a bit of intelligence, two things this guy clearly doesn't have.
@@benstanfill363 He rightly tests these things as directed because they always claim they can cook whatever faster than normal.

My wife and I got a very similar pizza maker for our wedding. We love it, the digiorno pizzas we typically do for 20 minutes but thinner pizzas we cook in 10. We also use if for anything from pancakes to steaks. Very convenient.
Just remember to “remove the lid when heat the canned beverage” 😂
What if the can was pre-chilled? Interested to know if it would keep it cool
This needs to be done. I agree will it keep an already cold can cold??
That is how it is supposed to be used.
@@HolyDarkDeath that's not how it's supposed to be used, it is advertised as cooling down warm drinks. The bigger problem with the aluminum can was that it had barely any surface area touching the cooling mechanism due to the concave bottom.
Like, on the Amazon page it literally says "on a hot day place your drink on it to bring it down to 41°f in only a couple minutes". Not "keep your drink cool", but "make it cool".
"The microwave does the same thing."
**Shudders**
Microwaved hot dogs. Ew.
A neat idea for the pizza maker: since both "pans" are heated, if it can get warm enough, you could use it as a double-camping skillet. Eggs on one, meats on the other.
It works really well for this.
You could make a mean pancake with that pizza cooker
The toaster oven might be smoking and smells strange because you're supposed to run it for 30 minutes or so, at least that's what the instructions say for a toaster oven I got from Walmart. There are chemicals in there from where it was never used for what ever reason.
I'm on break in a amazon van while watching this video lmao
Hello tyler, the word "pizzaiolo" on the pizza maker is the italian word that refers to the dude that makes/cooks pizzas
The pronounciation is "pēt-sə-ˈyō-(ˌ)lō" for english speakers
he mispronounced his mispronunciation. lol i can’t
Espresso is made using finely ground coffee beans that are tightly packed into a portafilter, which is then inserted into an espresso machine. Hot water is then forced through the compacted coffee grounds at high pressure, resulting in a concentrated shot of coffee that is typically served in small demitasse cups. Espresso is generally brewed using a ratio of 1 to 2 tablespoons of coffee per 2 ounces of water, and the brewing process usually takes between 20 to 30 seconds. Espresso has a stronger, bolder flavor than drip coffee, and is often used as the base for other coffee drinks, such as cappuccinos, lattes, and Americanos.
For someone who doesn't really like coffee.... if you had poured that into some warm milk, you would have had a very different experience.
You basically drank super-concentrated coffee. The foam on top is the "crema", which is completely normal for espresso.
The crema layer is an important part of the espresso shot because it provides a layer of sweetness and a smooth texture to the coffee. It also helps to preserve the aroma and flavor of the coffee, and can be used as an indicator of the quality of the espresso shot. A thick, creamy crema layer is usually a sign of a well-prepared shot of espresso, while a thin or absent crema layer may indicate a poorly prepared shot.
The reason it didn’t cool the can as much as the included mug is because it only had the thin ring touching but the mug had the entire bottom touching so it had a lot more surface area. But it’s not really to heat/cool drinks from room temperature, it’s to keep cool drinks cool and hot drinks hot. So if you took a cold can and put it on there it would probably keep it cold. I bet it’d be awesome for beer just saying lol
The reason it did not cool the can down was because he did not follow the directions.. CANS MUST BE OPENED... (Or at least that is what I think is going on) Heat rises but a sealed can heat cannot escape except through induction through the metal of the can...
I felt uncomfortable during the espresso part
He is literally useless when it comes to coffee.... that looked like an awesome espresso
@@veridico84 yeah, but I felt weird when he was making it lol
Tyler, my dawg. Firstly let me start by saying, I love you, and this channel. I have a lot of respect for you. Now. The cup heater/chiller. As we all know, heat rises and cool drops. It would make sense then, keeping that little fact in mind, that the heater would heat the whole drink, and not cool the whole drink. Secondly, which secondly is a word. Now secondly, as I’ve read in other comments, the chiller is only designed to keep a drink cool once it is already cooled. What should have been done, to follow the manufacturing design, is to use a cooled can and put one on the cooler, and one next to the apparatus, measuring them both in the same time period. That would have been a great way to test the design of the drink cooler function. That being said, great video/idea. Very entertaining. I would be interested in seeing these videos more in the future. Maybe a mini series on the channel?

"EWW" "There's no way people are just drinking this straight" cracked me up man. 😂😂🤣🤣 your the best man
the can only really touches the cooling plate by the bottom ring, and that low contact area is probably why the cooling speed is so slow - not much area for heat transfer. honestly shows that the can thing was added later in the design, and the concave bottoms of cans were not accounted for.

What if you put the can in the cup? There isn't any insolation on that aluminum can, so the room is keeping the can warm. You could also try putting the can in a koozie and turn it over while it is still sealed to try to cool it.
I like the idea of putting the can in the mug to cool it off. Would love to see if it fits.
For the espresso shot the coating is the oils in the coffee and if it tasted acid it could be mean maybe pumping too quick isn’t the right method

😂
Watching you rotate a blazing hot pizza over rotating the cutting board is comedy on it's own.
The cup has an aluminum inner liner surrounded by an insulated outer shell. The soda can does not have that outer layer of insulation. Thus the device was actually able to cool a room temp beverage (as others mentioned, this device is not really designed to heat or cool beverages, but actually to maintain a heated or chilled state) effectively in the insulated cup. But the chill applied to the bottom of the aluminum can because much of the cooling went into the atmosphere (room air) due to the fact that the can was not insulated. If you slipped a bottomless coozy over the soda can the result would have been much better.
The smart hotplate is a peltier-effect device much like the low power fridges. Super inefficient, but it works.

I think the can just warmed up because its aluminum and its a great conductor of heat. If you put the can in the cup it may have worked better because it would contain the thing in a smaller area and keep the heat of the room from getting to the can.
