Love the approach you took on leaving the original markup with numbers! It's so refreshing to see a restoration done with such attention to detail and preservation of the original features. I'm glad you didn't opt for digitizing and printing a new one, it's great to see the history and character of the piece preserved.
Thank you so much 😌 I really wanted to blast the yellow parts before printing new labels… But it would have been a mess. I really wonder how those lithographs were made back then 🤔
Fantastic attention to detail! Rescue & Restore did a restoration on a very similar toy years ago. It's a real shame his YT channel has gone cold with no new videos in over 2 years now. The last video has 75 million views! Thank goodness we have you and the other top notch restorers to keep us fans fed!
Thank you! I saw this thumbnail and swore I'd seen this vid a few months ago. But I too follow Rescue & Restore and it was his vid I saw. Glad I'm not crazy😮
As a born and raised Michigander, I'm always thrilled to see a piece of local history restored. I don't know about collectors in Europe, but I can tell you antique toy collectors here don't consider their collections complete unless they have at least one Wyandotte tin toy in it. Beautifully done restoration.
Not only do I love watching your technique but also the wonderful variety of things you restore. I have never seen any of them before. It's so interesting to see them. 😊👍
Just a beautiful restoration! Everything looks great and the clear coat on the board really did improve the look and certainly protected. You do great work and I always look forward to a new restoration from you. Thanks for sharing this.
Splendid restoration job you did on the Slip Ball game. You kept the original score markings intact rather than stripping the old paint off. It looks much better and it works like a charm too. That is excellent work.
Always my favorite to watch❤️ Need more people to have the opportunity. Ive enjoyed watching the channel grow over the last couple years ive been subscribed
As always there is the tripple joy of watching your videos. On one hand there is your restoration talent, watching you do your TheFabrik-things I will never be able to do, it's just fun to watch. Then there's your filming and editing that I still think has short-movie-festival-level. And then there are all these toys you find, so simple, but still so cleverly thought out and built, it's just so cool to see them come back to life. Thx again for putting all these efforts into these videos!
This brought back memories of being a 5 year old at my Aunt Margie’s house back in the mid-sixties, and this exact game was the only toy she had. Nothing worked on it, and the one marble she had was too big to fit in the holes when shot. Those were long boring sundays afternoons. I cannot say I am glad to see another one again, but the work you did on it was outstanding. Thank you for another excellent video. Dan
Omg I was tripping so hard I swear I've seen this exact pinball toy restored so I had to check my watch history. Sure enough 3 years ago @rescue & restore did this same machine! Great work either way.
If anyone else is having a major déjà vu you're not alone, Rescue & Restore made a video 3 years ago working on (I think) the exact same model of pinball machine. Took me a good 5 minutes to figure out why this video was so uncanny lmao. R&R's video ↓ ruclips.net/video/BkmooQ8pmD8/видео.html
I'm seriously amazed by what they managed to do by just bending sheets of metal. I just don't get how the scoring mechanism work! (good choice to just clear coat the original artwork).
Beautiful! Just beautiful! Reeaally impressed over here Mr. The Fabrik 👏👏👏, which isn't a surprise for your standards, but you're still a tough act for yourself to follow 😁. Thanks man 🙏. 😎
I knew I recognize this thing. It was the same thing the Rescue and Restore channel did. Very nice work! I look forward to seeing what other things you restore. Am personally a big fan of electronic stuff from the old days. Saw this oven that rescue and restore did, now that was fantastic! If you could do more videos involving those kinds of things, I would really appreciate it. I’ve seen a ton of your videos.
Love this. Really excellent work! I’m not as much of a fan of the close wire mesh - it covers the playing area and score too much for me (maybe a more open mesh only just smaller than the marble would be better?). Can’t wait for the next upload - thanks.
They don't make toys like that anymore! I miss those ... I'm wondering why some of the metal tabs were folded over and others were just twisted? Why didn't the manufacturer just fold them all over? That was very well-done! Thank you! - Muddypaw 🐾
I always thought it was "Skee-Ball"...never heard it called "skip ball" before, though that name actually makes much more sense. Is Skee-Ball a branding thing like Kleenex whose name has replaced it's more utilitarian actual name question mark
Awesome work! One question: I've got an old weather vane (weathercock) - you know, a flat figure of a bird that rotates because of the wind, and a cross with letters that show north, south, east, west. The letters are made of thin tin metal and hollow (empty inside), and they are quite rusty and fragile. Also they have some holes and cracks along the edges. I wanted to squeeze/pour something like epoxy inside those letters to make them sturdy and kinda solid, so afrerwards I could put some metal filler on them, sand and paint them, drill some holes and fix them back on the weathercock. What do you think would be the best way to fix the letters? I understand the epoxy might not be the best option. Thank you very much!
@@TheFabrik I know JB Weld, used it quite a lot. But I suspect these two work best when you have solid base, so they can fill some cavities or cover holes. In my situation the base itself is very fragile - tin letters made of thin metal, rusty and with many holes. That's why it's critical to enforce the whole structure first. Dence putties won't work as I won't be able to fill hollow letters with them, and if I just try to fill the numerous holes, the fix won't hold as the surrounding metal is bad, so no point in it. What do you think?
I live in Wyandotte County, Kansas. It was named for the Wyandot Indians who were relocated here from Ohio. If anybody ever discovers where this unit was manufactured I hope they get on here and tell me, please.

I second that!
Agreed. Really nice restoration.
Damn right!
Thank you so much 😌 I really wanted to blast the yellow parts before printing new labels… But it would have been a mess. I really wonder how those lithographs were made back then 🤔
I came here specifically to say this. I was also shocked that the original wood pieces were kept! Such a great job!

@@AkihikoTakebaSame. This popped up in my recommend and I kept ignoring it because I thought I'd watched it before.
I like how you don't BS around with the powder coat. Nice, heavy, and shiny. 👍
Thank you !!!
I was just thinking how his powder coat turns out better than most ive seen. Nice and smooth and even

We didn’t have such toys in Europe !!
they made some pretty neat stuff before the age of plastics
Difference is it was far more expensive to manufacture. But I'm happy that they're able to be properly preserved
Another nice save of a toy from days-gone-by. Love how you find all these obscure playthings and re-introduce them to your audience. 👍
Games didn't need lights and sounds to be fun. Excellent job
Aaahhh - the powder coating melting point! TYVM ✌🏻🎨☕️
Very cool, keeping the original artwork. great job mate
So much love and attention to details for a piece of metal... it's amazing!!! My inner perfectionist is happy. Please continue.

Very nicely done! Beautiful refinishing, excellent process to keep the original markings. As always, great job! Thanks for the entertainment!

I love the counting mechanism, really cool design.
Great work on the restoration

Thank you very much ! I was mostly paint job. I have this toy for such a long time ! Now I can play with it 😉
I like the fact you kept the point wheel original. That was a really nice touch. Kudos!
I really enjoy your restoration work not only by watching, but also by listening to the original sound! Keep it up! 😊👍🏻

It must be the first pinball machine. You have done a very good work on it. Thank you 😃

Amazing toy and a fabulous restoration - any model trains to come
The home version of Skee Ball! Love it and nice job too!
That was beautiful. I especially liked the second red powder paint coat - attention to detail.

Jolie restauration de ce "flipper" ancien. On a envie de le voir fonctionner et on est pas déçu...Bravo !
Damn! This thing is OLD SCHOOL!
Aku pernah punya permainan ini ditahun 1975 yang lalu, sangat menyenangkan. ❤️❤️❤️
To me the best part of these videos is the sandblasting. Don't know I just like watching the sandblasting.

Clever keeping the score plate original.
Is there no problem sand blasting can’t solve?
It can't solve a broken marriage, that's for sure.

Felt genuine childlike wonder when the white powder coat turned clear in the oven
🎉

well done :)
Great stuff, although I think the visible tabs would've looked better if they'd been bent over again, instead of waiting to snag on something.

Please understand that I know nothing about this skill as I ask this question: why is it necessary to wet sand after powder coating? Thank you!
Thank you ! Just to remove remaining dents and scratches. It gives a satin finish too ;)

Looks like a gmod prop before restoration lol
What kind of media and psi are you blasting the metal with?
