Very nice job. I'm impressed that you went for the full restoration. A lot of times I see equipment that is meant for food contact being restored with non-food safe finishes. After all "it's only meant for display". A true restoration restores the complete functionality of the object, including being able to use it for the original purpose. Fantastic work.

I think what I learned most from watching this was I had lost a level of "attention to detail" when it comes to my work (I work in tech). Watching this video there were a few times where I wondered "but does that need to be done?" and that was never a question for you. there is a pride and level of attention to detail that you pay to things that others might overlook or pass by and I will take that lesson with me into my daily work. it's a subtle reinforcement of "if it's worth doing, it's worth doing right" thanks for another awesome vid.

Watching this for the 3rd time today. I also restore old things as my profession and love to put your videos on to play in the background as I work, especially doing something tedious like hand sanding small objects at my bench. My only critique is the color, I would have used black just because that would be slightly more correct for the time. Other than that I thank you for your effort of breathing a new life into an old object. I think the person who assembled this slicer on the production line back in 1883 would smile and be proud to see the justice you've done this piece. Might I suggest experimenting using coffee as a food safe wood stain in the future? I typically brew mine INCREDIBLY strong, to the point of being disgusting and undrinkable, but it produces some amazing color that is non-toxic and transforms beautifully with age

I read a comment where you complained about the camera changes and I want you to know that I try my best to find the balance between the young generation who like it fast and the other generation who like it slow . I have people who told me in the comments that the video are bored because the shoots took it too long and I have people that told me they want longer footages or subtitles because they can’t read it. I love how you describe what you're doing, and the products you're using. Just like most of the people in these comments I watch a lot of restoration videos, and I have to try to figure out what they're doing, or some will speak throughout the video which I don't really care to hear. Thank you for such fantastic work!

Lots of restoration channels but very few as good as this one. 👍🏻 That slicer is better after restoration than when when it came out of the factory back in the day. Amazing.

I love your resrotations and the restorations of many other of these channels. I also like reading the Woes from the Patina crowd.

In my country, we call that meat delicious 😋. Beautiful job on the slicer, and thank you for sharing the work you do restoring all these items. I'm looking forward to the next video.

Some food grade wax where the movable part meets the base will make the slicing very easy. Outstanding restoration!

Very nice restoration. Im glad you did the wood with sand paper instead of sand blasting. I was hoping you would nickle plate all the metal but it still turned out well after powder coating.
