    My pedal came off on the water. I used my fishing pliers and screwed it back on, used it the rest of the day no problem. That was the second time it has happened to me. So adding blue lock tight, so it does not happen again. Thank you for the video.

    My wife and I are on our 2nd set of 180 drives after buying the 2019 outbacks. Both wore out the spines. That is a real problem that needs to be mentioned- they start making noise, squalky sound that just gets louder, then eventually more problems. Our replacement drives are starting to do the same thing after just a few trips out.

      Thank you for the heads up David. I saw your post on the FB group. I fish in shallow marshy areas, so this is a concern for me. One of the reasons I bought a Hobie was because of the ability to flutter kick in shallow areas. I will make sure I pay close attention to this. I really appreciate you sharing your experience. I'll make sure to take video if this starts to happen to my drive.

    Problem I ran into with my drive is when I went to put it into reverse shifter broke off, its made out of crappy plastic. I made replacement shifter out stainless steel rod.

    Hey man, I have a brand new 2018 180 drive. Recently I've been getting a clicking sound/feeling in the left pedal. It doesn't happen all the time, it will randomly happen but it's when I extend my leg out all the way I can hear/feel the click just in the pedal not in the drive itself. Any idea's to what this might be or how to fix it?

    • @TomyTekOutdoors
      @TomyTekOutdoors  5 лет назад

      To be honest, I'm not sure what is going on. Does it feel like the pedal is too tight or too loose? If you can replicate the problem on land, I would try to listen to it carefully to try and pinpoint exactly where the sound is coming from. Could something be stuck in a part of the pedal that is causing it? I would also see what happens if you tighten or loosen the nut on the pedal.

And my wife wants to start too to hang out more together. Which is awesome. I hear Mattawoman gets crowded, but I’m hoping that if I get there at like daybreak, I can enjoy some fishing before it gets crazy crowded. Especially because I’m limited to weekends for the most part with over an hour drive.

      I had this exact problem this weekend, i've used my kayak about a dozen times and this weekend half way through my trip right pedal started sliding off to the right.... had to keep it pushed to the left..... I did put the nut back on when I got home, however my right pedal now spins 360 degrees..... my left pedal feels like a spring keeps it in a certain position, my right no longer stays in the same spot.

    • @TomyTekOutdoors
      @TomyTekOutdoors  5 лет назад

      @@danconroy580 Sorry to hear this happened to you. I know some guys where their peddle came off completely. I took care of this ahead of time as a precaution. There might be a spring on the opposite side of the pedal that has to be seated correctly. I never took mine off completely to see if there was one. I would check that. If that is the case, please let us know. I haven't had any other issues with mine yet. I wonder what type of issues will start to come up with the new drives that just came out.
