as someone whos made multiple boleros with different patterns i can easily say this is the best one!! not only is it super easy to follow and comprehensible, it makes way more sense than other patterns. love how everything flows seamlessly ☺️❤️
For anyone who's having trouble getting the armpit holes to fit, heres exactly what I did! First: I went around the base square adding 1 row to ALL sides. This gave me 11 rows to the neck hole and some extra room on the sides. It still didn't fit so... Second: I added 2 rows to the "back" (at this point it doesn't matter) side of the square. This helped A LOT! but the armpits were still a bit too tight for me, so finally... Third: On the base vertical edge of the new back side I created a mesh strap two rows tall and four rows long. I attached this part the way explained in the video to make the arm holes. It finally fit me comfortably! I hope this makes sense! I'm a beginner so I kinda just winged it here and luckily it worked out! Adding a row around the entire square may be unnecessary for you, I just didn't have enough width initially.
Almost finished sleeve 1! This is the best tutorial I’ve come across as someone that prefers a written pattern , so proud of myself for doing this as I give up normally with crocheted clothes that require sewing so thank you so much for this ❤

Really cute! That is one of my favorite yarns in green! I made this to show my high school students who I am teaching crochet. Great and stylish beginner project!
This pattern is awesome! But I definitely had to learn from my sizing mistakes and do some free-styling. I didn't make it wide enough in the beginning to reach past my armpits, so it wouldn't have fit if I started the sleeves. So after I made the base rectangle with the neck hole, I worked a few rows down the side to add width before connecting the sleeve. I added 2 additional normal rows of stitches. From there, I realized it might still not fit well around my shoulders, so I did 3 rows where I added an extra stitch. Those rows were like this: Regular DC+chain, DC+chain in the middle of the chain below, DC+chain in the actual stitch. This made 2 stitches where there usually is only one. I then worked across as normal until at the end of the row, where I mirrored the same thing, adding that extra stitch there too. I did this 3 times before connecting the sleeves. It added a very slight curve to the hemline of the garment at the armpit, giving it some more room for the shoulders and armpit so I can hold my arms normal. If I followed the pattern word for word, on my body, the shrug would have had to have had more rows and go down further. Consider this alternative before slip stitching your sleeve if you have a little more meat on your arms but you want the front to hit at the same spot as the pattern
For the ones complaining about the sizing, you guys weren’t listening. She stated she made hers a little extra long because it getting smaller as you go. So with that note I would know to make mine longer, according to my shoulder to shoulder length.
I love this tutorial because it is so easy to follow! I was about to just try to make my own because I couldn’t find a good tutorial and if I would have tried to make my own it would have been a hot mess. Then I looked at this one and tried and I love the tutorial

Hi. Awesome video. Love the project. I was wondering if you made the part 2 in regards to the bell sleeves? If so, could you please. I am not able to find it. Thank you! ❤
This looks perfect! I'm heading out for a weekend at a cabin with some friends and it's still going to be chilly in the evenings. My question is this, I have a beautiful variegated yarn similar to what you used by I want my color changes to run long ways vs how you did the sleeves of yours, if that makes sense 😊 I wonder if you have any tips on how I might achieve that. I know I could just start with the length of my arms, like finger tip to finger tip and just work on it factoring in the neck opening when the time comes but I'm wondering if you've ever done one like that and if you have any tips. I really want my stripes to go long ways of it's possible 😊
i had to add one more row to the body because it was too tight on the armpits, but aside from that everything else was perfect! thanks for the tutorial.
I’m new to crocheting wearable items. This video is great and easy to understand. I would love for you to make a beginner friendly one with the wider sleeves on the bottom. So cute!
I had to frog my whole project once i got to the slip stitch for the arm holes, it was too tight under the arms. I think I'm gonna double the original chain and see if that keeps it baggy enough to not be restrictive. Learning process!
so cute but your pattern is wayyyy too small for me- what size are you? i'm a large and had to add a ton of rows to make it fit around my arms. otherwise great pattern
It can also be that for your yarn a bigger hook would have been good! When you notice you need too many rows try upsizing the hook, it really helps with reducing yarn usage and stitches needed ♥️
Wow! Great video……I don’t know how to crochet and can’t find a knitting video for one of these 😢 and would love to knit one with the bell sleeves as well.
Also which yarn did you use for the black and white one? I like how that one looks better it seems like it has a little more slack or relaxed fabric than the green one. And I like blk and white /grey better too.
PSA!! If you're fat and have thick arms like me, make more rows for each panel, front and back, because the numbers of rows she recommended is for her arm circumference specifically Also, make more rows than what you think you need to add, because the sleeves are supposed to be slightly oversized, even around the shoulders, since you're supposed to wear it on top of other clothing, which makes your arm circumference thicker than when you're wearing nothing
Could i only make it longer (more rows) on the side that would be on my back? Or will this cause is to be super uneven when i slip stitch it together, im struggling 😭
Just out of curiosity would I be able to use this tutorial but make a full sweater? Instead of stopping could I just continue until I get to my desired length?

She had no idea how she made the sleeves bell at the end. I’m going to try and send you a picture of what it looks like. It won’t let me copy and paste it.
