Hi thanks for the tutorial!! I do have one question. For the sleeves when you chain three it looks like your skipping a hole every once in a while(maybe I just have bad eyesight) I just want to confirm that after chaining three we go into the next hole(no skipping). Again thanks for the simple tutorial
just the front! I’d recommend taking a tape measure and going completely around your body and then divide that measurement in half to see how long you need to make the first chain.
As someone who has A LOT of scars from having severe eczema, this is heaven sent! Now I can wear my tank tops and cover my arm scars while they're healing. Thank youuuu
suggestion for people who want the neck hole to be a little lower in the front than in the back (i.e. further away from your throat): make the back panel a couple rounds longer, and join them as if they're the same length. thank you for the easy to follow tutorial! 😄
@@yanybanany if you look at a shirt or jumper you own, see how the neck hole sits towards the front panel, like the front of the neck hole is lower than the back of the neck hole? you achieve that by making the back panel a little longer but stitching them together so that the bottom is even.
Okay so, I started this video having NEVER crocheted before. Like no learning even the basics nothing. This video was so easy to follow and so helpful that I literally just learned how to crochet from watching it. I’m in the middle of making this shrug and I love how it’s turning out. Amazing tutorial!
I agree. @anna-greene you have a lovely voice and a calm manner. Some videos I've watched leave me feeling stressed by the fast chatter with shrill voices 😆
Loved this pattern! Super easy to follow and super cute. I’m going to make a bunch of these lol. A few notes: For plus size people (my bust is about 49.5 in and I was using 5 mm hook), my first chain to start out was around 107 chains. I did 8 rows in front and 11 rows in the back. The yarn I’m using is stretchy. You should definitely check the stretchiness of your yarn and the fit around your arm before making the sleeves. To decrease I did three chains +dc until about halfway down my bicep/tricep, then two chains +dc around halfway down my forearm, then single chain +dc until my wrist, where I did one row of no chains +dc, and lastly a row of slipknots. It’s not tight on my arm at all (I started my sleeve with 20 of the mesh loops all the way around), but it gives it shape. And because the yarn is stretchy you could still put a thumb through one of the holes if you wanted.

I am currently making this, Thank you to the creator for posting this. I am plus size so if there are any ladies out there who are curious if it will convert to plus size answer is yes. Make sure you have your tape measure for the bust part. For the sleeves, i did a few round like the creator did but after I got past my arm fat I had to reduce the number of chains to 1 between each DC as it just made my arm look huge. I bought Pound of Love yarn by Lion, weight 4, and haven't even finished the 1st skein yet, but I'm only on the first sleeve. I just really wanted to share my experience with this pattern. also if your beginning chain is a multiple of 4 it will work out perfect
Okay so listen ..... I made this arm shrug And it was my first time chrocheting I feel confident now. It took me 2 weeks (8hours). But it is good and cute. You really did gave good directions and it was easy to understand Thank you💜
Thanks for this tutorial! Once I figured out the correct sizing for myself they went pretty quickly (I made four over my holiday break). For the last few rows of each sleeve I increased the number of spaces by two so they flared just a bit at the end. I also finished each sleeve with a beaded trim. They came out great! 😍🪡🧶
So I've been really interested in crocheting for a couple of months now. Mainly because I want to make myself clothes. I've really wanted this style of top in soooo many colors. I absolutely love the pattern you have made. Once I get a crochet kit for Christmas this will be one of the first projects I tackle after practicing the basic! Super cute and well explained!!
I have NEVER croched before. I have tried a few times, but never manager to do it right. But this tutorial was amazing and so easy to follow! Absolutely in love with the result
Thanks so much for this! For the sleeves I decreased the chain 3 to chain 2 and then chain 1 as I went down to get it more fitted. I’ve been in a rut and feel like I haven’t been able to complete any projects, and I completed this one in a day 😊
Hi there! 🥹 Question, if my back panel has an extra box ( 15 boxes ) compared to my front panel ( 14 boxes ) does that affect the whole top? And should I find a way to decrease it back to 14 boxes for the back panel or does it not matter? 😭😭
Tw!! I have dozen of unhealed scars on my arms and thighs because of self harm ( I am clean currently ) due to depression and in summer [even tho I try to ignore it] I can’t unseen the stares and get a lot of questions so I am quite relived and happy I found your tutorial! I am sure I can walk around more confident for the upcoming summers then used to thanks to you!!
Omg this is actually so nice. I'm still working on it (I'm finishing up the back panel) but normally I don't like making clothes, because I have sensory issues, and I struggle with modifying neck holes to make them bigger, but this was super easy. (For anyone who wants to know, I did 3 squares on each side, instead of 4, and chained 51)
this is awesome! it tuned out great and i’m in love, just a tip for plus size people, you might want to make the front and back panel longer than 8 rows just so there’s enough room in the armpit for bigger arms!
this was my first big project and i was able to complete it in increments over 3 days! i’m obsessed with how it looks :) thank you for the clear and easy to follow tutorial!
I watched this video having no crochet experience and too much equipment because all I could do was double crochet and chain, and I always couldn’t get any of the tutorials. I finished the video with one crochet shrug’s worth of experience under my belt and sore fingers, as well as more understanding of crochet. Your tutorial was AWESOME, and I’ll probably make more. Have a wonderful day.
I just finished making mine and it looks so good!! I used a variegated yarn that shifted between dark, muted shades of green and purple. This was my first time crocheting a wearable that wasn't just a simple beanie and it was so easy with your tutorial! Thank you for making this video ♥
If you wanted to taper the arms you could decrease the stich by one on one of the squares at a certain point of the round and have it done here and there but remember where the stitch marker is it will be a chain 2 or chain one for a few rounds depending on how much you want it to taper (so like you know how long your front panel is for how many rows, then take a measurement maybe at the wrist and/or elbow/or just mid upper arm depending on length of sleeve. Know how many stitches it is around for length and figure out how many rounds to that cuff that you want) same for ruffle grid you would add how ever many stitches every row so you could get a ruffle grid (might be best on mid upper arm to elbow length)
i started making this as my first big crochet project (after doing a couple of very small amigurumi) and it's coming out so well! it's taking me a long time since i'm so new at it, but seeing the first few rows work up so fast was really really encouraging. i ended up changing the last few rows of the sleeve to make it cinch in around my wrist, and it worked out quite well! your instructions are very clear, and this mesh stitch is forgiving enough for a beginner that even with a few mistakes along the way and altering the pattern the way i did, it still looks really nice : )
I have been trying to learn how to crochet for SO LONG! I have some mobility issues in my hands, so I never thought I would be able to tackle a project like this, but your instructions were so clear, and it was truly so easy!! Thanks so much for making this💖💖
I’ve crochet much before and this was the best tutorial I’ve watched, really good describing and easy, mine turned out really good and I’m in love with it😍😍😍 thank you!!!!
I am almost finished! I started working on this a couple of hours ago, and it is so easy to follow along. I'm a beginner and slow, so it's taking me a while, but this is so fun to make! I'm making it as a present for my sister, and I'll update this comment if I remember when i give it to her in two days!
Awesome, today I started my first crochet top and the next thing I want to do is this. I don't speak English but I still understood it completely and it's the first video that they explain perfectly, thank you :D

Love this tutorial!💕 First crocheting I've ever done and it's turning out lovely! I would definitely recommend this tutorial for anyone beginning since it's really fun to immediately be able to make something out of nothing, having no previous skill whatsoever! Thank you💞
Iv been wanting to make a mesh sweater for so long but i couldn’t find a good pattern and i remembered this tutorial i used to make a shrug last year and i did basically the same thing but added more rows to the front and back row and it turned out perfect
Hey all, Just thought I would write my results here incase it helps anyone who runs into the same problem. On the sleeves at the top I was doing (dc ch2 dc ) then moved onto (dc ch3 dc) so sleeves tighter at top and flared at wrist, Hope that helps anyone also stuck x
I've tried to follow a lot of tutorials for this but they're all sooo complicated. This I can follow and understand, thank you!❤️ It's turning out awesome and fits me perfectly🥰

its really good to crochet things like this and not buy them from fast fashion companie (ie; Shein, h&m ect) bc there arent any machines that can replicate crochet stitches therefore every piece needs to be made by hand

Hi thanks for the tutorial!! I do have one question. For the sleeves when you chain three it looks like your skipping a hole every once in a while(maybe I just have bad eyesight) I just want to confirm that after chaining three we go into the next hole(no skipping). hi, when you say at the very beginning to chain half of your bust measurement, do you you mean all the way around the body or just the front?
just the front! I’d recommend taking a tape measure and going completely around your body and then divide that measurement in half to see how long you need to make the first chain.

For the last few rows of each sleeve I increased the number of spaces by two so they flared just a bit at the end. I also finished each sleeve with a beaded trim. They came out great! 😍🪡🧶
Wonderful! thanks for sharing :)
Wait so to make the sleeves flared, do you put 2 dc in every hole and then the next row 3 dc in the same hole and so on?
@@kindaslay asking myself the same question
Hi! Can you tell me how much yarn did you use please ? :)
ONG tysm this helped a lot! I’m so happy you made a tutorial, now I’m going to make one and show off my work in public! Again tysm❤
Im using this tutorial with two different color yarns and using them as "one yarn" and it looks super pretty so far thank youu!!
Never done crochet before and this was literally perfect description and filming for a beginner!!!
Thanks so much for this! For the sleeves I decreased the chain 3 to chain 2 and then chain 1 as I went down to get it more fitted. I’ve been in a rut and feel like I haven’t been able to complete any projects, and I completed this one in a day 😊
Hi there! 🥹
Question, if my back panel has an extra box ( 15 boxes ) compared to my front panel ( 14 boxes ) does that affect the whole top?
And should I find a way to decrease it back to 14 boxes for the back panel or does it not matter? 😭😭
@@rachaello6120 i don’t think it should matter too much.
@@kenna.-_ okay thanks!
Thanks for this comment I also wanted to do this (decrease the arms) so now I know! ☺️xx
I hope you’re doing well, I’m proud of you ☺️❤️🩹 stay strong ❤❤
Omg this is actually so nice. I'm still working on it (I'm finishing up the back panel) but normally I don't like making clothes, because I have sensory issues, and I struggle with modifying neck holes to make them bigger, but this was super easy. (For anyone who wants to know, I did 3 squares on each side, instead of 4, and chained 51)
I’ve watched 3 tutorials of how to make these and this is the first one that I can understand how to make it thanks for the tutorial ❤
this is awesome! it tuned out great and i’m in love, just a tip for plus size people, you might want to make the front and back panel longer than 8 rows just so there’s enough room in the armpit for bigger arms!
Am I able to add more to my front panel? I made it too short but already got the back the correct length I’m not trying to start all over 😭😭😭
The best tutorial out there! I'm sure beginners or people like me who've only made 2-3 projects before would find this easy! Thanks❤️
Thats my first project and its really easy
@@vxleria444_ yeah its actually more easier than i thought
this was my first big project and i was able to complete it in increments over 3 days! i’m obsessed with how it looks :) thank you for the clear and easy to follow tutorial!
Hi! Can you tell me how much yarn did you use please ? :)
this was the EASIEST tutorial i have EVER watched. Like out of EVERYTHING IVE MADE, it was by far the EASIESTT.
Omg I’ve been searching for a pattern for one of these for so long-this is perfect!!
:)) lmk if you have any questions!
I just finished making mine and it looks so good!! I used a variegated yarn that shifted between dark, muted shades of green and purple. This was my first time crocheting a wearable that wasn't just a simple beanie and it was so easy with your tutorial! Thank you for making this video ♥
omg sounds so cute thanks for sharing ❤️
Oof sounds nice, I dyed my varigated yarn of light purples and yellows black so my yarn is like black with different shades of black. im lovin it.
Hi! Can you tell me how much yarn did you use please ? :)
Know how many stitches it is around for length and figure out how many rounds to that cuff that you want) same for ruffle grid you would add how ever many stitches every row so you could get a ruffle grid (might be best on mid upper arm to elbow length)
i did this and it really helped!! thank you!
Thank you so much I whipped this up last minute in 3 hours for a party.BEST tut ever
i started making this as my first big crochet project (after doing a couple of very small amigurumi) and it's coming out so well! it's taking me a long time since i'm so new at it, but seeing the first few rows work up so fast was really really encouraging. i ended up changing the last few rows of the sleeve to make it cinch in around my wrist, and it worked out quite well! your instructions are very clear, and this mesh stitch is forgiving enough for a beginner that even with a few mistakes along the way and altering the pattern the way i did, it still looks really nice : )
God loves you! Repent and believe that Jesus paid the price for our sins! He can give you so much love, joy and peace
I have been trying to learn how to crochet for SO LONG! I have some mobility issues in my hands, so I never thought I would be able to tackle a project like this, but your instructions were so clear, and it was truly so easy!! Thanks so much for making this💖💖
exactly the same!!!
how????? i took 15 hours just on the first sleeve 😭😭🥺🥺🥺
There are hooks that can help ease pain in wrist I use them occasionally lol just fine hooks that have grips and there is ton of variety
God loves you! Repent and believe that Jesus paid the price for our sins! He can give you so much love, joy and peace!
I’ve crochet much before and this was the best tutorial I’ve watched, really good describing and easy, mine turned out really good and I’m in love with it😍😍😍 thank you!!!!
can i do this in a longer version?
@@teawithsugar490 ofc you can
With this tutorial I have made like 10 to sell and my customers love it
Thanks for the understanding tutorial ❤😊
I am almost finished! I started working on this a couple of hours ago, and it is so easy to follow along. I'm a beginner and slow, so it's taking me a while, but this is so fun to make! I'm making it as a present for my sister, and I'll update this comment if I remember when i give it to her in two days!
Ur such a great sibling! I think she’ll love it❤!
girl i’m gonna need you to make a million more vids you explain things so well and ur vibe is 10/10
Awesome, today I started my first crochet top and the next thing I want to do is this. I don't speak English but I still understood it completely and it's the first video that they explain perfectly, thank you :D
Update: I'm on the first sleeve following the video, thank you very much!
currently making this one, such a fun and quick project to take a break. loved the tutorial, so clear and neat
i have a hard time following crochet tutorials, especially ones for bigger projects like this, and this is the only one that i can say i hands down was able to follow the entire way through. You're a godsend

I MADE IT!!! this is probably the best thing Ive crocheted so far!
this is the best tutorial for this pattern omg!! thank you so much 🥰 currently making it now
omg thank you!! lmk if you have any questions ❤️
I’m finishing off the sleeves but I have never been so proud of myself I always thought I would just be good at plushies but now I can do both this tutorial is amazing tysm :)
Hi! Can you tell me how much yarn did you use please ? :)
@@sofia-ug3ym I would say less than 2 skeins if I remember correctly
Thank you so much! I’m using a size 6 hook and am a size small so I’m following exactly the same measures as the video but even if I’m not finished with this top ( I have done the front and back panel and a half sleeve) I have used 200g of yarn and I really don’t know why ! If anyone has any ideas why I’ll be so grateful!
Love this tutorial!💕
First crocheting I've ever done and it's turning out lovely!
Can;t wait to make for my granddaughter(s) Watched the whole video and you did an excellent job explaining!
Hey all,
Just thought I would write my results here incase it helps anyone who runs into the same problem.
On the sleeves at the top I was doing (dc ch2 dc ) then moved onto (dc ch3 dc) so sleeves tighter at top and flared at wrist,
Hope that helps anyone also stuck x
what is the meaning of dc dh2 dc?? i want my piece to be flared 🥺
@@desquitadofayemariea.8680 double crochet - chain 2 - double crochet !!
Thank you so much! Did you start the first row with DC chain 2 DC???? Or from the second row of the sleeves
@@oliviabarai2835 I started from the second row and it worked fine for me!
I've tried to follow a lot of tutorials for this but they're all sooo complicated. This I can follow and understand, thank you!❤️ It's turning out awesome and fits me perfectly🥰
You're very welcome!

Anna, Thank you for sharing your pattern so clearly, and easily, can't tell you how many other crochet videos complicate things, so it really makes me appreciate yours.
Easiest. Tutorial. Ever.
I've wanted to make something like this for so long, and this tutorial was incredibly easy to follow! thank you so much!
This is THE best tutorial on the internet, you genuinely explain everything so simple but understandable, keep it up girl! Love ya 💋
Lol,I found this video 9 months later and I LOVE it…the way u explain things is perfect for the people like me that can’t crochet very fast and needs a slow tutorial, thanks for making these vids for us!❤
This tutorial is so well done! It only took me two days (which is quick for me) to crochet it and I’m a beginner! Thank you!!
Halfway done in an hour and it’s my first project!!
Love this pattern! So easy to follow. As a size large I recommend doing 9 rows hope this helps!!
do you know how many chains you started with originally? size L here looking to make this
I liked how easy it is to expect it to be that easy. No. There are some complex steps a few, but my performance was great to get us the picture clearly✨
This is by far the BEST pattern I’ve followed for to is! I’ve tried others but I ended up frogging it all. Thank you so much for this AMAZING pattern.
i already save ur video from a long time but never made it,rn im making it in pink!.never know it was this easy thank you Anna
The really cool thing is you can make the front and back panels longer and make it a full-on cover-up! Btw this tutorial rlly helped me!

i loved this tutorial! i was going to buy a shrug like this but then i saw the tutorial and decided to make one myself! so cute, thank you :)
its really good to crochet things like this and not buy them from fast fashion companie (ie; Shein, h&m ect) bc there arent any machines that can replicate crochet stitches therefore every piece needs to be made by hand
this is going to be my first crochet project as a knitter!!! so excited, ur vid is so helpful💓💓💓
oooo that’s so exciting lmk how it goes!
