It's been 2 days and im about to finish one arm. One thing i can recomment for thoose beginers is i struggle with my tension and i assume you would too. So i suggest you to start with one row of single crochet instead of only chaining. I tried only chain but it turned out sloppy cust because i cannot control my tension well enought to make it neat. Happy crocheting ❤️❤️
Alternatively, I wanna add that learning the foundation single crochet for stretchy collars is also great!! It's harder to twist because it's thick and you get a very stable stretchy foundation without having to chain!!
Looks pretty easy. I like the colors you chose. I noticed the mushroom canister in the background when you were talking. My mom had the entire set when I was a kid. I'm 62 now.
I haven’t finished it yet but so far I’ve done quite a lot and I did use a slightly smaller yarn size and hook and im pretty sure it will be perfect :)@@pinkkeditz8752
@WiseGirl_CHB73 that’s nice! So far I’ve crocheted quite a lot of things including a cardigan and skirt :) I wish you luck! I’ve started making it and it’s turnin* out perfect, if a little oversized so I hope this helps!
I made the top in one day, i am a size S I chained 60/70 I forgot, and for the arm’s chained 4. It fits amazingly, the neckline is a bit wider which I love it’s really flattering. I’ll be making the sweater soon!
I always wanted to crochet myself a sweater but most patterns and video tutorials seem complicated but yours is so simple and clear! Thank you so much ❤
I'm planning on making this for my best friend for her birthday. Hope I'll get it done in time because im lazy and also a very slow crocheter lol update: i did and she liked it, wooo. this was my first bigger project so im glad it went well
this pattern is really simple and makes a really nice jumper! something to keep in mind though if you make one yourself - i used thinner yarn than she did which meant i had to do more rows for the shoulders part, so instead of 8 i did 10. otherwise it doesn’t reach the arms enough and ends up looking funny. the shoulder part should reach where your armpit is in both the front and the back. i only figured this out after a few rows of the body though, so make sure to keep trying it on as you work.
omg so I decided to give this a try- and I finished it! started working on it monday evening and wore it to uni today! its wednesday of the same week, lol. Anywho, it was my first crochet sweater, and i'll be making a mini one for the baby that I care for. Thank you so much!!!
This tutorial is truly amazing! Just finished my first successful top following this video. The pattern is easy to manipulate to make your size. Wanted to include tips for a XL/XXL. I used 2 skeins of Caron cinnamon swirl cakes and a 6.5 mm hook. To increase the width of the body, I just increased the chain you put in at the underarm to 20. I think I would add another row to the top to make 9 rows of the same pattern/increase before adding in the underarm chain next time but it worked fine with the 8 she does in the video. Bc I made the arm hole so large I wanted to decrease the sleeve and just did 2 triple crochet decreases every row down to the wrist - about 17 rows. I definitely tried this on a ton and made adjustments as needed. I also added a single crochet border around the bottom hem and wrists.
Thank you so much! I am making this sweater right now and I made the underarm 20 chains too, before even seeing your comment! That was cool to see, thanks for sharing! 🧶
Amazing comment! I am using much smaller yarn for my project so i made my underarm chains to 30, looking pretty good so far hope it doesnt turn too bulky later on. Good thing about crocheting is that you can always easily go back!!
Lol I started this and within 3 hours I have the base of the sleeves pattern completely done and now all I need to do is make the sleeves for it. (I'm wearing this to a Renaissance Faire tomorrow 🤣)
I never watch an entire tutorial video, but I did this one. Enjoyable! I'm Plus-size and I wanna see if I can follow your instructions to make one of these sweaters for me. I'll keep ya posted!

Hi Hannah I’m half way done with the shrug and was wondering if there was any increase on the sleeve part or does it create that bell sleeve effect on its own. Love your work ❤
Hi there! I'm about to start this project and was just wondering the reasoning behind counting 6 in for the stretch increase in the beginning. Is it dependent on how many rows you make initially? What if I have more or less rows than 80?
it is really dependent upon your size! you might need more or less than 6 (if you end up with 100 instead of 80 let’s just say, you will most likely need to do more than 6) but i just found that six works perfectly for me and my arm size :) basically i just put the row across my shoulders, then placed the stitch marker where my armpit began for the arms, and it was about 6. you can adjust it however much you need 💕
I don’t know the exactly specific amount, but i think i used about 250grams of cotton 8/8 yarn for the shrug. Really depends on what size you make it and how many rows or chains you do, i tried following her video exactly but as i am a size M/L i had to freehand and customise it to my size most of the time.
The only thing I’ve ever crocheted is chains and I’ve wanted to do something more than that and now I’m creating this! Everything else was so confusing but this video is clear and simple ❤
I’m new to crochet and attempted to follow other tutorials and they all led to dead ends and not fitting or me messing up. I finally got it with this tutorial. Thank you so much!

I have bought something like FIVE of the sleeves and never thought about trying to find the pattern! Thank you SO MUCH!!! I'm going to make half of my wardrobe this way!!! Edit: if I'm doing this with a DK kind of yarn (using a hook 4) would it need to be increased from the basic chain (maybe to 100?) because the stitches would be smaller than ones made with a hook 6 and yarn that needs a hook 6? Edit 2: the sleeves with the pink bit and the sweater you wear in the beginning almost look like the have bell sleeves? Is it just an "optical illusion" and there really is no increase in the rows of the sleeves?

What a great sweater! Gonna go shopping for yarn real soon and start this project (I'm still crocheting a maxi skirt with your pattern, so). When starting the chain, is the measurement from side shoulder to side shoulder so I have room for my head and be able to make sleeves? I’m also using DK weight yarn.
TIA.
What a great sweater! Gonna go shopping for yarn real soon and start this project (I'm still crocheting a maxi skirt with your pattern, so). I also have a question, for which hook is the yarn you used. Like which is specified on the yarn package? Cause you used 6.5 mm and I'm not sure if yarn is 6.5 mm too. Thank you so much for keeping up with doing videos! I love your work so much ❤❤
Hello I’m so happy because I’m almost done making mine
But I have a little issue can I add a rib crochet to the neck of the mesh top
Because my neck side is too loosed ??
Hope you see this message 🙏😭🙏
You don't have to worry. I've changed the second colour two times 🥲 But still worth it. Love your job and videos ❤❤
Hi 🙂 I’m a new subscriber and your sweater is gorgeous. The colours, the pattern, I love it. After I finish my granny hexagon cardigan I’m making this sweater. Thank you so much 😊
I LOVED this tutorial! Wee question, do you turn it inside out afterwards? Or is it finished with right sides facing out? 💕
Simple and clear instructions! This tutorial is awesome. I’m crocheting my first sweater using this pattern. Thank you for posting a very helpful video.
Hi Hannah, new subscriber here and I am doing this sweater, it's turning out really nice. Your instructions are just so simple, love making this...look forward to what you make next time 😊

I made 3 of these in 2 days lol, like 4 hours per shirt. I made 2 shirts and 1 like cropped sleeve top
How do you get the height of your rows so even? Mine look so wobbly .. idk what I’m doing wrong
i’ve been looking for a tutorial! you explained it perfectly thank you :) i’m almost finished
Hi I have been searching videos for a sweater pattern and love your video tutorials. So easy to follow. What is the name of the variegated yarn with purple blended in you are using on this sweater and the one you made for your daughter. So adorable, love it and keep making more. Bless you, and have a great day
how would you weave in the ends?
