Mary, I enjoy your videos so much. I am 82 years old and I will never see Holmes County but the scenery is so beautiful it would be wonderful if you could show more as you travel about. Thank you so much for the videos and just being the great person that you are. God bless!
Your sister's art is beautiful. I love to see you with your sister. My sisters are one of best gifts from God.
Fun to see beautiful older pieces. I love your sister’s art! You are both talented ladies!
Your sister has amazing talent, it runs in the family!!!!!!!!!!!!
The part that stood out the most to me, was seeing the horses and buggies. So peaceful.
Canadian Girl yes my husband went there for work and had never seen it before. He said it was so cool !
My thoughts were how annoying driving would be having to slow down and pass them constantly but it is interesting
Except that sometimes those poor horses are extremely abused and worked half to death in both heat and cold. I live in PA. Amish country and am shocked and appalled at the animal neglect and borderline abuse of carriage horses. I have seen emaciated horses on the road that are so over-worked and underfed that they can't make it up a hill. Not to mention the careless auto drivers who hit these carriages on the road and maim and kill these horses once in awhile. The life of many carriage horses is a sad life of enslavement, exhaustion, and soul crushing drudgery. Many never get proper Vet care and are dumped on the horse meat auctions that truck them to Mexico for slaughter. Many of these "quaint" people have ZERO compassion for their animals. The are simply a means to an end -- or a means to garner extreme profits from breeding. PA. & Ohio Amish country also house some of the worst nightmare puppy mills in the country. The breeder dogs spend their entire lives in wire cages -- or dark barn stalls -- and never see a blade of grass or ray of sunshine. The girls are bred repeatedly until their health collapses then they're dumped at the dog rescue groups. These dogs are backward, maladjusted, fearful of humans and extremely difficult to place in homes.
@@Mary.Mercedes There is a huge difference between city life and country farm life, something that farm people have always understood. Sure there are situation that are bad, but the Amish people as a whole are not responsible for the ignorance of a few. And I'm sure that there are many different people living in Amish country, even those type that would run a puppy mill, but I doubt it would be run by the Amish. It is terrible that there are people in the whole that would treat dogs in such an inhuman way. We see it happening in China too.
@@canadiangirl5159 I have great admiration of the Amish and their values. I did not disparage any Amish in general. I know many Amish families personally. I said MANY not all. My point for my original post is that there can be a very dark side behind those “peaceful” horse-drawn carriages. I have experienced it - as have hundreds of rescue organization volunteers who pick up the abused and neglected dogs or horses AT the Amish farms when they want to dump them by 10 or 15 at at time. When you see an exhausted. skinny horse - with ribs sticking out and head hanging low- tied to a parked AMISH buggy in a parking lot in the sun in hot summertime (as I have) those buggies do not look so “peaceful.” Yes, there are backyard hillbilly puppy mills out in the “back 30” in every state abusing animals for profit, but MUCH (not ALL) of the abuse is disproportionately done in my surrounding states by Amish farmers. They are infamous with all the animal rescue organizations who have to deal with the carnage every day.
I was born and raised in St Mary's Ohio, went to college and lived in Columbus many years. In the late 80's my husband, baby daughter and I stayed at a Miller's Countryside Camper's Paradise for a weekend in winter. Our cabin was so warm and cozy, the view amazing and the baked goods were wonderful. It's such a beautiful part of the state. I would love to do it again! Thank you for your videos.
I enjoy the view from your dash, it was so much fun withe rise and fall of the road! TFS
Sisters are the best. Yes when thrifting we are oblivious. So much fun. Thanks for sharing. I can't wait to do this with my sister.
Mary, you live in a beautiful place, I could watch your road journey all day. Happy new year to you and your family.
Thank you for taking us along on your thrifting journey!!! I drive truck and right now I’m stuck in a snow storm on I-80 in Wyoming so I’m snuggled up in my semi with my favorite rag quilt and a cup of coffee catching up on all your videos. We live in Indiana and love Amish Country! I do a lot of shopping in Shipshewana. After watching your video I’m going to venture over into Ohio. Can’t wait to see what you do with the items you bought! Thank you Mary for keeping me company out on the road and for all the amazing videos you bring us. God Bless!!!
That animal artwork is stunning Mary. I loved coming along on your thrift trip, please do more of these to show us all your beautiful part of the world.
Oh Thanks - that was so much fun! Those white plates with red dots would look nice on Valentine's Day too. I saw a few things I would have wanted to recycle into something. Your sister's art is very, very nice and professional. Good luck with painting, etc. the items you purchased - let us see those videos too.
This was a lot of fun. The shops, the scenery, the wonderful goodies, and those prices were great. I really enjoy your channel and I wish I had the space to renew more furniture. Keep up the good work and TFS.
I live near your area and love the harvest thrift store. Going thrifting in Amish country is always so much fun because you truly never know what you’ll find. You can always count on finding timeless pieces and quality items. Thrift stores in Amish country are so much better than in bigger cities.
What a joy and inspiration you are to watch, Mary. God bless you!
Oh Mary, what an awesome day of junkin' which is what we here on the east coast call thrifting. I so want to go on a junkin' day. The video today so reminded me of our many trips to Lancaster, PA which is an Amish area. My sister and good friend would make a day of heading north on 896 and Rt. 30. We loved the thrift stores in that area, the Ephrata flea market and Kings, of course, and the Crackelberry Antique mall. Of course, we can't forget the wonderful tasty treats along the way. Seeing the horse and buggies reminded me of the beautiful countryside in that part of PA. Needless to say, since we moved to VA I have missed those trips. Thank you for taking us on your junkin' trip today and sharing your fabulous finds with your followers.
I’m always in the mood to go thrifting 😍
What a lovely drive out where you live. I am in the centre of the UK next to a big city, your area is so different. I loved this trip Mary, and to see your sister’s art work was wonderful, I can see where you get your eye for the things you make and transform, what a gifted family! thank you for this lovely video.
Enjoyed this video! Your sister's art is amazing! Thank you for sharing☺ You both are gifted🙏🌟💕
I am from Ohio and no longer live there. I watch your videos when I miss home. I miss the trees etc. So fun to see familiar places and things. Been to Millersburg a couple of times and ate at the Der Dutchman once. Your videos bring back good memories, thanks.
Thank you for taking us along with you! It was so fun seeing all the good thrift stores that are nearby you!!🤗🛒
Loved seeing the Amish buggies too👍🏻
I used to live in Delaware, Ohio, and have visited Berlin, and Holmes County many times. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. I miss Ohio very much.

You have so many great stores! I’m glad you have your sister to shop with. Her art is amazing...you are both so gifted! You found great things and my favorite is that tabletop birdcage!
I've really been missing time like this with a really good friend...just enjoying the day at the pace of your choosing....I loved this video, it gave me a slice of something and left me peaceful. Thanks, Mary xx
I love the scenery of the towns.
How fun to see your sister’s art-and in a gallery no less! I love thrifting, too. What a fun day. 😘
Mary you live in thrift store heaven! So many to visit! My husband would never see me again if I had so many like that around to go to. 😂😂 Thanks for sharing your trip with us.... oh and I just loved seeing those horse drawn carriages. 😍
I love thrift shopping too.
Such fun.
You and your sister are such a blessing.
I love Thrift Stores... They have beautiful treasures to decorate our houses. It's been a long long time I haven't visit a thrift store. Mary thank you so much for taking us to visit different thrift stores. Greetings from New York City🗽🙏🤗🌷
I LOVE thrifting! This was super fun and sooo relaxing! Soo much beauty in the architect and the beautiful scenery of the land. I love those pieces you got and the clothing is all adorable too.
I LOVED that piece at Share & Save after the piece you looked at for a while. The white distressed piece with glass at the top that looked like Windows? Oh my!! I LOVED that!!! The thrift shops there are way better than in my location. Here, you see TONS of clothing but very little of other items. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks for the thrifting adventure 🌿 Mary my family settled in Ohio around 1750. Living in Fl. I forget all the open spaces and I miss that calmness of Ohio.
What a funday and loved going along. You live in beautiful country there. Tfs. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for taking us with you! Loved seeing your thrift stores. Can’t wait to see what you do with your treasures!
Ms Mary , I love your head covering, the music background, the color white in almost everything, you are such an inspiration. I will be checking your Etsy shop. Thanks for honoring the Lord on everything you do 🥰
Thanks for pointing out your sister's artwork - I just ordered 3 prints from her Etsy shop! Beautiful........

🐴Beautiful work. Artistic talent clearly runs in the family❣
I'm good but Mary , you really have an eye for redoing things into lovely , fresh and new looking. The ride was so fun. Remember I'm very ill and home all the time. Judith
Your sister’s work is beautiful!! She did appear to be a little concerned about the “breaking items” near the end of the clip. 😂
😄
I also had to chuckle at the look on her face.
Your sisters face was priceless with the noise from the back of the truck. Lol. Yes thanks for the chuckle. Looks like y’all had a great day out. Celest
OMGoodness Mary!! I laughed so hard, tears were rolling down my cheeks at the crashing items in the back. It sounded like something was alive back there!!! And your sister whips her head around to see what's going on!!! LOL!! That was just tooooo cute!! 🤣 😍🤣😍🤣😍🤣🤣🤣🤣😋🤣
Loved the thrift stores!! So much fun!!! 🥰
Love all your finds. Thanks for showing us a little of your area/surroundings. So beautiful. I love seeing all the lifestyles across the country. Just wanted to say that those little rugs, are just that. They're called Mug Rugs. They are a place mat for your coffee or tea mug. Such fun. I look forward to seeing what you do with your treasures.
I'm so glad you scooped up those herb mugs! So cute! ♡
The prices lately on these thrift store all over are very pricey. $75 or even $25 is just to much. I am so happy that are people like yourself that can take even something we have at home and instead of trashing it can transform it. Thank you 🙏 for what you have shown people to do. It’s better then always buying something you can do yourself.
Amazing video! The Amish country I've only seen in movies. Would love to visit that area one day 🥰
I'm your neighbor in Western PA, and I really enjoyed your Thrift trip along with your wonderful purchases. Thanks for your Ohio Thrift store recommendations. I'lll definitely use your Thrift vlog as future reference when I frequently make road trips to the Buckeye state of Ohio. 🙏❣️🙏
I really enjoyed this trip with you and had a laugh about the noise in the car (the rattling of things). Such beautiful area on the road and the carriages. Delightful. Thanks for sharing and Happy New Year.
Hi beautiful sisters. I don’t live in Ohio but have a friend live there. I need to go up there and thrift. Thanks so much for taking us along today . Have a blessed weekend darlings 🥰😍🥰
I loved the coasters as well! I love thrifting. Thrusting is new to me.
Hi Mary! This was so much fun! You have some really nice thrift stores in your area. I love your sister's artwork. She's very talented. It must run in your family. I enjoyed seeing the buggies and carts, but after seeing some of the comments below, it wasn't so good, sad really. The area you live in is very beautiful. Thank you for taking us along!
Great trips! I could never fit that many in one day, really cool! Can't wait to see how you remake/ restore them. BTW, your area is so beautiful!
What a treasure trove of thrift stores! I always enjoy seeing the horse and buggies, we have a few small communities in my area of north central Indiana. I enjoy watching thrifting videos and seeing your sister's artwork, it's just wonderful!! I'm excited to see how you breathe new life into the pieces you purchased!

I love your thrifting spirit, and how you love to buy used and recycle! I have that same spirit! It feels like we are using all that God gave us well! I only have a short time to watch youtube lately, and I am always finding your videos! They always lift my spirits!! Happy New Year, wonderful woman!!

Was thinking the same from here in Wisconsin
Same here from Georgia.
Same here from Germany 😊.
Same here from Nashville, TN! Though I would’ve enjoyed going along for the ride. 😘
We usually make two trips down to Holmes County per year. It is one of our favorite places! We've been doing this since 1995 and boy has the area changed!! We haven't been to Millersburg in years. We loved the Antique Emporium on Main Street, but it doesn't look like it is there anymore. Your sisters artwork is incredible! What a fun, fun day!
So glad you picked up those cups! When I saw them I thought I hope she gets them! Really loved seeing the country side and thrift stores, loved the names!
Haha... that is what I was thinking too! I 😁

We live in Ohio and go to Amish Country several times a year. We usually stay a couple days each trip.
We go to the thrift shop but I saw a couple you went to that we have missed. So we are adding them to our list.
You got some very nice things. Have a wonderful day and Happy New Year. Blessings....
I’m from Wayne County and I definitely need to take a day off for some “me” time and follow your route in reverse.
Love the sleepy little town. Seems so peaceful. Thank you for all your designs.
Those looked like some pretty cool thrift stores.
Hi Mary, Sally here. How lucky are we to live in beautiful Ohio! I live in South Point. The most southern portion of the state. ( Hence the name.) Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed the thrifting trip. Thank you so much for thinking to take us along. We camped there last summer and I want to come back soon. It was right after your awful wind experience. As we shopped and found our way around I told my daughter I was on the look out for Mary. Your sister is quite the artist and you are so talented also. Happy New Year.
Dreary Ohio weather 😩 I miss the 60s we had around Christmas!
Thanks Mary for taking us along with you and you sister, her Art work is beautiful. You scored some nice pieces. And the clothes haul was nice. Thxs and Happy New Year to you and your family.
I like thrifting, but the ReStore is my favorite resale shop.
I have family that live in Millersburg, and Wooster, so I have been to a few of these. Great thrifting and junking in Ohio. Have a great New Year. Holmes County is beautiful.
That was so much fun, I thought you would have bought that BEAUTIFUL antique dresser it was such a good price ... Thanks for sharing ..
What a lovely day out looking at your favourite op shops!
Oh I didn’t realize you were right here in Ohio! I live just southeast of Columbus in Pickerington. 😊
My dad's family is from canal Winchester.
Bev Wyckoff My maiden name is Wyckoff. Wonder if we’re related? I’m not from around here though. My father lived in Boston area, he was born in PA.
@jakesgrl6378 watching from byesville,ohio
@@stacihartman48 my husband is the Wyckoff. His family founded Wyckoff New Jersey. There were 2 brothers who came from Holland, peter and Cornelius. We are from Peter's lineage! Goes back to the 1200's!
@Bev Wyckoff If it’s the Peter Claesen lineage from Holland then we are definitely distantly related. My oldest brother is the family historian and knows much more than I do but I do know that much. Tell your husband “Hi cousin!” 😁
Not only are you talented but your sister is an AMAZING artist!!
Great stuff! You're both lovely ladies and very talented! "Love your show!" By the way, how did you keep your camera so steady through out the entire time?!
Melissa A. I know I usually feel nauseas after most other videos like this it’s so instead the whole time but her videos are always done so nice!
Oh my goodness! Your sister has such talent!!! Just like you!!
I need to go thrifting, haven’t been in awhile
It is so much fun. It is an escape for me.
Love your thrifting videos, my husband and i visited all of the places you shared in your last thrifting video and loved them all, we were just talking about going again soon. I can’t wait to add the new ones to the list. If you have any driving short cuts to share that would be great. Love your area and we go often. We just had Miller homes build our house from there and love it so much. Thank you for taking us along. 🙂
What a fun video. I can't wait to see what you do with the pieces you purchased. Your sister's drawings are amazing!
