- Consistently ranked as one of the top wooden coasters in the world since it opened in 2006, this Intamin prefabricated plug 'n play coaster still runs as good as it ever has. Standing 181 feet (55 m) tall, its 76° 176 foot (54 m) drop propels the train at speeds up to 70 mph (110 km/h) along 4,400 feet (1,300 m) of track. But what really sets it apart from all the other wooden coasters is the amazing ejector airtime riders get over each of those huge hills.

The back of El Toro is a brutal experience
you mean worth or crazy airtime the back is for thrill seekers only since the front you dont feel it nearly as much
jptothetree Yeah. It whipped me over the back on the drop. It pulled you over the hills aswell and on the bottom of the last hill it puts your head down so hard. Ugh! Still fun though.
It’s a *divine* experience
The back of El Toro is like the true feeling a riding a bull. It whips you, and the ride is constantly fast in the back. It is a bit rougher, but honestly, it's still smooth for a wood coaster. That's what I love about wood coasters: feeling that pothole or texture of the track beneath you. It just makes you realize more that you are on a wood coaster, and El Toro now feels a lot more wooden, even if it's still smooth.
@@TonyKimtheamusementparkfan It is haha!! I only remember one thing. When me and a few other people went on El Toro my head was bobbling the whole time so in the picture my head was on the seat in front of me ahha!
I'm amazed at how Great Adventure is still able to maintain this ride, and give it necessary track work when needed, despite the model not needing as much maintenance as a traditional wood coaster.
Amazing ride. The back row on this is one of the most intense experiences I've ever had. The airtime is so forceful you feel like flying off of your seat. Gosh I love it

Trust me it’s way more scarier and higher than it looks
What makes this ride scary is the lap bars being so low. It leaves so much of your body exposed to the forces of the ride. Feels like you're not even restrained.

I remember it like yesterday coming there like what happen to "VIPER" and it's a wooden?!?! (PAUSE)
Then going up so quickly (cable) and start tripping at looking at the first drop like..... WE'RE DOING THAT?!?! THEN AIRTIME EJECTOR MOMENTS ARE CLASSIC!!!
rode this today for the first time. it was awesome and i rode it in the front

Just to give people the heads up not too far from This Theme Park there is a mall being built at the Medowlands called American Dream Mall. It has an indoor amusement park with a couple of roller coasters.
Love so much this intamin wooden roller coaster ❤ just want riding it anytime!..

The only problem I have is that I can’t stand the drop on nitro and I’ve been told this was much worse than that. Do you the feeling on everything drop?
Dawkins Varner it feels like your on o mechanical bull trying to buck you off from 176 feet in the air. Nitro is WAY MORE CALM

Think of it as falling from a cliff.... it is more intense with the ejector airtime being insane. U are launched out of ur seat each hill following the drop....May not be for u if u don't like high intensity coasters like this.
This was the only ride I ever was passed out on on idk why I went on king da ka and it didn't happen

Trenyce’s Troubles the only wooden coaster I’ve ridden that doesn’t make a click clack sound going up the lift hill and doesn’t sounds like it’s gonna dilapidate
If your a first timer and u don’t like tall and extreme coasters should u sit in the front or back? (aka less butterflies)

The ride looks incomplete without rolling thunder. They could at least throw some bushes and trees around the second half of the eltoro to make it more beautiful.
