I just got to know Bassem through his recent legendary interview with Morgan, in which he destroyed him by the way. He’s truly a well educated knowledgeable human. Huge respect ❤

What Bassem said it true. I bought a used car from an Iranian guy in Fresno, ca. and when I met up to look at the car, he actually had to tell me he was from Iran BUT he was not radical Muslim. WTF? I told him I didn’t give a shit where he was from or his beliefs. I just was interested in his car for sale. So, the fact that he felt he needed to say that. Wow. End story, great guy, I bought the vehicle and it was a transaction with trust on both sides and was perfect. Great guy

Aside from being brilliant and funny and much-needed in this world right now, he also happens to be the most handsome Egyptian man since Omar Sharif. :)
He looks cool too (I didn't know he was Egyptian as well!), but Bassem still wins on looks. :) Helwa wa aroob wa gamil (trying to remember some Arabic, but it's not working very well!).
Two very talented people from two ancient countries, which have deep and glorious history and culture, escaped from their homeland to find peace and freedom in another part of the world. Why is that? Why do countries like Iran, Egypt, and others, which had the biggest civilizations in the past, have to suffer from autocratic governments? What is the cause?
So happy Maz said that comedians are supposed to make fun of those with power, not victims. This is something that some white American male comedians don't seem to get when you hear these jokes about rape and not even making fun of the rapist but the joke is on the victim and if you raise your voice as a woman to critique it, we're basically told to shut up and will be ridiculed and called names. So good on you Maz. You're one of the male comedians who gets it. :)
Iran has a noble and proud history and culture and civilization. The world today needs true and sincere muslims, who are proud of their wonderful religion in these confusing and perverted times, where humanity is mixing right and wrong, and anti religious beliefs are making way for immoralities.
Their Religion is not wonderful, its the most effective brainwashing tool to ever exist to this day. However this doesn't mean that muslims are bad people because they follow it . Its a complicated matter but getting brainwashed all of your life in to false ideas and beliefs puts you in an automatic defensive mode because that is all we know. This is coming from an egyptian ex muslim. Trust me Look into it and it would not take long before you realize that you have been fooled into believing that its wonderful and flawless.
He could have influenced them to overthrow the military as well but the oppressing regime couldn't handle even two episodes of his satire show. So Bassim had integrity and refused to comply and preferred exile to America over staying in Egypt and changing his hard line on the existing regime whatever it is
it would be hilarious if Bassem one day told John Stewart that hes also an aspiring builder and he has a plan for a new pyramid in LA and was wondering if John could help him with that.
If we all realize that we are on this earth temporarily and this earthly life is temporary..and we all realize we are spiritual being and we all end up as spirits in the next life..maybe we won't care so much about all these..and instead we realize as human beings really we are as one..because we're spiritual beings and we all end up in the next life as spirits and next life doesn't care about the things we care about in this world..the main reason we are here as a whole is to work on our spirits and be ready for the next life..just knowing that will us realize that we really are as one..and the ultimate one that makes a decision of our soul and destiny will be God in the next life! And that is the most important thing to realize that..nothing else matters but our goal of making it to heaven in the next life..and religion has come to unite us .but is not here to divide us..cause all religions are from God and really there's no difference..the only difference is that they came at different times and different places..therefore the rules are progressive according to the requirements of time
Comedians may be more informative that Journalist, but at the same time them like journalist have their ideas and books to sell. You may notice it they all bring their books to promote, and they are part of the entertainment industry,
Its the way of the world, otherwise how can they be "professional speakers" and spent time on their ideas and thought if they dont have the funding and the free time to do so.
Nowruz is older than the formation of most if not all countries. It's also been celebrated in some Eastern European communities too. It belongs to the ancient practice of celebrating Spring among Indo-Europeans. It's called the Persian New Year cause Iranian people (Persians, Kurds, Lurs, Azeris, …) kept it alive. Persian is just an umbrella term for all those ethnicities.
I’ve heard the “It’s a Chuck Norris movie” explanation several times. It’s not all right to perpetuate stereotypes on film projects. I’m convinced that’s where uneducated Trump supporters form their opinions…in addition to FOX news, of course.
Isnt it funny as we humans naturally do not want to face cruelty and inhumanity. Just turn to comedy. A simple human reaction. Unlike the bloodthirsty inhumane cruelty that we are faced with
Maz is funny, but sad to see him be ashamed of his roots, instead of owning them. Hope he gets out of his inferiority complex and owns his religion also, otherwise, what's the point of basing his routine on his Iranian ethnicity, if he is basically rejecting everything Iranian in his life..
