Not being mean but please please research and educate. Blacklights WILL blind your fish and burn them from over exposure. Those fish as well as everything else in that pond will die. Use blue LED lights to get the same cool effect but without the harm. Just trying to pass on a little knowledge, out of love for animals. Maybe others will see my comment and not use a blacklight trying to replicate this. Instead use Blue LED lights, they work wonderfully

@@lyla_1558 they glow bc they reflect light. A blue led light would do the same thing, without exposure to harmful rays. Glofish glow bc they have been genetically modified. Do a little research on em
The reason using a black-light is a bad idea is because it produces mostly UV light that is damaging to the eyes. You should never stare directly at a black-light, and neither should your fish!

@@hoofynessishere6206 being agressive with a fish causes stress. For example, the way he put them in the box AND pond, pouring them in the pond like that can cause stress and kill them, you're supposed to ease the fish into their new environment. Not dump them in.
Not just the way he handled them causing stress, BUT blacklights will cause those fish, as well as everything else in his pond to die. Blacklights cause blindness when exposed for long periods of time. He could get the same cool effect, glowing fish, by just using blue LED lights only. I wish people would educate themselves a bit before experimentations like this.
I have glo fish and I know for fact most these fish died just based on how sensitive they are
They are made sensitive, by injection to give them color.

@@CreatedMind I've been in the hatchery in Malaysia with our European wholesalers, where they grow the tetra's and other potential glofish. I have seen how they're getting injected. Where is your research based on then?

I might be late responding but I just wanted to say, they were actually meant to help the environment by only glowing when the water is toxic or dangerous to wildlife but the scientists got it wrong so they glow constantly. They went in pain and they were created by people trying to help the world.

Blacklights will cause your fish to go blind from uv. Blue LED lights would work just as well and would not harm the fish.
Skirt tetras are an excellent choice because they handle subtropical- tropical water. 60 degreees no problem for them . That can KO alot of tropicals either instantly or in a few days
