1. Treating feeder fish any less respectful than pet fish is not cool
2. Dumping them all in a net like that and placing them in a tub with no oxygen - also not cool
3. Bathtubs are so unsafe for any fish because they can drain/hold chemicals (soaps etc) that will leech into their water
4. Fish aren't toys you don't just play with them for your amusement

Any type of stress will kill a fish I did a water change and learned my lesson not to move them to another tank several of my fish died from stress

Things I see wrong here:
1. Unsafe containers-the cooler and the bleach can both contain and leach chemicals that are deadly to fish (including the fish they’re going to feed these fish to)
2. Way too small containers + no oxygen or filter + way too many fish = suffocation and ammonia poisoning
3. Going backward through the tube = suffocation
4. “They don’t look stressed” they’re LITERALLY swimming upstream trying to breathe ok how much more stressed can they get
5. Studies show fish can, in fact, feel pai, fear and distress
Even if they’re feeder fish, they should be treated humanely. They’re live animals, not toys.

To people arguing about whether it is or isn’t animal cruelty. If the bathtub was properly detoxified beforehand, then the chemicals wouldn’t be harmful to the fish. The tube is big enough so that way the fish aren’t being squeezed, and I will give him credit for making the initial drop low enough so that the fish don’t die of shock when they are sucked down. However, I don’t really think it matters if the fish are necessarily harmed or not. Obviously they can be seen swimming against the current, and trying to escape the tube/avoiding the initial entry point. This is a very scary thing for the fish to have to go through, and they are being whipped around in the “Cinnabon”, which when the fish are facing backwards can hurt their fins as they try to swim against the current. The main difference between a person riding a rollercoaster and a fish, is that a person understands that “wow, the adrenaline rush and fear is only temporary, and there is little chance I will actually be hurt” while a fish is probably thinking “OH FUCK SHIT IM GOING TO FUCKING DIE WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING HOLY SHIT” or something to that extent. It’s why pets like dogs and cats can’t ride in rollercoasters; they don’t understand that they will be safe, and that there can be things like a “good” rush of adrenaline.
So maybe he did everything right, and the fish weren’t every physically harmed. He cleaned the tub, put stuff in the water to keep them from dying etc etc. But what he didn’t do is understand that animals, generally speaking here, don’t have large/smart enough brains to understand that sometimes scary things can be fun. This situation is similar to if someone were to take a dog, put it in a carrier, and strap it safely to a rollercoaster. Or if you were to take a cat and jump/yell at it to scare it, for what these guys call “fun”.
So in short. I think that it doesn’t matter if the fish got harmed or not. They were scared and put through a pretty horrible experience for no reason then some meathead’s entertainment. So maybe what these guys did doesn’t fall under “abuse” necessarily, but it sure as Hell falls under cruelty.
I have a pet bearded dragon, and we feed him crickets every so after that we get from a pet store down the road. It’s a fact of life. Carnivores and Omnivores eat other animals to live. They’re just built that way. But When I feed him the crickets, I don’t rip their fucking legs off, or swing them around in a bag till they are dizzy, or pick them up before they’re about to be eaten, only to drop them back into the dragon’s tank. There’s a respect to life that people should have, at least that’s the general consensus I think. You may not feel bad for stepping on ants, but we sure as hell can feel bad for the ants that are burned alive by some asshole kid with a magnifying glass. Same concept here. Those are goldfish, common feeder fish for bigger fish that enjoy then as treats (because goldfish really aren’t very nutritional). It’s okay to put them in the tank and have them eaten by the bigger fish, but when you prolong the inevitable, when you disrespect the animal, when you disregard it’s life like that. That’s when It crosses a line with people.
Animals die because other animals and people need food. The only difference between a cat plying with a dying mouse and a human killing a cow, is that a cat can’t really emphasise with the mouse. It doesn’t have what we call “humanity”. But most of the time people do(although these assholes do prove this point invalid), which is why so many people advocate for “humane” slaughterhouses for livestock.
In short, the whole argument over “is or is this not animal abuse?” Doesn’t really matter. These guys don’t have any respect for the fish, are subsequently cruel to them, and I think their assholes for that fact.

I had a tarantula once, so I also had to buy crickets, and I always treated them with the respect all animals rightfully deserve. Even made them their own terrarium so they were comfortable.

Shock? Yes in the sense that a drastic change in their surroundings can be overwhelming. Pain? No, fish can not feel pain on a conscious level. They might register damage, but not pain. In many ways a fish is not much different then a robot they don't register emotions the way more complex animals do. What you're doing is humanizing them like so many people that know nothing about animals do.
They can register damage but isn’t what pain is? If you put your hand on a hot stove and burned yourself, your body would alert you which is technically registering damage. Us humans just call it pain.

To me this guy is unprofessional. He literally bought at least 250 goldfish and put it into a cooler, with no filter or oxygen. He did say they were feeder goldfish but then again, they are still animals and should be treated with respect. To me this is animal abuse and causes lots of stress to the goldfish. He’s telling people that this ‘technique’ is safe. Honestly lost one of your subs dude. Also, what does he do with all of them? He encourages younger viewers to abuse animals. Fish are not toys or used for tests. And at the end, he says they’re ‘happy’ and ‘healthy’ when all of them are probably stressed. This is just plain out messed up. Fish are friends not content.

For 1, This is animal abuse.
I understand that these are feeder fish, but this is extremely stressful for them and it is not at all safe.
Fish can die from stress quite easily, and just because they are feeder fish does not mean that their health is not important. The healthier your feeder fish are, The healthier your pet fish will be.
I strongly encourage everyone not to purchase feeder fish. It may be a quick and easy and cheap way to feed carnivorous fish, but they are raised in awful conditions and fed food with the nutritional value of cardboard. When I clean my tank with a siphon tube like this I’m worried that one of the fish will go inside and be stuck in the tube with all the things the tube is cleaning that could be harmful to the fish, but this guy is fully embracing my fear with joy, as he tortures the fish by sending them down a tube the fish don’t know the location of. I used to feed fish to my snake, but you should always treat them with care, even before they die. Also, moving the fish to another tank without exposing them to the water could cause shock to the fish and kill them.
