Always make sure the stove top is completely cooled down. Surprising how many people are not aware of this. Thanks for the info. Save money and no harsh chemicals.

Great green method for a tough cleaning task. Thanks. Production tip: You might consider trying different lighting and camera angles. The stovetop looks the same before and after in this video. None of the dirt or stains is visible.

You might want to put your baking soda in something you can shake it, so you have even coverage, without chunkiness, if one's baking soda is lumpy.

We had to replace a glass top cooktop in our new house. Nasty looking rings developed around each burner very soon and we quickly contacted the builder and the manufacturer. Under warranty, but the manufacturer said we violated the warranty because we used glass Cleaner product that had ammonia as an ingredient. It could be anything used on the cooktop containing ammonia. We thought we knew how to clean our stove. We'd had a "glass cooktop" for over 20 years that could take any cleaner with a soft towel. Used the ceramics cleaner on it if anything really stuck on with a razor blade scraper. Sometimes we used bartender's friend. All our cleaning history was under suspicion now! I went online to find friendly and safe cleaning products. No ammonia for the granite or cooktop. Special products for all the new stainless appliances and brushed nickel plumbing and specially careful for the quartz bathroom vanities cleaning. Using a damp microfiber towel was demanded with a new range cooktop manufacturer. And all the other manufacturers of the newest additions of appliances and plumbing fixtures. Use a microfiber towel and products specific to the application. Stainless gets Stainless cleaner. Stone gets different cleaner. Tubs and showers can use this recipe or one dubbed "the miracle cleaner recipe here on YT.

Although this method is good to know, it is completely unnecessary if you just wipe the thing down every time you use it. Then once a week take a bit of polish to the whole thing. Takes about ten minutes and you don't have to go through all of that mess he just went through with 5 different products. I use chrome polish once a week or two on the stove. Apply the polish just like you would wax on a car. Let dry then just wipe it off and you're done. And the polish helps to keep future messes from sticking as bad.
