DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use that scrubber unless you want to completely ruin your stove top... it will leave scratches, I couldn’t even finish watching this video knowing you all are going to ruin your stove you are just trying to clean
Every time I encounter DIY cleaning hacks, the presenter always use the mixture of vinegar and baking soda. You can get a better result if using baking soda alone. Baking soda is Basic and vinegar is Acidic. Combining the two, they will neutralize each other. The reason you got some good results because you scrubbed it while the reaction was going on. You could have gotten a better result with baking soda/water paste alone, or baking soda/dishwashing liquid combination.
Thanks for watching the video. I will try this combination as well. But as you rightly said, the reaction in soda bicarb and vinegar is the key. Also vinegar has degreasing properties as well.
I think what turns everyone giddy about the baking soda/vinegar combo is the bubbles. They think this is a sign that it is a powerful cleaning agent. Mixing Baking soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) and vinegar (dilute Acetic Acid) causes causes two reactions to occur, neutralizing the acid and base. The first intermediate reaction forms the products Sodium Acetate and Carbonic Acid. Then the carbonic acid decomposes into Carbon Dioxide and water. It is the carbon dioxide that results from the decomposition of the carbonic acid that makes the bubbles and other than perhaps some slight agitation action, this has little to no effect on cleaning. As you said, they would have better results using just the baking soda or just the vinegar alone without mixing them together. It never ceases to amaze me how smooth brained so many people are. They accept anything they are told without applying any sort of logical test to determine if it is reasonable. It's like nobody has a BS filter anymore.
I don’t know if you mentioned in the video but this is for the negative commenters who “ruined their stovetop”. You HAVE to get 0000 steel wool. It’s much finer and made to clean glass. Works great on the inside of the oven door as well. Great video. This is how I clean my stovetop and it stays looking new without any scratches.
Schelle7000 I know it sounds scary to scrub it with metal scrubber but most of the glass tops are scratch proof and even if they are not, the steel wool scrubber will not harm it... but I hope this method helps... as per me, it is one of the best methods to clean using natural ingredients..
Me too... I breathed so deep I nearly swallowed my tongue! I just used a microfibre cloth, lId it on the hob, poured hot water to soften, then took it to rinse, sprinkled bicarb, and used elbow grease to gently scrub with the microfibre. It's all shiny apart from the scratches the previous tenant caused by using cheap pans... :(
@@PinkyFruitcake get a substance called Pink Stuff by Stardrops. Wet a cloth, stick your finger in it and grab a blob of the pink stuff. Rub in circular motions over the whole area. When you've done the whole area, rinse the cloth in cold water then use it to wipe off the pink stuff. You'll notice the difference
I used steel wool on mine even tho i was worried it would scratch, but if you are gentle and patient it does work, just keep it wet or use a hob cleaner with it
Guys a quick opinion Don't scrub with stainless steel scourers It definitely cleaned everything but later on very prominent scratches As i live in a rented house this is a bad idea
I have used baking soda but never scrubbed with steel wool. I use a razor blade to GENTLY scrape off the tough buildup. Last few times, I used Barkeeper’s Friend with amazing results. I flip appliances, and it actually seems to work faster than baking soda paste. Sometimes, I will finish cleaning with glass cleaner and really wipe it down with paper towels or moist rag. I am not saying you can’t use steel wool. Just saying I don’t. If you use steel wool, be very careful how hard you scrub. For one thing, I would not want particles of the steel wool to get in the groove around the edges and rust.
Thanks for watching and giving your detailed feedback and letting us learn your method. We all are together in this learning process. You can subscribe to our channel for more such support. Thanks.
I like your method but there’s one thing I highly recommend you buying that will save you money. That’s a microfibre cloth, it works wonders i promise. Replace the paper towels with the microfibre cloth
I made tamales the other day on my brand new stove and forgot to check the water. It dried up, and tamale juice dripped into the pan, burned, smoked, and dripped burnt juice all over my new cooktop. It was a hard mess and looked stained, not just caked on. I looked up what to do, and every one mentions baking soda and vinegar. What I did was sprinkled baking soda all over, sprayed vinegar all over, and laid a wet towel on top. I let it sit over night. The next morning, I took the towel off and attached with rubber bands a new scotch brite green sponge to the end of one hand held mixer attachment, and went to town over the whole stove. I would hold it over the areas I knew were bad for about 10 seconds. It took everything off the surface (left the stove burner rings that are supposed to be there), and there is NO residue left (I closed my eyes and felt the surface too) except for maybe a couple of little spots that look iridescent, and you cannot see unless at a certain angle. The scrubber did not scratch the stove! (A steal one I think would though!)
I don't usually comment but it would be nice if you could put a statement saying that "use steel wool at your own risk, some cooktops are not anti scratch“. Instead of solving my problem, there are now additional scratches on my cooktop :(
VatorXavier2208 ummm, I think for princy m, it’s too late. Yeah, steel wool isn’t a great idea for most surfaces, it’s sort of used as a last resort, and as a general rule of thumb, only use it on either steel products, or glass products.
princy m this video is not meant to remove scratches in anyway, those will be there forever no matter what so it’s best to never scratch it. She said “soft steel” “not applying pressure”. It is a video on cleaning the grime stuck on ur glass top with non hazardous chemicals.
Clean as you go is the golden rule! Never leave it for another day. It will look clean, fresh and new forever. Especially avoid that scrubbing steel wire. Crazy!!!
Yeah your a retard because she just scratched the glass so bad that it will literally need a glass filled to fix it and using metal on glass is the most moronic idea I've ever heard of. She literally must no be able to comprehend anything she's doing!
@@roberttrego9392 thanks for watching and taking time to reply.., I have used a high 0000 fine mesh to scratch gently.:: my stovetop is absolutely scratch free and have never required any glass fillers.. 🙂

You can also use regular glass cleaning on the whole stove... and dry it off with some newspaper (take off the thumbtack so it dosnt scratch the surface)
Do not follow the advice in this video unless you want to scratch the ever loving shit out of your glass cooktop. Never, ever use steel wool of any kind on a stove top like this. It will be destroyed afterwards, make no mistake about it. Also, avoid your cook top getting this bad by simply being more careful to avoid spills, and by cleaning the damn thing after every use. It is not that hard, and saves you tons of time and money. The cook top in this video is ruined from neglect/abuse, and really should be replaced.
I attached with rubber bands a new scotch brite green sponge to the end of one hand held beater/mixer attachment, and went to town over my whole stove. I would hold it over the areas I knew were bad for about 10 seconds. Clean every bit of crap off, and did not scratch the top at all. No steal sponge.
Wow some of these comments are ridiculous!!! She made a video to show you how to clean the stove top if you need to leave a negative comment why did you even click on the video??
Never use any type of metal scrubber! It will take off the burnt stuff, but ruins your stove top at the same time! Not sure why she's doing that, unless her stove top surface was already ruined.
Thanks for watching.... using a soft grade steel mesh won’t harm if your stovetop is scratch proof... but you are most welcome, not to use it and only use the rest of the ingredients for a sparkling ✨ 🧼clean stovetop ..

@@HoneyBunnyOnline Try using barkeeper's friend it's far less damaging. Steel wool is not scratch resistant, it leaves very fine scratches. Now these fine lines trap more food/grease and dirt. All the benefits from steel wool are so temporary but lasting negative effects. Sorry if this offended you or if u disagree but it's the truth.

Dishwashing liquid. Works really well. Just drip a few dots on any stain wait for a little than wipe off. And indeed it gets the scratches out too. @@nesretepp She really was! Especially because it's still fairly new she was VERY happy and now I showed her this method too because she was shocked as to how well it worked and is using it too. :)
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use that scrubber unless you want to completely ruin your stove top... it will leave scratches, I couldn’t even finish watching this video knowing you all are going to ruin your stove you are just trying to clean
Arica Brockelbank i feel the same way.. using metallic scrubber on a glass cooktop is the worst idea.
Thought the same thing. I was already queasy from that and nearly threw up when they used TISSUES to soak up the mess
my stove was fine after I had been scrubbing it for more than 1 hour hhhh... Now it is clean and smooth
Clean but lost all the shine due to Micro scratches.
🙋🏾♀️🙋🏾♀️🙋🏾♀️🙋🏾♀️🙋🏾♀️ I am too.. she is total crazy. Afff!!!🤬🤬🤬
This is AMAZING! I've been wondering how to get the stains off for a long time. Thankyou!!
Thanks fir watching and so happy to help
I don't think it's wise to use the steel on glass it will scratch it for sure
That shocked me.
Don't know about wire scrubber. But will defiantly try with nylon scrubber. Thank you
Every time I encounter DIY cleaning hacks, the presenter always use the mixture of vinegar and baking soda.
I cleaned my stove by using your method , 95% off the stains are gone. However, I used a scraper instead of the metal thingy.

Thanks for telling this very easy method of cleaning heater plate
Thanks for watching... hope it works for you too...
I was hopeful until the steel wool came out PEOPLE DONT DO THAT
Finally something to clean that's actually dirty!!
Amazing !!!! Thank you for relieving my stress!!!
Thanks for watching. Hope it helps
Thanks for watching and your support
That's not "0000" steel wool she's using.
Better, but definitely not completely clean. Still looks burned to me. I also cringed when you started scrubbing it with a metal scrubber.
Yo recomiendo frotar con el mismo guante de goma
Honestly you did amazing!!! You deserve the success of this video. 3 years later still relevant
Thanks a lot.
I actually used baking powder and vinegar and a huge burnt spot came right up, wonderful!
Did it a scrapper to make the burn stain came off?
It really worked! I had to repeat it a few times but the result was good. Thank you for making this video
Thanks for watching. So happy with your results.
As soon a saw the steel wool big nope . That hob will be scratched
I used steel wool on mine even tho i was worried it would scratch, but if you are gentle and patient it does work, just keep it wet or use a hob cleaner with it
It doesn't scratch. I use it all the time.
Me too lol
Such great info. I run into the same issues. I don't like to use all those crazy chemicals, so this really helps.
Thanks for watching...glad it helps...
Guys a quick opinion
Don't scrub with stainless steel scourers
It definitely cleaned everything but later on very prominent scratches
As i live in a rented house this is a bad idea
I wouldn't be using the steel scrubber, it will scratch the glass
Not really
No, I use it.

DO NOT use the soft metal scrubber it will scratch your stove top. use a cloth or a microfiber cloth.
Please give it a test patch on a corner...we used it because the stovetop is scratch proof
You need to scrap off the burnt others are using metal scrapers too , you can’t use cloth to remove the burnt
This is Cutie Ringo Joy that’s the whole idea of using the stuff that we have at home..
I agree as a house cleaner I know this thing scratch the stoves any kind of stove top
I use it every time. It works well and no scratch on the glass.
Thank you for that very useful tip. I will use that going forward.
Thanks for watching and your support.
I like your method but there’s one thing I highly recommend you buying that will save you money. That’s a microfibre cloth, it works wonders i promise. Replace the paper towels with the microfibre cloth
Thank you so much for this amazing hob cleaning method. Mega blessings to you.
Thanks for watching and your kind words… hope it helps
Indy Boheme so happy that this method helped... thanks for sharing your experience... and thanks for watching...
I don't usually comment but it would be nice if you could put a statement saying that "use steel wool at your own risk, some cooktops are not anti scratch“. Instead of solving my problem, there are now additional scratches on my cooktop :(
You could alternatively use a microfiber cloth. It won't scratch it :)
VatorXavier2208 ummm, I think for princy m, it’s too late. Yeah, steel wool isn’t a great idea for most surfaces, it’s sort of used as a last resort, and as a general rule of thumb, only use it on either steel products, or glass products.
She used a soft steel scrubber
princy m this video is not meant to remove scratches in anyway, those will be there forever no matter what so it’s best to never scratch it. She said “soft steel” “not applying pressure”. It is a video on cleaning the grime stuck on ur glass top with non hazardous chemicals.
This is too good to be true I’m definitely going to try it, but this looks amazing
Thanks for watching, please give it a try, it would definitely work for you.
Omg dont try it well the scrubbing part. It will SCRATCH the glass.
Of course it looks shiny and clean when its wet. Show us what it looks like when its dry.
Clean as you go is the golden rule! Never leave it for another day. It will look clean, fresh and new forever. Especially avoid that scrubbing steel wire. Crazy!!!
OMG! why are you using steel scorcher!!! there are razor blade scraper available for cleaning these stoves, you should use that
Yes, I did it. It was an amazing result. Thank you, the owner of the channel

Never use steel wire to scrub on glass top
Good job, thanks for sharing!
This is why it's hard to clean and it gets dirty fast. Don't ever use metal scrab on the glass stovetop, it leaves scratches on it.
You can also use regular glass cleaning on the whole stove... and dry it off with some newspaper (take off the thumbtack
so it dosnt scratch the surface)
I use bi-carb soda and lemons (real lemons) no scrubs, no toothbrush
Do not follow the advice in this video unless you want to scratch the ever loving shit out of your glass cooktop. Never, ever use steel wool of any kind on a stove top like this. It will be destroyed afterwards, make no mistake about it.
Also, avoid your cook top getting this bad by simply being more careful to avoid spills, and by cleaning the damn thing after every use. It is not that hard, and saves you tons of time and money. The cook top in this video is ruined from neglect/abuse, and really should be replaced.
right never use that and don't do this!!! you can see in the end she damaged the rings!!!
I think her cooking skills are just as her cleaning skills.

Dear sister u r causing more damage by using a steel wool please don't use a steel wool use a scotch Brite or regular kitchen scrub and it will work just as fine......
M Merrie thanks for watching..
I had to use steel wool cz this one was burnt very bad. And also it is totally scratch proof. I would say you can use regular kitchen scrubs or high grade soft wire mesh..
It’s great if this mixture can help you with simple scotch brite...
@@HoneyBunnyOnline Try using barkeeper's friend it's far less damaging. Steel wool is not scratch resistant, it leaves very fine scratches. Now these fine lines trap more food/grease and dirt. Which is why it gets that dirty to begin with. I know us Indians have a tendency towards steel wool but I say steel wool be used for nothing. All the benefits from steel wool are so temporary but lasting negative effects. Sorry if this offended you or if u disagree but it's the truth.
M Merrie thanks for your views... I totally agree that steel wool is not the best friend in kitchen but the one I am using is very gentle wool wire mesh... but may be you are right in your saying but my stove is still shiny bright considering I made this video 2 years back... regular maintenance does help...
M Merrie steel wool is softer on the mohs scale of hardness when compared to the ceramic glass used on cooktops. Softer materials physically can’t scratch harder ones.
Thanks so much! I love using natural ingredients ❤

thank you so much just helped me get out of a grounding for burning milk on the stove

Steel scrub can result in scratches ideally use a sponge

The very first night I moved into my apartment, I cooked up 10 pounds of hamburger, so the grease had dripped underneath the pan, and it totally ruined my stove 1-1/2 years ago. I have not been able to get it cleaned off with any stovetop products. so I need try this before my lease is up, bec I was reading through the Lease agreement, and each area has potential fees of $50-400!

Is this works for your stove at the end ?
Thanx alot dear
It really worked.

Dishwashing liquid. Works really well. Just drip a few dots on any stain wait for a little than wipe off. And indeed it gets the scratches out too. I use Palmolive one that says instantly cuts through grease. And believe me / this formula works. Use a heavy-duty sponge scouring pad to wipe away tough stains while the sponge holds detergent and water to provide a complete clean.
