I loved playing Sagat and Vega on This version of SF...I got my ass handed to me by my mom when she found out I was cutting classes and hanging out at the arcade all day....
When did this version come out on Arcade? Am I missing something. I remember Super Street fighter 2 Turbo on Arcade before it came out for Sega Saturn. But I don't ever remember Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo Hyper fighting. I remember only 2 Arcade games with an Akuma playable character, SSF2Turbo and Xmen: Children of The Atom. At least before Alpha and all the other iterations of Street Fighter.

Why do so many hate this character so much? He could be beaten by speed, agility, and feinting, but so could everyone on the game. But his high and low fire plus his uppercut/lunging knee were amazing!

Bait them with a move that attempts to get them to lunge; they miss, then you counter...That or time them right before they can land an attack. On Sagat, you have to slowly get close and then do what I said...
The one thing about playing versus battle in arcades that I won't miss is putting In quarters/tokens to play and all your opponents keep picking the same characters.
I must have missed this one. After Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo was on Arcade, I played it on the Sega Saturn before I got into Tekken 3 & Tag, Killer Instinct 1&2, and Ultra Mortal Kombat 3. Arcades stopped getting new games in my area soon after that because they couldn't compete with Playstation.
Does Dee Jay do massive damage or does Sagat have low HP? he does like way more damage per hit to Sagat than Sagat does to him. Also what's with the grab from Zangief? took like 85% of his hp off with 1 move wtf is that? Even max difficulty that is ridiculous.
This was still a good game but I preferred the old art style, moves and sound effects of sf2 and ce. Wasn't massive fan of the new fighters especially T Hawk. Perfect for me would have been to keep CE graphics but improve the ai and maybe adjust existing moves a bit, eg so can't duck under Chun Li bird kick

Both CE sagat and CE ryu are top tier
He is often just ahead of Ryu and Ken in tier ranking. When he's not he tends to be right behind them. Dude's been crushing it since '87.
Of course Sagat is. He's a boss character. Playable bosses are always a tier above the regular characters in fighting games if you use them correctly.
