Man there are so many reactors that go waaay overboard on B-M reactions but you can spot a mile off that they'll just say what the listener wants to hear to get likes & subs. Personally, I classify BOTH of these tracks as masterworks...and they're COMPLETELY different. But when I first saw this live performance video of "Black Hole", I finally started to realize The Maids can do A N Y T H I N G! GREAT Reaction, Velcro!!! 🕊

That was a fun reaction. I knew you would love Black Hole. People either love it or think it is chaotic random noise. The music fits the lyrics perfectly.
Their ability to seemingly master whatever style they are playing is one of their more impressive qualities.

@VelcroReacts There are quite a few non MV tracks from their last 2 albums (Unseen World and Unleash) that fit that bill. In particular I think you would enjoy Giovanni and Corallium. No official MV though. They do have audio only on their channel in the Playlist. Although the quality is much better in YT Music app than YT. Seems less compressed.
Anyway I know you have quite the backlog already but something to keep in back of your mind.

I'm not trained to read human expressions so I may be wrong but I'm going to go out on a limb here and take a wild guess that you liked this double bill just a little bit, especially the controlled chaos of Black Hole and its 200 BPM finish. Great reaction!

My friend, I have a lot of things to say about BAND MAID, but now I only want to mention one thing. Kanami writes the draft of the song and shares it with the girls. It seems that the girls do what they want, especially Misa and Akane. In Black Hole, Akane created seven different patterns for the song and she asked for their input. The first pattern was something like 'easy, stupid', all the way up to the seventh pattern called 'hell' by Akane. She got the instant response from of all the girls saying 'hell' without hearing any pattern.
Akane was in shock, 'what the fuck !', but laughing because she knows the meaning of that: 220 b.p. m... hahaha. She made it and she explained later this in an interview with all the girls laughing really, really hard.

Black Hole is definitely one of my top five. These two songs really show how versatile Kanami is as a composer. I believe it was during writing Unseen Worlds that Kanami said their managers insisted that she write a song every week. Of course they only worked a few of them up, but it really paid off in her ability to create different styles. She sends her demos to Misa first, and then to Akane after Misa has reworked Kanami's programmed bass part. So Misa has freedom to have a lot of impact on the final song. Kanami works up both guitar parts and usually plays both parts in the studio versions. Miku focuses on writing the lyrics and working with Saiki on vocal arrangements. But Miku has to learn to play these songs live. When I first saw her, she couldn't play at all. She just held her guitar as a prop. Man, she's come a long way.
I've talked about it before... Her progress is amazing.
Whatever they do,,which genre they fancy playing this week,they kill it everytime,,accoustic,blues,jazz,classic rock,hard rock,metal,thrash,instrumentals,,oh you have to see ,Onset,,live instrumental,Great reaction again.

You may hear something like Black Hole on other bands' albums, maybe, but you'll never hear them play it live because they can't pull it off. Not a problem for Band Maid. Whatever crazy shit Kanami and the rest of the band come up with they will execute it live.
Totally... I Remember hearing Through the fire and flames live for the first time... And I was like this sucks! That's an example of a band that bit more than they could chew at that point.

Yeah. The Barefoot Assassin owns both those songs. How many times have you ever heard a bass lead lick under a guitar solo as in Manners? Misa has such a groove to her.
Miku is not her usual cheery playful self in Black Hole. She is really concentrating to get the guitar & backing vocals right. Both of them sound really difficult to these old ears. She does a fantastic job. All the Maids are brilliant in these songs. Still one of my favorite videos from these fantastic little creatures.
Both are difficult songs, But I get why Miku has to concentrate on Black Hole keeping that pace up for a whole song is stupid hard.

I know everyone says how amazing they are live- and they are- but except for official lives where they properly recorded audio off the board, (which always sound great) with live's, you cant always guarantee good quality audio and balance no matter how well they play :)
And talking only about how amazing they play live is like saying the albums are not recorded great- when most of them are fantastically well produced- and give you the listening experience as they intended. Plenty of lives (especially if they say 'official' ) do have great audio tho, that said- so hopefully fans will direct you toward the best videos to react to.

Trying to encapsulate Band-Maid in just one genre is a waste of time... they do their own thing, and they're the absolute best at it
Can you believe that Manners and Black Hole belongs to the same album (Unseen World)?, that's what makes this band so great: you never know what to expect on the next track, but it will be awesome for sure
