Both of these songs are from the 2021 "Unseen World" album, which is a mind-bender. In a radio interview at the time, Miku explained: Kobato: Yeah, the concept of this album is a combination of the two themes “Return to the roots” [note: 原点回帰 in Japanese] and “Progress from the present” [note: 現点進化 in Japanese], po, and firstly, “Return to the roots”, meaning going back to the roots, is packed with songs we can write now with a little bit of our early-day taste, such as vocal harmony work, sound making, and the number of instrumental tracks that remind you of the early days of our eight-year history, po. And secondly, “Progress from the present” [note: a single word in Japanese] is probably an unfamiliar word for many of you, po. Because it’s a word created by me Kobato, po! (laughs) Po! There is a recent reddit post in r/BandMaid titled "Yojijukugo in Miku Kobato and Saiki’s lyrics" which starts with: "In _Song of Tokyo_ Episode 38 on 2023-03-20 JST, Miku Kobato explained her use of _yojijukugo,_ Japanese idioms consisting of four kanji, in her lyrics." You can look up an explanation of _yojijukugo_ in Wikipedia, but briefly it is an idiom of four kanji where the meaning can't necessarily be derived from their component words. She coined the "progress from the present" because she wanted a word to correspond to the existing idiom meaning "return to the roots". "Manners" is definitely 原点回帰 and "Black Hole" is definitely 現点進化.
Seriously, if you can, get to one of their US concerts this May. I saw them twice in October 2022. It is quite an experience. This is coming from someone who has seen Elton John, Paul McCartney, Van halen, etc., back in the days. They are a rebirth of rock for me. Plus, they are totally wonderful young women who are fantastic musicians as well as very connected to their fans. Band Maid has the full package of musicianship, song writing, and fan engagement that I have encountered in a very long time.
There are few bands if any that can make total chaos musically into an art form and make it work so well. Black Hole really shouldn't work as a piece of Rock Music. But it does and does it brilliantly. With this version of Manners I miss Miku echoing Saiki's words n the backing vocals in the first verse of the song. If you listen to earlier versions my poor description will make a bit more sense. By the way Neverending is a good title. Give it time they may write that song yet.
Could never do anything but agree with you, re:---- Miku's "echoing" backing vocals !!!!!!!!---one of my new favourite things about the band generally .!! Miku + Saiki---- is waaaaay more than the sum of the parts ! They were meant to be vocal-sisters !!!
No worries MVJ. It's an easy mistake to make what with "MANNERS" & "NEVER-ENDING" sounding nothing like each other. Lucky they haven't got a song called "BANNERS" i guess.
WARNING! (maybe your next song?) It's bad MANNERS to stop listening to Band-Maid because you'll feel starved for musical excellence and joy and fall into a "never ending" BLACK HOLE of emptiness... probably! 😵 Thx, Jordan!
Band-Maid played Manners when they opened for Guns n Roses and Saiki killed it.

From Bluesy Rock to Prog Punk mayhem. What more could you want! Manners has a great music video too you might want to check it out.
Both of these songs were off the "Unseen World" album. Please take care and have a great night!
No probs we're all human and more human, the older I/you get. Like your reactions what ever.
If you love this blues oriented rock (like me) from Manners, you're also going to love the song Bubble. I'd recommend it heartily!
I think BH was #21 of 22 and Manners was #9 of 22. They closed with (22) Freedom. 🦍🍌

You might feel a little Awkward, but I'll say you were probably Daydreaming at the Time.
Never Ending is a line in the song, so that's probably why you thought that was the title. It never says Manners in the lyrics of the song.

Ha ha brits are so good at friendly sarcasm!!
@@michaelthain4488 Lol. Well you have to grab these opportunities when they present themselves.😁
@@GaryHolloway-810 So true and you are a master at it
@@michaelthain4488 Gosh thx Michael.👍
Thanks MVJ!

I hope you check out the manners MV for yourself because the studio version is a lot better and more impactful imo that this live version.
(Sound is very quiet---can you up it a bit??? )
