Hey hey, coming to Winnipeg in April for a month or 2, I second shoot weddings with a S5IIX and a S5, I'd love to do some BTS with you on a wedding or even second shoot for you while I'm there.
I'm happy to see another filipino Software Engineer / Photographer / Lumix enthusiast. Such a specific combination of human and somehow we are both. Your setup looks awesome, hope to see more of your vids :D
Glad to see you back posting on RUclips. Lumix shooter here also - S5 and G9, looking at a S5II this year. Have the Panny 24-105 f4 that never leaves my S5. I’m also looking forward to what Lumix has in store this year. Happy 2024 🙌🏼
I still think that G9 with the v2 or newer firmware is one of the best deals ever for hybrid shooting! Excellent choice, that 24-105 is also always on one of my bodies.
Yeah, you are back!!! Congradulations on the new edition to your stable (and I am not talking about the S5 II). I do have one question for you though: do you find the image quality of the S5 II to be as good as that of the GH6? There are a lot of people who claim that most picture profiles are oversharpened (but have so much noise reduction that a lot of the fine skin textures are blurred). I don't know who to believe since I have seen both examples where the image quality is WORSE than the GH6 / original S5, and have seen samples where it is the same. Anyway, again, congradulations and glad to see you back again. Oh, one complaint: I know this is only a "talking head" video, but I really feel the depth of field is way too SHALLOW for this video. Yeah, I know that people currently LOVE the ultra-shallow DOF, but then again, people also love holding their Rode / DJI wireless mics instead of clipping them on.
You're totally right. That DOF is way too much! Noted and ty. So there was a VLOG firmware update after a few months to address that issue on June 13 with Ver.2.0: Others - Improved image quality when shooting with V-log. I had even asked about it on DSLR VideoShooter's Discord and other Lumix users confirmed as much. Honestly, because I was using the speed boosted EF glass so much, my 'sharpness' on the GH6 was already compromised!
Curious, what ISO are you shooting at frequently that doesn't work for you on the GH6? Also, obviously FF has an advantage when it comes to dynamic range and low light but do you notice any differences that the GH6 does better, is there better colour fidelity and tonality or anything? I'm wondering cause internal codecs and it rates are much lower on the S5s but does it actually make a difference?
Recently picked up the S5ii, do you find your joystick has a weird popping noise when using it. It's really off putting when the camera is up to your face.
@@lyndonlabayan so if you move the stick into the corners and then let go it omits a popping noise which it doesn't do if you just move up, down, left or right. Only diagonal. Definitely not a click though.
I used to shoot on a GH5 and then moved onto the S1H! Seeing the Lumix S5ii makes me curious since it's so smaller than the S1H. Excited to see what you do in the new year! By the way I make short films, I recently filmed one about an aspiring musician and filmmaker in Barcelona, I would really appreciate it if you checked it out Lyndon:)
Hobby shooting has its perks. Acceptance of emotional, impulse selling and buying camera gear being one of them.

Neither of mine make popping sounds. That is definitely odd. Is it popping on click down or when pushing a direction?

That sounds awesome and ya the GH5 was my gateway drug too. S1H is an awesome camera and I wish I got to try one. Ya I'll check out your stuff!
@@lyndonlabayanthank you!
how you can think about gh6 ot g9-2 after getting s5II . so big difference between them . S5-2 is the best for the money now , even < 3500$

Hey Lyndon! I’ve got an idea (well honestly a few ideas) that might warrant a quick collaboration! Let me know if you’d be interested.
