Another idea for the crusts is to shake them in a bag with a little oil and seasoning, and bake them for 10 minutes to make crusty fingers that are great with soup or dips. I always separate and label the vegetarian options too 😁
I like the idea of putting the spreads in the plastic bags! Instead of slicing the cucumber in rounds, I cut the cucumber up in the width of the bread and then slice the piece on the mandolin. You only need two slices of the cucumber on the bread and it isn’t as likely to “squash” as it is when sliced in rounds.
while I have seldom had to make many sandwiches at once, your method is so organized and very creative! I have learned some great tips to present sandwiches that look appealing - thank you for taking the time to share your experience and talents with us.
I love your videos. I incorporated some of your techniques while working in the deli department at my local store. Now, my boss only wants me to make the deli trays! 😂 Thank you for teaching your craft. ❤
That is awesome! So happy to hear this. A few people find it hard to get their head around a new technique, but if they'll only try it and prove it for themselves like you have 😄
I lived off sandwiches all my life. When I was young, others made them beautifully like you do. Later on mine were more for eating on the run. I love your attention to detail & explanation. Being a vegan hope I get to see some exotic sandwiches with mushrooms, fritters & chili spreads. I love your accent. ❤❤
I always get delegated sandwich duty and l usually dread the 'chore'...but now can't wait until l am asked again...😮 This is amazing, so clever.. Thank you...!!!
I too, have made many sandwiches over the years. My mother did catering, so I learned by a master. Much off what you have shown I agree with and know the tips. Our sandwiches are well received, which gives me so much pleasure. Some different fillings I do too.
I love these videos , I am learning so many new ideas . I think that you can use your own tweaks to make it your own. I prefer to use butter on my sandwiches and I use an egg slicer and finish off the egg with a fork . It works for me. I especially love the idea for cutting round sandwiches.
This is my first time visiting your channel and I must say I’ve learned a lot this video was so informative I love it ❤👍🏾these recipes are perfect for a spring picnic 🧺
I helped Mother with party sandwiches. She threw a lot of large cocktail parties. We cut the bread first. Take a whole loaf and use an electric knife. Cut the edges off very quickly, all at once. We use the crusts for breadcrumbs in other dishes. They can be frozen and have no bits of mayo on them. I like that way much better.
You can cut the bread first, but it does mean you'll have bits of lettuce and meat sticking out the edges... there's no right or wrong way though, make them whichever way works best for you... it's all about having fun 😉
Thank you so much. You really make elegance very easy to achieve as well as making these beautiful foods not only looking beautiful but keeping texture and taste palatable. I appreciate everything being shown very clearly and effectively. Everything looks appealing. And the way that you speak really helps me to understand the process. Thank you very much
That was fun and informative to watch! I want to make up a picnic basket soon to take to the beach and this was good inspiration. My daughter just got Covid again so it’ll have to wait until she’s well. Thanks, I just discovered you today.
I'm a beginner so I would probably stick to very simple ingredients, but all the tips in this video are charming and quite motivating! I can't wait to have these at picnics and while entertaining friends 🥰😊
Love how these look… dying to taste them all!! Wondering if anyone has used the tiny pretzel sticks as skewers? I like those because they can be eaten or discarded. Less of a hassle for children an teachers at a school function or people who don’t know what to do with more decorative skewers after they’re finished eating.
Thanks for your comment, that's an interesting point using an edible skewer. My only thoughts would be that the pretzel stick may go soggy if it was done too long in advance and it might not be strong enough to pierce through something like salami. I guess you could stick in a skewer to make the hole and then pull it out and replace it with a pretzel stick. If you try this let me know how it went ☺️
I am very particular about how to make my sandwiches. Very impressed with your technique of putting condiments in a piping bag. The plating was lovely.
Thank you Tarryn. I make sandwiches for lunch for my family every morning to take to work. Lots. Thank you for so many helpful hints that i am going to use. Your kindness shines through all you do. God bless you. Can i ask which country you from?
Thank you! I'll try this for my faughter's baby shower! I will make the sandwiches one day in advance and keep themin the fridge. If the event is at noon, when should I take them out of the fridge (if they've been overnight in the fridge). Thank you
What a perfect occasion for some beautiful sandwiches. You can take them out around say 10am (or earlier if you need to) and cut them. Then lightly rewrap and put them back in the fridge if it's more than 30mins before serving. If it's less than 30mins they should be fine to stay out, just keep a loose wrap over until you're ready to eat them to stop them drying out. Hope you have a fantastic baby shower celebration for your daughter 😊
Thank you very much for the time and efforts you put in this video. And money too as these ingredients ain’t cheap. I thoroughly enjoyed your presentation and learned a lot of new ideas how to make tasty and good looking sandwiches from the video. Cheers.
She mentioned about not tasting the flavour and the time, but I too am wondering about the waterproofing part. Will the mayo/dijonaise have the same properties?
PLEASE! Purchase a boiled egg cutter: looks like a wire stringed harp and is attached to a top that pushes the egg thru the wire strings. $1.99 in 🇨🇦. Thank you demonstrating ingredients and finished look of interesting sandwiches.

Why not butter the bread ,its the perfect thing to waterproof the bread from the filling.
She answered your question in the video.
See time stamp 11:16
Yeah it’s literally foreshadowed in the intro if you took two seconds to pay attention.
She mentioned about not tasting the flavour and the time, but I too am wondering about the waterproofing part. Will the mayo/dijonaise have the same properties?
