Caterers' tricks: A *very* thin layer of unsalted butter applied to each slice of bread doesn't affect taste or texture, but it provides a barrier that protects the bread from moisture if you make the sandwiches ahead of time. For children's parties, baby showers, theme parties, etc. large cookie cutters make cute sandwiches. Bon Appétit!
I also always add tomato and it never goes soggy. I cut them thinly and salt them….they leak out a lot of their water that way, then I never have them touching the bread….and the bonus is that I can dip my toast in all that delicious salty tomato juice!

Omg... You just killed it.. I always wanted to know how it would turn out so beautifully. Now the secret is out. Thank you.. I m vegetarian so I won't use any of the meat ingredients if you can make another vegan sandwich that will help me a lot thank you for much... 💕💕💕
So happy you've learnt the secret. You can replace the meat with avocado, boiled eggs (vegetarian, but not vegan), asparagus, capsicum etc and it'll still be a delicious sandwich.

I'm a Kiwi living in Hawai'i and whenever I hear that accent my ears prick up! Sometimes I don't feel like the gigantic sandwiches Americans enjoy. My jaw isn't that flexible! So, the only thing to do is make them myself. Kia ora, good job.

An excellent video and great information. I too had the soggy tomato problem, but I solved it by using small cherry tomatoes on the cocktail skewers with a tiny splash of green (lettuce, chives, dill or basil)

The best advice I can give is don't let them sweat. When a grilled sandwich sweats it looses it's crispy texture.
