Rode my dad's 9mile new one today, as only running in could only go to 7.5k rpm. But jumping off my v4 factory tuono. It immediately felt light and fickable. Motor starts to come alive at around 6k rpm. Very comfortable, and the handling is flattering! Like a flying carpet! I will report back once I try it run in next week! Also he got the deal with free imu, so lean abs, quick shifter, the lot on his.

I really like this bike, I demo'd it a while back. I need to have a go on the RS as well to compare, but my major concern is all the recalls currently, with bikes needing new engines.

Solid, to the point review. It's a great looking bike with some good features but I wouldn't personally spend that much money on a bike in this segment.

As a beginner rider I always look at the posture and technique of more experienced riders to learn from them.
With this pilot I dont get how he is positioning himself on the bike.
Have a look at 5:00 or 0:22 - for me it seems as if his lower half and his upper half did contrary things: As if his bottom would lean into the corner and his torso worked against it for to counterlean. As if he would mix a leaning and a counterleaning driving style. At 5:00 it looks particularly off balance, to me.
Can someone explain this to me? Am I getting it wrong or is he using a very special technique that's mabye just not advisable for me to learn?

yep, he's a good picture for a track training course..
      The before picture.
I suspect him trying to speak and explain what he feels on the bike makes it way more difficult to concentrate on the details.. But indeed, some body positions are bad.

The competition for this bike isn't the ones you mention, this is an A2 compliant bike so you really need to compare it to a cb650r...
But if you compare it price wise then ye it isnt a match for the ones u mention.

Lovely bike… but the price is downright silly! Add the IMU and quick shifter and it is the same price as a Ducati Monster… which will give the Tuono 660 a wedgie and steal its lunch money without breaking a sweat.

I don't think the winglets are cosmetic, I think they are intended for stability during highway riding speeds, here in the states, that can get you over 80 pretty easily, and in some places 80 is the highway speed limit.

I've had mine for a month now and confim that it is a brilliant road bike! In Paris, there was a special offer and cornering ABS was included. I don't feel the need for a quick shifter as the gearbox is silky smooth, other than for finding neutral at times. As you say, it's not the fastest bike on the road but the handling is great and all the power is usable, especially since the whole of Paris will become a 30km/h zone as of August🤣😥

The MT-09 has mediocre suspension and brakes for how much power it carries, and eats gas like crazy despite having a fairly small tank for the size. It's still extremely good for the money, and a total blast to ride, but different people have different priorities when looking at bikes.

    • @superstarsfastcars
      @superstarsfastcars 2 года назад

@@ProudFilthyCasual yes I agree, I bought one. I think the only problem is that in the USA Aprilia dealerships are not common. So if you do have an issue there may not be a dealership or certified repair center for the warranty near you. And also some parts are scarce or on back order having to be shipped from Italy. So this could cause a longer wait time for any repairs.

Hi. So u'd stress an already stressed r2 even more and makin it even more unreliable... it is with it's 11.5 redline and 13.5:1 compression ratio not an old 600 r4. I guess to reach that 120 u'd need to get the 659cc up to like 850cc.

100bhp is plenty for the road. With shifter and blipper on the rs it makes it great fun and far less intimidating. Plus you'll piss all over litre superbikes on the UK roads on them if you don't just fly down motorways.
