190 miles on a tank every time. Riding fast in the twisties in Eifel Germany. Take your time while fuelling it and the last liter really slow until completely full. When done carelessly and too hastily there is only 14 liters in it. I do 1 liter on every 20km easy. 300km tank range is perfect for me. Mind you I have the standard tuono 660. Not the factory. Gearing is different I guess?
I have the same issue getting mine into neutral! You need to put it there before coming to a complete stop, or it just won't have it. Adds to the character 😀
I have the feeling, that it gets better with some more km/miles and some more shifting... when I picked my new bike up, it was nearly impossible to find neutral 😂, but now it's getting better 👍🏻. However, this Tuono 660 Factory is such a nice and well balanced bike ❤
It's fairly comfortable and upright so for a newbie should be a doddle to ride. Has different modes meaning you could leave it in the most tame setting whilst you learn it and get seat time and experience. For 8k it's a bloody bargain!
@@ILikeMotorbikes the other 2 have had plenty of modifications..the 660 is untouched not even a tail tidy! I think that says it all.. it's perfect, and my mates aren't fed up of me saying I need fuel every hour! So everyone is happy 👍😂
Hey, could a beginner handle this bike? I'm really considering on getting it over the Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 for my first bike but it's like 60/40 to Vitpilen 401... The more I watch videos of it the more i want it haha what are your thoughts??
That's really subjective. It's fairly user friendly in the control positions, riding position etc but it's still a 100hp bike and it's easy to make mistakes as a newbie (we've all been there) It has configurable riding modes and ABS/traction control so you'd be able to "calm it down" slightly in the electronics to a degree but that won't save you for everything. I'd say get the bike, but also invest in your self in additional training once you gain your licence t give you the best opportunity of staying safe and enjoying an awesome bike
It's kind of in between those you listed and the next level up (ie MT-09). In a lot of ways, it comes out as the expensive but overall best if you put it in the MT-07 category. But as a middle-of-the-range bike if you put it in the MT-09 category.
Not really man, Duke 790, Suzuki GSX8S, that's about it as far as I am concerned. Check it out, most of those are severely down on power or the electronics package, QS and auto blip, etc., etc. I don't fault the choices you suggested if price is a big factor.
@@msromike123 yeah no, those bikes are over 100cc more. Direct comp is the mt07 and even that is bigger. Its the best in its class by far. Other manufacturers make bigger engines to cope.
I think they get a lot of bad press but generally the reliability doesn't seem to be as big an issue as it used to be. Certainly now the 660 platform has been around a few years I would say they have probably ironed out most of the problems
Most probably this is why all Moto GP riders use electronics... Yo can switch it off if you think you can handle this Italian lady without electronic Viagra.
Which middleweight would you choose? Would it be the Tuono? Or something else?
I'm not a huge fan of parallel twins so it's gotta be the Ducati Streetfighter 848 or even an Aprillia Shiver 750/900. Italy do it well don't they!
@@MrB1obby All very different beast I think but agree, Italy do provide some good choices!
Shiver its a loot slower and more heavy😎
This or a Duke 790.

200 miles on the tank✊🔥
Fantastic review thanks
Cheers! Glad you liked it

That is the exact technique I used on this and my older Aprilia RSVR! Works a charm then... character indeed 🤣

Would you recommend this as a good first bike coming out of a DAS. The price for a brand new one atm (as low as 8k) makes it hard to beat.

Well I bought one .. goes nicely with my V4 and old SL 1000... yep I love Aprilia 🍻
Awesome! How do you like the 660 compared to the others?

@@christophergray42 haha that does speak volumes! Glad it works out for you so well, hope you have many more happy miles on it
I'm averaging 160 miles per tank on mine
Awesome! You've got much more throttle control than I had then 😅
Finding the neutral... 😮I thought it was just happening to me
All Aprilia owners for the last 2 decades or so
Just had a test ride on this and found neutral numerous times with no problems at all. Maybe try doing it properly.
Fuel range scuppers this bike as a viable option should have 17lts as standard.
I agree, just 1 or 2 more litre capacity would change the bikes appeal massively in my opinion

Duke 390 perfect beginner✊🔥
2024 Aprilia 457 for beginner
How tall are you and how much do you weight with gear ?
Around 177cm and around 95-100kg with gear
120 mile range? It should return about 5l/100k.... Where you trailering a boat?
Just lots of play time opening the throttle!
again this bike competes with mt07, kawisaki z650, trident 660, cb650r, sv650 and 701 hvitpilen.
In my opinion it's far better than almost all of those though I haven't ridden a couple of them

I would aim for this bike but terrible reliability user reports scare me off

I am 6"2. Will I fit in it nicely? What do you think?
I have the same question.
He said duke 890r was cheaper yea right 😂
At time of filming I'm sure the Duke was cheaper but now I see the list is slightly more than the 660 factory. Oops!
Also KTM are about as reliable as the Daily Express forecasting a white Christmas.
Too much electronics and not enough man-control.
you can swith it off
All electronics can be switched off but I found most of it useful
Most probably this is why all Moto GP riders use electronics...

Couldn’t tell if it was meant to be a bike or a Gucci handbag for the mrs .
Do you think? What makes you say that? I loved riding it
@@yashchirka4060 Agree its a mega bike!
