When I hear a mustang gt something or other rumble up to me and the moves slowly but loudly, it sounds like it is struggling. It must be frustrating. The model y silently does it’s job

Can app run in background and still work?
It depends. It disconnects when you open the camera/video app or if a call comes in. I just bought one and tried it. Some of the sounds are cool, but this thing is definitely not worth the $500- $600 + subscription fee =(
This should be priced closer to $200 -$300 with no subscription fee and full access. In my honest and humble opinion, there are better solutions in the market than this speaker.
Need to be able to mount a weatherproof external speaker also.

Sorry Gjeebs but that sounded really bad. I'm not against EV's making noise but this system sounds like crap. Putting a boom box in the frunk is not the answer. Keep it simple have a app linked into the car with different engine sounds like a ring tone on the phone. Pipe through the stereo as back ground noise while listening to music. The sound of the engine should be paired to the throttle pedal. If you get on the car the engine roars and shifts gears as you nail it. These engine recordings of different brands should be down loadable for a fee like a play list.

I was trying to explain one for driving to my wife on our new Model Y. I explained one foot driving by saying you just lift off the pedal and the car stops, presto. She said, the brake pedal? I said no, the gas pedal. She said, what gas? We both laughed.
One of the many advantages of an EV is that it's quiet. In cities, noise pollution goes hand in hand with air pollution. Deliberately making a car noisier than it has to be is something a dumbass teenager would do. Very disappointed.
You have always been one of my favorite RUclipsrs but here lately all of your videos are advertisements. I miss how normal, laid back, true, and funny you used to be. But just like every other RUclipsr who starts doing really well you have become a sellout. Breaks my heart.
