I tried the iPing app and learned I had a slight arc putting stroke. I used that information to search for my next putter. I was looking for a higher MOI putter as well. As a result of this I purchased an Evnroll ER7. I am extremely happy with the putter. I combined this with a putting lesson from a local pro. The first round I played after the lesson was my best putting round of golf ever!
Love to hear this!
I got fit for a putter @2nd Swing in Delaware. Finally got a chance to practice with it I’m so much closer to the hole on 15’and 25’. And I’m so much more confident on the 4’-10’ puts. So happy I decided to do the fitting, I was currently using a balanced putter, in which I missed right a lot. I found I had a slight arch. I was given a slight toe heavy putter and I’m likely to sink more of my closer puts now.
I swore I was a SBST putter type. Last year I picked up a face balanced Odyssey Versa 7 and could never quite get it dialed in. Got fit this year, and found out I am “slight arc” And ordered a O works 7S with a slight toe hang, extended to 35.5” , and lie was bent 1 up from standard. My putting has transformed after this, and I’m much more confident with my putting game. Doesn’t feel like I’m fighting the swing any more like I used to with full toe hang or face balanced putter.
Really good info there. The best explanation I've heard describing difference between the three types
Great video guys. Fitting is a must.👍🏌⛳🇺🇸😀
I think the disconnect with fitting comes down to price a lot of the time. I wonder what percentage of people ever buy a putter at full market RRP. I am all for putter or any fitting but I think it's the fear of being fit for something that you have no idea what the price might be at the end, and then having an awkward conversation at the end of the fitting when you dont really want to really spring for the $300 for the one that worked best.
Totally agree with you.
Great video! So much good info about putters.
Great video guys two things I'd like to know....
1:- Did Harry get a new putter and which one did he get or did he keep his old one?
2:- Am I right in thinking if you have a putter fitting and you get the specification for a putter that fits you, can you then use this specification to source the putter from any brand or the second hand market?
Good video I enjoyed that. Glad that it was a longer video you boys know your stuff
Lots of stuff coming down the pipeline. Just getting started!
I would appreciate your describing the terms that you use in putting-putters, example; arc, cog, etc and not only describe the term but the application
with much appreciation Tom Lawson Colombus Ohio, love your site-you tube interviews- comments teachings
I miss my putts left, right, short and long.. should I get fitted or take up another game?
Thank you for a great video..a ton of great info..thanks for the hlp
I got fitted for my putter and I've never missed a putt since and that's all I'd like to say about that.
Sh*t post at its finest. Bravo!
Hahaha
Ok Forrest gump
Good video. I'm still sceptical though whether anyone can truly have a straight back straight through stroke without manipulating the clubhead. 🤷🏻♂️
Much like @presatonwilliams6138 below I had always used a light, face balanced putter. Found that my stroke wasn't actually straight back and forward but did have an arc and I was pushing putts right. Went to an Odyssey putter with 45° tow hang. That still didn't help as now I was pulling putts left. Through a putter fitting I found that I actually needed a 60° tow hang to stop from closing the putter through the stroke and also much more weight. Never putted better. Glad I got fitted finally.
All of this presumes you have a fixed way of putting. I practice a lot with two very different putters, one face balanced and the other a strong arc putter. I can be equally accurate with either one. I just naturally make adjustments to my aim and strike point.
That was great. I am trying to find if you guys did any reviews on range finders. Is the bushnell prox2 worth the money or is the v4 shift do the job just as well. Help please
Glad you enjoyed the video! And yes we are just getting started on the 2018 Buyers Guide for Rangefinders ;)
Fitted!
Can adjustable weights change the balance enough to effect change in the balance? Like if I put a 25 gram weight in the toe, and a had a 10 gram weight in the heel, am I effectively creating a toe balanced putter?
GR JerryPK no it doesn’t change toe flow or hang.
@@alanburch8499 Yes it will, more or less depending on the putter type as the CG will change.
I understand that a putter with more toe hang with stay open during the follow through... But I'm confused about the backswing. Shouldn't the extra weight in the toe keep it from opening in the first place?
Could you send some information about your putting green?
So the iPing putter app is only available on Apple and I'm an Android guy. I hope ping will add it to the Android market soon so I can improve and find out what my stroke is. I played a few rounds with my local pro. Each time with a different putter (face Ballanced and varying degrees of toe hang) each time he says my stroke looks good. I would just like a definitive answer.
Very informative video. Thank you.
The cradle on PING's site ($15 including shipping) is only for the iPhone 6/6S. I've got the larger 6 Plus model iPhone. Short of building a cradle, does anyone know where I can get the proper PING cradle for my phone? Thanks in advance.
Blue tac works a treat
@@maryhenderson8715 duck tape!
I bought a cheep phone cover and a rubber shaft holder on Amazon. I cut a section of the rubber shaft holder and attached to to the phone cover with gorilla glue. It works like a charm on my putters.
What about getting fit for the proper length?
And lie, and alignment, and weight/swing weight. The “stroke type” part of a fitting is overrated in my opinion
Late to the party here...But can you change your putting arc to straight back/thru or vice versa like you can change your standard golf swing (path, takeaway, etc) ??
just go to Golf Galaxy or something and get a club fitter... better to have a processionals viewpoint then a buggy app. and even then u can buy the putter right there and then
I'm on android and am not finding the iping app. Any alternative?
Harry looks bummed
i understand that if you do strong arc, heel shafted face as soon you hit the ball face will tend to open,,is just the opposite of what you say,,,,it makes sense the resistance of the ball when u hit it, it will then to open the face for heel shafted putters,, i hear arounf 50 m% people say what you say,,,and somo other 50 % just the opposite....
Where are y'all located to come get fitted?
Is Ping still making the cradle for new devices?? Or do you have to get get an old iPhone or iPod?
You can make your own with a cheap phone cover and a section of rubber clamping material.
Where do you get the cradle?
can i come to you guys and get fitted and test if you need another tester?
Always looking for new testers ;)
Trying to be a SBST using a center shafted mallet. Why , I don’t know. What type of stroke is my putter? Most of my misses are left , feeling like a pull. Help.k
Most center-shafted putters are face-balanced. Since your misses are left, you might be helped by a slight or strong arc putter. Or it could be that the issue isn't your putter but, rather, you're simply setting up with the putter face pointing left of your intended line. It's complicated, which is why we're told to get properly fitted, though most of us don't.
Since I tend to miss right, I should look for a face balance putter?
MC CL correct.
How do I do this with a newer bigger phone. Seems like the cradle is going to be to small.
See above comments.
Wouldn't you need 90* lie angle for SBST stroke.
after watching this i my miss is left so i got me evnroll ER6 with just 12 degree toe hang to see if that fix my pull miss
What about center shafted putters?
I guess it's only available for iPhone because it's not on Google Play Store.... So No Android and Ping doesn't have the cradles on their site or even a bit of information on their North American site.
You need to have an ok putting stroke first
It’s that old Dave Pelz video where he teaches straight back. I knew it was an awful stroke for me.
I've had the same Ping putter for 30 years. I'm a bit suspicious about these fittings. The problem is the fitter has an incentive to sell putters. What are the odds he would say, "Well the putter you have is fine sir. Keep your wallet in you pocket."
Not Harry Adam say it ain’t so
Iping = slight Arc and SAm = slight Arc, nice but SAM also put me in Mallet
I say the same thing about auto parts store them people dont have a clue what they doing all they know what the BEAST [computer} says
So what about Toe up, Reverse balanced and lie balanced putters? Don't all the putters you show want to fan open when putting in a 70 degree plane?
Do y'all still use the iping as a fitting system.???
Yes-it's good for checking my tempo.
Think Ping got rid our their app
Thank you for subing me
Harry always seems to be hating life.

Length, lie are more important.
