as i’ve said on this channel before, last July i preordered a Jailbird 380 at 38 inches. At 5 ft 5 in. it was too long even choking down it was hitting me in the stomach. brought it to 2ndSwing in DE and my fitter Tom H. cut it down 2 inches and we added a 50g butt plug with a couple of wraps of lead tape so it fit snug. overall it’s heavy (total weight is about 690g) but it’s super stable. he had to deloft it from 3 deg to 2 deg , it did open the face slightly but not enough to notice any issues. very stable overall, best are long putts over 10-12 ft. i’ve had about a dozen putters over past 10 years, this one will be in my bag forever! love the feel and the stability. I can watch Larry all day long, super knowledgeable
I ordered a Ping Nome putter from your eden prairie store, the listing said it was average, honestly it looks like it's still new. Great job guys, wish there was a 2nd swing in Canada :)
Curiosity, if Drew has a 39inch but grips down to where 5 inches is above the hands, what is the advantages in that if you got the jailbird at 34-35 inches? Or is it supposed to pivot from the bellybutton?
The counterbalanced shaft is designed to add extra weight above your hands, and it provides so much more stability. Referring to what Larry mentioned in the video, it feels like the putter is guiding me to a good putting stroke much more than a standard putter. - Drew
I’ve been very consistent and confident with my Blade and I’ve never been fit. I’m curious what my numbers are. I believe that a majority of these numbers are just a confidence booster and putting is a confidence skill. Negative thinking is almost 100% effective. But draw spins and cut spin with a putter is pretty ridiculous.
They're similar for sure. Armlock putters are a little bit longer and, as you mention, have more loft to fit the armlock setup. But both are designed with added weight at the grip end for more stability

I agree the butt plugs really help close the hole. and adds solidity to the shaft

Does 2nd swing fit lab putters?
Are these basically just arm-lock putters with less loft?

You guys talk talk talk for 5 minutes and then I checked out. Uggg Lol 😂
😂
I haven't watched this yet but I cringed at the title..... I'm too much of a traditionalist.... no long putter or cross-handed putting allowed
😂😅 fair enough! With that said, Larry is as traditionalist as it gets...and he endorses trying a long putter if you're struggling! 😎 - Drew
That as arbitrary as, "I'm too much of a traditionalist - 8802 should be the only putter allowed." They're legal, people need to get over it.
@@2ndswing Deadly with my Ping My Day
@@TonyRotella I'd love an 8802 but as a lefty...... there are not many old ones around.
Head over to your local putt putt course, those aren't too far off the 8802. Best part, it doesn't matter if you're a righty or a lefty! :)
