Just switched to counterbalance and it’s the best thing that’s happened to my game. So much more confident and smoother

I actually just purchased a Spider GT after doing a lot of research into length among some other factors. I have mild cerebral palsy, and I find that a longer putter helps me with correct posture after years of swinging a blade (and honestly, forcing a lot of putts well off-line). Thank you for this video and others you've done on the Spiders! #legend

I put a weight in last year and has really helped on the 4 to 6 foot putts - can trust the strike and hit it straighter with more pace, if you are face balanced you gotta try it

Seems to have died at retail. Would like to see options come back. Retailers don’t know how to talk about it so they didn’t sell. It works, that DJ putter looks excellent here. Good video.

Problem is most longer grips are too light! You do need a heavy grip or a grip with that huge heavy weight that goes in the top

I was always told the counterbalance only works if you grip down on the longer putter. The counterweight has to be like an inch above your top hand roughly for it to achieve the "counter" to the weight of the putter head. You demonstrated a grip that was right at the top of the grip and standing up tall. Does that still work or does it defeat the purpose of the "counter" balance? For instance can I just take my 35" putter which I grip near the butt end and just add a weighted grip to it?

    • @trottiegolf
      @trottiegolf  Год назад

You can but you'll be swinging the weight therefore the grip. Ultimately this is gonna come down to personal preference & how you like to feel the release of the putter

Sup PLYR. I just tried to dig you out some links of old vids but you're right, everything I've done has involved equipment with a grip, opposed to the grip then the equipment.
I can add an overview of all methods to the list, maybe it's a fall thing or off season thing as I want everyone to be getting their flow going right now opposed to worrying about grip changes.
BUT I hear ya & a nice complete guide in one spot would be solid - thx for the request / suggestion.
In the short term search putter vids as I know I touch on a lot of that stuff in my equipment vids around putters

Obv #subscribe here 🤣, get connected with a manufacturer or if you don't want to work in it then just get close with a builder or a radar / launch monitor company.
Then depends what you wanna do?
      Fit Tour PLYR's
      Fit kids
      Amateurs
      Consumers
      Yourself?
      There's tons of options
Step 1 - launch monitor basics
Step 2 - some swing fundamentals (always helps)
Step 3 - product knowledge but that one evolves so stay on it
Step 4 - Your style and genre
Step 5 - Make it fun (depending on 4's answer, as tour isn't always fun 🤣)
Step 6 - The PLYR can always overrule
There's a good start, now hopefully I see ya down the track

LACC member and the USGA made the 2023 US Open the WORST in the champions history. LACC should NEVER EVER be given any tour. The "average golf" got the short end of the stick; the tee times sucked...feel back for those across the pond.
