I actually just purchased a Spider GT after doing a lot of research into length among some other factors. I have mild cerebral palsy, and I find that a longer putter helps me with correct posture after years of swinging a blade (and honestly, forcing a lot of putts well off-line). Thank you for this video and others you've done on the Spiders! #legend
I put a weight in last year and has really helped on the 4 to 6 foot putts - can trust the strike and hit it straighter with more pace, if you are face balanced you gotta try it
Seems to have died at retail. Would like to see options come back. Retailers don’t know how to talk about it so they didn’t sell. It works, that DJ putter looks excellent here. Good video.
As a lefty we just have to take the one dusty blade at the back of the store and learn to use it....... Those huge grips are a pig to fit and remove too...
I was always told the counterbalance only works if you grip down on the longer putter. The counterweight has to be like an inch above your top hand roughly for it to achieve the "counter" to the weight of the putter head. You demonstrated a grip that was right at the top of the grip and standing up tall. Does that still work or does it defeat the purpose of the "counter" balance? For instance can I just take my 35" putter which I grip near the butt end and just add a weighted grip to it?
You can but you'll be swinging the weight therefore the grip. Ultimately this is gonna come down to personal preference & how you like to feel the release of the putter

Sup PLYR. I just tried to dig you out some links of old vids but you're right, everything I've done has involved equipment with a grip, opposed to the grip then the equipment. I can add an overview of all methods to the list, maybe it's a fall thing or off season thing as I want everyone to be getting their flow going right now opposed to worrying about grip changes. @@trottiegolf I checked TM customization page, and they don't offer heavy shaft and GTX head that goes to 380g(I assume interchangeable weights could do the trick)...Anyway I bet it would be a big demand at TM, since that GTX head seems popular. Let us retail ppl know if they have plans to offer
Golfworks sells counter balance weights. You need to drill the proper size hole in the end of the grip first. What is a good SW for a putter to help keep our hands and wrists quiet?
Since watching Trottie, I have changed my dream foursome to play a round with……it would be Trottie, Tyrrell Hatton, Sabrina Andolfo, and myself. I’m an obviously sick man!

Just switched to counterbalance and it’s the best thing that’s happened to my game. So much more confident and smoother
Love that, which head?

Looking very smart Trottie
Excellent video.
Problem is most longer grips are too light! You do need a heavy grip or a grip with that huge heavy weight that goes in the top

I putt exceptionally well with my 35" Scotty Cameron Futura X with a 50 gram counter balance in my Super Stroke grip.

For putter grips it’s actually superstroke
For club grips it’s golf pride

If your using the longer grip how long should the putter be ?
it can be standard if you're cool with taking weight away from the head in terms of balance point
