Jailbird mini with a bi matrix shaft. I ilke the look and feel of the lighter shaft. It is an upcharge but I got my vets discount so the price after tax came out to about the same as it would with the steel shaft. Had it for about a month now and I am pleased with it. As I noted below I got a 34.5 inch shaft and added a 3 inch extension to it and installed a 17 inch superstroke zernergy 1.0P 17 inch grip on it.. so it is a bit shorter than those. But still has that feel of a longer shaft. I did take out the counter weight since the grip adds about that same weight.
I have an old Ping Anser, a Scotty Cameron Newport, and a Taylormade Spider. The Jailbird putter I put in play a month ago is a game changer, especially on seven footers.
Been looking for a new putter for a couple years. I was in my local pro shop last week and tested out a Spider, Ping prime tyne and the Jailbird. After a couple hrs on the putting green i decided on the Jailbird. Went out the next day and was super stoked! Only 3 putt twice and they were from about 60ft away. Love the design, feel and of course.... that head cover is awesome.
Although I didn’t need a putter, I Bought the 38” Jailbird Cruiser last week after being impressed with its swing in a golf store. Without any prior practice, I put it in my bag and made 9 one putts varying from 3 feet to 25 feet in a 27 putt round. Perhaps the best putting round on a good course that I’ve had. Go figure…..
I went from a blade for years to the Jail bird mini and instantly started pouring in more putts the last three months i've had it.. Those putters are money
I think for the money it has to be worth a shout. I was going to get a lab but i prefer a more conventional look and at half the price these are very appealing
I was fitted for the Oddessy AI Jailbird Mini standard weights (15g) really good for putting with Titleist pro v 1, however i found when using softer compression balls, i found i had to give the putter more purge, i ended up changing the weights to (30g) to compensate... Great videos, cheers...Derek...
I'm in the market for a putter. I've never bought a putter for myself, all hand me downs. I think the jailbird would be a nice fit for me and I like the look and your recommendation is encouraging. Thumbs up mate!
I have an O Works Odyssey with same shaft length with 13.5 inch super stroke with 30 gm weight at end. Love it. It's looks just like the new one. Will ck out the new one if they ever get them stock...lol
i like the mass of the mallet style putter. I think my next putter is going to be the seven AI crusier, but I do not think I would have any problem with the AI Jailbird either
The jailbrid is what I am leaning towards based off I'm currently using a blade mizuno omoi number 2 and looking to try a mallet style and the color way does look great
Best putter ever the mini is awesome! I am still waiting on a lefty Version. Of the mini! As soon as they make one I will buy it! Just freaking awesome! I even use my righty friends mini! It is so good! I am waiting!
Alex can you speak to the differences of these model putters and how they compare to the new zero putters of Odeyseys? I personally looking at getting the new zero blade. Thanks in advance !
I got the jailbird mini with the bimatrix shaft. I recently added about 3 inches to it and installed a 17 inch grip on it.. smaller head and a bit shorter shaft than the ones he has here. I did not want the huge head on mine. The AI system has worked for me. A lot of putts that I thought were going to be short rolled into the hole. One thing I noticed, on long putts when you hit it harder you can feel the aluminum backing to the soft insert. That took some getting used to. Putter worked great in the 34.5 inch length but I wanted to try it longer which I do from time to time. Jury is kind of out right now since both courses I play have punched and sanded their greens. I am making putts but I just have to hit them harder. I like how the jailbird lines allow you to really line up the ball and you know if you have it aligned correcting just looking at the white behind the blue on the head. So to sum up, i am totally satisfied with mine. I went from a 7 OG to this one.
It’s not hard at all. I’ve always hated big mallet putters. I’ve gamed blades my whole life. I switched to the jailbird cruiser 38 and there was no break in time needed. Immediately started pouring in putts. Lag putts took 2-3 sessions to really get the distance dialled but that’s not length that was just getting use to the weight of the putter
I still have one of the original Odyssey putters. It works well when I use good technique and don’t second-guess the line. I’d save more strokes with $400 in lessons (and more range time) than a new putter. They are pretty tempting, though. 😂
I tried this with alongside scotty Cameron phantom and square back , loved the Scottie’s could not get on with this at all. Which actually annoyed me as I really wanted the odyssey
Hi Alex old buddy I really really like the jailbird ,also Alex if I use a 35 inch putter what length would you suggest for the cruiser models, thanks Alex love the vids.
I am looking for a new putter, what's the difference between the jailbird and the jailbird mini? I think the jailbird would be better than the AI one or seven since it helps you a bit more to square the face.
I gamed the versa 7 white hot for the longest time and enjoyed it. Moved on to a spider GTX and putt better than with the versa. Moved on from that to the LAB df 2.1. Blew the other putters away. Will never go back to anything that isn't LAB. Regular putters don't even feel the same anymore. It won't be long until the technology is copied. However to be fair, the jailbird is a good looking putter. I like the color scheme
"That ANCHORED feeling." Yes, there is a trick to get that feeling of stability from your current, favorite putter. 1. Remove grip and top cap/tape from shaft. 2. Using a funnel and regular table salt, fill the putter shaft with salt. Tap the head gently on the ground, allowing for complete settling of the salt. (Typically 1" or less) Add more salt, completely filling the shaft after tapping. 3. Careful drip 3 drops of water onto the salt. There will be a very small amount of space created, refill with salt and repeat. 4. Add grip tape, properly positioned using the tab or tail to cap the putter shaft. Install grip. Wait 1 hour for all liquids to dry. (Weather conditions effect drying time) 5. Give that a try. It is an identical feel to these new Odyssey putters, going back to the Stroke Lab. You WOULD NOT BELIEVE where I learned this little putting hack, why it was invented, and how it was once the most protected secret on the world's biggest professional tours.
I like the traditional putter I feel that there is too much behind the putters in the other two and that they would take away my concentration as I would feel like I am looking more at the back part of the putter rather than trying to hit the ball into the hole.
Personally, I have a semi-severe OCD trait, and so even the littlest things can largely impact how I feel about a putter, both positively and negatively. Dots as opposed to lines, certain colors, etc have always had a significant impact on how I visualize my putter, which in turns affects how I feel about it in general. And anything I can do to help offset unnecessary movement helps me a lot. So as I have been in need of a new putter, seeing the specs, technology, and features of these new AI-One putters really intrigued me. After spending some considerable time at my local golf shop, I eventually found my way over to the putter section. I immediately found the counterweight feature from having a bit of weight and shaft height above where I naturally placed my hands, helping me to keep the putter in a more even and balanced stroke. I didn't have to push the putter head like I used to. I almost likened it to a pendulum, evenly swinging from one side to the other. And after trying all three, for me the #7 was the one I went home with. Going back to my OCD nature, I really appreciated not only the center line, but also the two lines on either side of the center line, as it really helped me to align the direction I wanted it to go. Although the jailbird seems to be all the rage lately, the very bold and distinctive stripes just became a bit overwhelming for me visually. The thinner lines of the #7 better helped me to see if I'm mis-aligned just a little, while the broader jailbird stripes were too thick to know if I had it a bit mis-aligned. And visually, those thick stripes were just too overwhelming for me and ultimately a bit distracting. It separated my focus a bit from wanting to make sure I struck the ball well, and where my ball was lined up related to the putter face. The #7 was just right for me, had just the right amount of everything, and a cool feature I didn't notice until after I got home was that the gap between the two protruding sections is the exact measurement of a golf ball, so I could turn my putter around backwards and scoop up a golf ball from the ground since it just rolls right into that open section and stays there. Well worth the money in my opinion. Putters are the club you use the most, and basically every hole. Invest in a good putter and you'll be happy you did. Lastly, the technology of these AI-One putters really are amazing. I found that nearly anywhere on the putter face I hit the ball, whether on the toe a bit or the heel, it was able to keep the ball rolling at nearly the same equivalent speed had I struck the ball clean in the middle of the face. I've honestly yet to use another putter that was made as well, with such beneficial technology. They really hit a home run with these Cruisers 👌🏼
After years of ripping off john reuter and karsten solheim, scotty finally gets his comeuppance as odyssey (and evnroll, and taylormade, etc.) rips off his answer mod, the newport squareback. As an aside, SC has been doing counterbalance long grips paired with a semi-mallet for several years. Not sure why he talks about that one as such a departure.
Jailbird putter cover is horrendous, binned mine immediately, bought a few decent ones from Jina, (as the sex offending, convicted felon calls it), marked improvement.
*Would you game one? Did you notice this just like I did?*
Nothing right not gets the LAB DF3 out my hands

I like the looks of the #7 best. Great video to help us consider things if looking for a new putter

Put the Jailbird into play a month ago......game changer, putter is always on line, short/long putts are still up to the operator.

Just purchased the No7. Here's hoping for the best
i like the mass of the mallet style putter. I think my next putter is going to be the seven AI crusier, but I do not think I would have any problem with the AI Jailbird either
The Ai Jailbird looks very nice. It would be one to try when looking for a new putter.
Jailbird definitely for me love the zebra looks helps square the face up . Awesome 👌

Thanks for the info, i have never bought a high dollar putter, have a clevland hungington beach now.
i have your 2nd favorite its money for me!! saves me alot of strokes best money ive spent!
I've always used a blade, but I do like the Jailbird
Always watch your club testing.would love to tryout the jailbird
Appreciate it and yes great idea
I’ve been a 2 ball guy for years but ooo that #7 🥰
I think the jailbird would be my choice but I think it might be a little hard to get used to the length.

@@scottwhitlock9201 I have TM spider tour S S7 CB 35 inch counter balance has a 13 inch grip .

Genuine and honest answer- odessy ai one or a spider? Narrowed it down and just can't decide
I think 70% of golfers this year are having that same internal battle between the spider and jailbird haha
Love the Jailbird!!
I prefer the Jailbird, but I've had a Exo Seven I loved. I'd use any and just wish the double wide had a slant neck
Jailbird looks like the one for me. 🔥
I tried this with alongside scotty Cameron phantom and square back , loved the Scottie’s could not get on with this at all. Which actually annoyed me as I really wanted the odyssey
I went jailbird mini to lab df3 custom so much more consistent and solid feel from df3
My #7 rocks. Great putter
the jailbird is just the best hands down imo
I like the Jailbird as well, but I feel the dots might not be enough for me
Hi Alex old buddy I really really like the jailbird ,also Alex if I use a 35 inch putter what length would you suggest for the cruiser models, thanks Alex love the vids.

I'd love the jailbird
Have the 2 ball ai. Love it

I need a new putter. I love the look of the Seven putter. I prefer a heavier putter.
This line is my favorite line and I’m a complete equipment snob with no real budget
Love my marksman TT.

I like all 3!

Are they face balanced?
What’s the thing that no one notices with the putters?
I’m not letting go of my Odyssey Stroke Lab Ten S anytime soon.
I am using the AI Seven putter. I love it. Yes my Seven putter is heavier. Yes I’ve made more putts too

jailbird model 38" worked best for me - please ;)
Sure wished they came in a centre shafted model. 🤔
Ask Steve Stricker what he thinks of the Jailbird.
I guess I’m a dinosaur but I still have my Odyssey White Hot 2-Ball in my golf bag.
The Number 7 is my favourite to look at.

I gave my jailbird to my daughter she won’t give it back 😂dammit!
