Lovely car! Remember it from Jamie’s channel and it was a handful then on the 2.0R motor, let alone the rs3 engine
and the power it’s got now. There’s a few others out there who’ve done it but i they seem to be hidden away most the time or used as development cars for the swap. I think once prices come down of the daza engines let alone the older code ones then we will see more of these swaps but if I’m right it’s still £5k/£6k min for a cepa csta 2.5tfsi and then the daza 2.5tfsi is anywhere £10k to £15k (at least the ones I’m watching to buy on eBay are £12k daza low 20k mile from running car rear end right off.)

(just had my £10k offer declined for the £12k priced daza, guy wants £11.5k min…. 😅 I can hold out a few more months I think 🤔 my brother is saying we just buy a unknown mileage cepa older code bare engine for £3k and build it but plan was to run on stock daza in and out swap, run car for a few months on that then take it off the road again and build the engine etc..)
Merry christmas mate, DAZA engine is stronger so if you want to swap and forget about it then worth doing that, not had any experience with the older one but theres a reason people use the daza despite the price difference.

How long does a build like this take and cost from start to finish?
I think it’s been around 3 years since it had a 2.0 in it, can’t comment on cost though as its been 90% done in our garage, apart from mapping, engine forging and geometry work.

@@nomessininc. im building Audi S3 8L 1.8T stroker with 4x4 Gen1 haldex, about 500hp, and im still in dilema should i buy wavetrack, or SQS plate diff ? I will be using the car only for hillclimb racing.... I appreciate your suggestion mate
@@burns985 probably plated diff, just has to he serviced every 30k miles iirc. But difference in grip is unreal
