If you've never driven one, it's absolutely worth the shot. I've been a vw nerd for years and just got myself an R in 2020. Just a tune and a clutch and I'm at about 400hp lol, 0-60 in 3.8-4.2 seconds with a manual too. If you get a dsg, they're even quicker lol

There was a factory Mk7 Golf R prototype with an inline five, but never came into fruition
This is such a rad build. Very well done Tommy appreciate you didn't build it but you brought it to the tube so Tommy fyeah wins the automotive tube award 2022
These things love a little caster and camber, verkline front lower arms and their rear toe/camber arm package will help you dial it in, 18s and some sticky 235/40s or 255/35s for track and it will be a machine. bigger rear roll bar will reduce some understeer too
When I saw the rear seats then the muffler incorporated I was so impressed. What a cool conversion, great job.

The best sounding engine they have I always wanted this swapped into either an s4 or some kind of coupe/awd vehicle that taller guys or wider guys can fit and this seems perfect. Grats on the build hope you enjoy it.

This thing is fantastic, love the OEM+ look and feel of it all and how well the Audi parts just fit in the Golf R is so sick. Cant wait to see this thing with the new suspension and wheels/tires , I want to see the difference it makes with the grip, I bet you get a better feel for the speed even tho it will still feel smooth
What I love about vw and Audi, so much can be shared from car to car. My engine shares the same engine mounts except a little difference on the engine side mount. Love it. Can't wait to build my engine and turbo it...
I build the Audi 5.2 V10 platform which is basically two of these in a V, it’s absolutely wild how the newer Audi platform performs with boost. We make 1400whp on 16-17lbs of boost on stock engines which used to be impossible on any other platform. Would love to get into the 5 cylinder game also.

This is so fucking badass. I think it’s awesome that the rs3 drivetrain and shit can be swapped into a golf r and just look so clean and oem. It doesn’t even look swapped and the wheels don’t look out of place either. The fact there are no annoying codes or anything like that which would hinder performance or anything make it so cool.
Props to the innovative dude and his shop on this. It’s not the most insane car power wise, but how it’s executed is amazing. I would love a daza swapped r.

I know what you mean about the sense of speed in the golf ive been in some high power monsters but they feel smooth like you are isolated from the outside world i guess it goes to show the excellent engineering put into these VW cars. love this swap though and you may have inspired me to look into actually committing to build one
Thats absolutely amazing, only one thing I would change and it's stupid, is the wheel centre caps for the vw ones.
Being a former VW guy I absolutely love this! Kinda of wish you kept the Golf R tips and the VW Symbol on the steering wheel, but that’s just me. Otherwise, it’s immaculate!

Rudnik is being naive if he thinks the M2 will keep up/compete. And I'm a bimmer guy. The MQB platform is the king of the streets currently though and I acknowledge that without bias.

A few years ago, vw built a Golf 7R with 5 cylinders itself. There were even several prototypes that drove on the Nordschleife, but in the end only one remained. In Germany there are several companies that have been doing such conversions for several years, even with 600+ hp.
The sound of the 5 cylinders is sooooo awesome
It will be a beast at the dragon. One of them was there when I was with the same swap. Coming from an rs3 owner, it rips the dragon hard, the golf platform will be even better! Also Vw knows people are doing it and I talked to a rep from Vw and they think it’s awesome people are doing it.
Too bad the MK8 R didn’t get DAZA from factory 😢
Before I turboed my 07K I had a catless straight pipe, IE intake manifold and intake with a stage 2 IE tune and I actually like the sound of the NA engine better... Slow as shit but sounded good

Is this a swap that could be done to a non "R" fwd golf as a budget version? Since they used everything, including the rear subframe, would the whole AWD swap fit into fwd golf? Or are the chassis different between the fwd and awd?
It could be done, but it would need a bit more work. More parts swapped over, but not THAT much more.

Get a hatch brace as well. Rear sway bar will definitely make a huge difference according to everyone who’s done it.
I’ve got a SuperPro RSB, endlinks and a Eurosport rear hatch brace waiting to go on myself.
Eurocode rear brace also works simultaneously with eurosport rear brace.
@@TheFlyingPLiner are you running that setup ? I haven’t thrown in the Eurosport yet cause I bought it used and received the wrong sized nutserts, so getting some new hardware.
@@TarzanGTI yes, eurocode front and rear braces, apr sway bars with Superpro end links and mounts, and a eurosport rear brace. Additionally added the stern underbrace and neuspeed rear sway bar reinforcement.
@@TheFlyingPLiner gotcha I’m looking to do something like that. Did you notice a discernible difference when you added the eurocode bar in addition to the cross brace?
So far I threw on the SuperPro RSB, endlinks and the Eurosport front strut brace (which made the most difference in daily driving). The sway bar also kept me very planted, I hit an off ramp yesterday doing 80+ and normally I’d chirp and lose grip but the weight transfer was great.
@@TarzanGTI it wasn't a night and day difference but it was definitely an improvement. I think it was definitely worth the money, but as you stated the front bar definitely makes the biggest difference.

Nice little number Tommy and props to the guy's smashing it! But with a good driver I do think the M2 is a better track car....PROVE me wrong Tommy and make Ruddy sell up...

It's really cool that once you know how to get past the software bullshit (which there's a lot, I used to be a VW tech) a lot of VAG stuff is almost modular. This swap is rad, it looks OEM

You could buy a valve controller or modify the ecu to force the exhaust valves to always be open in dynamic and closed like default in comfort

This is my dream car lol.I love turbo awd hatch backs. I love the new rs3. The fact the motor is a Lamborghini v10 cut in half with an added turbo is so cool. Audi awd turbo 5 cylinders are rally proven and the best. Wish I had money for this. I’m a poor boy who has a Honda CR-V. Awd k24a2 5speed. I have kids so It’s better then a mini van. Plus I can wrench on it seeing I swapped an Acura TSX motor in it. I wish it was this rs3 swapped golf r tho lol

Not sure but I think you can get an AWD controller and control the power distribution set it to the back for donuts
Do more accessories stuff into it like carbon hood, lips, canards, spoiler, diffuser headlamp and taillights , grille and 4pot brakes on the rear brake
And go for stage 3 on that
